Good evening everyone, may mga gusto lang akong iclarify before i lodge my application for aus visa. I'm planning to submit an application for visa 489 together with my wife and daughter. Sinubukan ko yung point system sa www.immi.gov.au, at lumalabas na 85points ako assuming na makakuha ako atleast 7points sa IELTS. Grad ako ng architecture pero sa civil/ structural na work ko ever since. I'm a civil/ structural CAD Technician here in Singapore, below 32 years old.

Here are my questions:

Advisable ba na 489 ang iapply ko instead na 189? sayang din kasi nung 10 points para sa Family sponsorship.
Kelangan pa ba ng wife ko kumuha ng IELTS exam?
kamusta naman kaya ang hiring ng civil/ structural technician sa Melbourne?
Accounting naman ang linya ng wife ko, ok kaya market sa Melbourne?

now regarding your questions:

your score is to high for visa 489.. visa 489 is regional and temporary.. so if you are qualified for visa 189 (permanent), i-avail mo na un para wala ng hassle in applying PR after 2 yrs.. if you look at current Skillselect invitation, may naiinvite na 60-65pts lang.. so without the additional 10 pts, you can get easily invited with 75pts and qualify for either 189/190 visa.
kung hindi kayo kukuha ng partner points =5 pts, hindi na kailangan ng IELTS ni misis...

@lock_Code2004 thanks for your reply. Well, assume lang naman yung score ko na 85. Yan eh kung kasama na yung 10points for family sponsor, 5points for my partner, and assuming makakuha ako atleast 10points sa IELTS. Naniniguro lang sana ako kaya ko naisip na 489 na lang kasi sayang din ng 10points. Medyo lost pa ko till now kasi nasa planning stage pa lang kami. I guess we should start now with our IELTS and skills assessment para atleast kahit papano meron na kami idea sa points namin.

Mas mabilis ba mainvite sa 189 kesa sa 489?

@clickbuddy2009 - may 3 types of ng visa for Skilled migrant:

Visa 189- Independent

Visa 190 - state sponsorship

Visa 489 - Regional Temporary - may 2 types (Regional State Sponsorship or Family Sponsorship)

so in terms of priority sa EOI invitation, eto ang ranking:

Visa 190
Visa 489 (Regional State Sponsorship)
Visa 189 and Visa 489 (Family Sponsorship) - medyo pareho lang..

in the end, kailangan mong i-weigh ang mga decisions.. pros/cons ng bawat types of visas..

tip* normally kumuha lang ng visa 489 kung kulang ang points (ex 50 pts + 10 pts relative sponsorship)... because based on trends/reports sa DiAC.. naiinvite naman kahit 60-65pts..

so there is no sense in applying for a temporary visa 489 with 85pts..

but first, you are correct.. concentrate initially on your assessment/ielts..

pag lumabas na ang results.. you can decide which visa to apply for..

yes.. you know how the EOI point system works.. so you should be able to estimate now...

pag meron ka ng results IELTS/assessment...

your assessment will give results on your educ qualification and number of related work exp
your IELTS score has corresponding EOI points
if you dont need the 5pts (partner's skills) then do assessment/ielts for the wife.

estimate your scores.. simulate different scenarios.. kung feeling mo kulang ang work exp mo.. then look for other ways to increase your points... like for example, un nga partner's skills

Wala pa po akong professional ceritifications like MCSE or CCNP that could help me to be assessed sana sa ACS kaya iniisip ko pong mag pa assess na lang sa TRA. hingin ko lang po ang advise ninyo. thank you. visa subclass 489 po sana ang balak namin since yung cousin ko is willing to sponsor us in Victoria. thank you.

Another question about relative sponsorship. Pwede po bang mag sponsor ng more than 1 applicant ang relative ?

hello @aarenslive021608 - welcome po sa forum.. there are several things i want to clarify to you..

if you really want to be sponsored by your cousin (visa 489 relative sponsored), you should nominate an occupation na nasa SOL Sched 1.. last time i check wala po dun ang occupation na Computer Technician, therefore hindi po na kayo pwede i-sponsor kahit na eligible pa sya..
if you really want to proceed with visa 489, you should check SOL and find another occupation na pwede sayo, meaning, ung job title na tugma sa job description mo ngaun.. get the ANSZCO code and check the definition/job description.
kung wala talaga, you check other visa types: 190(state sponsored) or, 489 (regional sponsored), eto check mo ang CSOL (another list naman ito) Sched 2, baka sakaling meron dito na tugma sa job description mo..

