This is not good. I received negative assessment from CPAA because I failed to complete Accounting Theory which was made mandatory for Accountant occupation last July 2010. Anyone else experienced this? I am a CPA from a Section 1 school. I am really confused as I have completed Theory of Accounts and Auditing Theory. What is this Accounting Theory subject that they are referring to?
Should I appeal? Or apply to NIA instead?

Hi @balletshoes, im so sorry to here that 🙁 i suggect to call them or email them to inquire and check mo din Accounting theory course mo if included sa syllabus un current issues.
Ive got my assessment from CPAA din kaso last feb 2010 and kasama sa mga subjects ko ang FINANCIAL ACCT THEORY AND PRACTICE WITH CURRENT ISSUES I and II. And as per my course description that ive submitted to them
This course is designated for the accounting majors who have completed their basic financial accounting. It deals with a comprehensive and thorough study of the foundation and conceptual framework for the generally accepted accounting principles. It includes applicationof these principles to the recognition and measurement and statement presentation and valuation of major assets, liabilities and stockholders equity in the balance sheets. Other financial accounting problems and issues are taken up towards the end of the course.
(yup hindi syllabus ang binigay sa kin ng UST unlike sa case ni @psychoboy and @viannej08. Ineexpect ko ganun kadaming pages per subject not 1 paragraph per subject pero they had accepted naman)
as per CPAA assessment my degree from UST is comparable to an Australian Higher Education and have fulfilled the 12 core knowledge areas. Then just this last June 2012, I had my degree assessed again kasi balak ko ng simulan ang CPAA qualifications ko. Kinakabahan ako kasi nga baka nagbago na un requirements nila since 2010 pa last assessment ko. It may not be anymore applicable this time. Thankfully, i had received the same assessment result and i got exempted from the 8 CPAA foundation level exams and could start na with CPAA professional level examination requirements.