For example: this occupation is in CSOL Sched2: ICT Support Technicians nec - 313199-TRA

so baka dito pwede ka...google mo ang ANSZCO jobe code 313199 and check the job description kung tugma sa ginagawa mo..

kung okay. check mo kung available ba ito for sponsorship sa Victoria.. kung hindi.. hindi rin po pwede kayo isponsoran ng state...

visa 489 - regional relative sponsorship is a point tested visa..

so dapat ma meet mo pa rin ang EOI passmark 60pts.

kung wala kang work experience at meron kang ibang points to satisfy ung 60pts (50pts + 10 pts Visa 489 relative sponsorship), then walang problema..

489 Family/relative sponsorship - your nominated occupation should be in SOL Sched 1

489 Regional Sponsorship -your nominated occupation should be in CSOL Sched 2 and of course in the State's SNOL (State Nomination Occupation List)

Pakienlighten po ako. I will not get points sa degree na kukuhanin ko dito sa au dahil 1 year lang po di ba? Instead of 3 years maging 1 year na lang po ako mag aral kasi nacredit yung subjects ko sa atin.

as far as i know, opo, hindi kayo makakuha ng points for AU education dahil 1 yr lang kayo nag-aral..

@lock_code2004 - sir, sa tingin nyo po ba sa aking IELTS results na GT L=6.5 R=7.5 W=6.5 S=7.0 OBS=7.0 age 31, EE degree, 6 years working experience, papasok ba sa 189 ito or just to be safe mag-489 sate/regional provisional visa na lang muna? Although aware naman po ako sa downside ng 489 i just wanted to move faster with my wife and daughter from SG. Please advise sir thanks a lot.

IELTS - 0

Work 6yrs - 10 pts

Educ - Degree 15pts or Diploma (10pts) depende po kung san kayo nag-aral/PRC license

So kung Degree po ang assessment sa educ qualification nyo, ang total nyo ay 55pts, you can apply for visa 190 (state sponsorship) +5 pts = 60 pts, para atleast PR na agad ang visa nyo..

Pero kung Diploma po ang result ng assessment nyo, total points will be 50 pts, so you should apply for Visa 489 (regional provisional) +10 pts = 60 pts

in both cases, automatic invitation naman po agad yan after ma approve ang SS or Regional Sponsorship, so you dont have to worry kahti na saktong 60pts ang total points nyo..

I suggest, immediately proceed with your EA assessment, while waiting for the assessment result, you can decide to re-take IELTS, para maging qualified sa visa 189..

but keep in mind, 31 na po kayo at magbabago na ang score nyo sa AGE pag lumampas na kayo ng 32... 😉

Hi Sir, thank you for your favourable response to my queries.

Oo nga po yan ang pinu-pursue ko, na magawa at matapos ko ang CER at makapagpasa ng CDR as soon as possible so i'm studying all the resources that I have para sa positive results ng assessment, sa tingin mo sir ganito kasi medyo may hesitations ako sa career history ko:

kapag ganito ba (medyo job hopper ako in the last few years, i eloborate ko lang po ang job experiences ko.)

July 2005- Sept. 2007 - engineering technician (solar power company - semiconductor)
Jan 2008- Jan 2009 - assistant engineer - planning and design (electrical dept.)
Feb 2009 - June 2010 - automation engineer (vessel switchboard testing/modifications/retrofitting/commisioning team).
July 2010-Nov 2010 - contracts engineer (fire alarm systems) which i don't plan to put this in CER.

lastly, 5. Nov 2010 - present - M&E Engineer (a pharmaceutical company, facilities maintenance particularly sa mga lighting, low voltages equipment, genset and anything about electrical sa buong planta.)

It's a little bit here and there. So sa opinion mo, Sir ano kaya ang possible feedback ng EA sa ganitong career track? Salamat po.

@sonsi_03 - okay lang yan.. just make sure that your documents (COE+Job description) should match ung ANSZCO code job description...

google mo po un AnSZCO code.. and make sure na malapit dun ang mga JDs mo..

prepare your career episodes to demonstrate your skills
punta po kayo sa thread ng EA.. marami din inputs dun..
