@Ren hi, kakamessage ko lng sau sa ibang thread (medtek in SA) salamat ng marami. Nailodge na ung application nmen ng 2nd july. Praying maaprove agad. 6-8wks daw process. Hi! I want a change of career. Dati na akong interested sa Med Tech nung sa Pinas pa lang pero nag shift ako sa Nursing. Now I want to pursue a Med Lab Tech career here in OZ. Nasa Adelaide ako at nalilito ako kung ano bang dapat kong kunin na course. Sa TAFE SA may diploma of Laboratory technology enough na ba yun para maging Med tech after? If I want to be a med lab scientist in the future pwede bang ganun qualificaton ko basta ipasa ko lang yung AIMS exam??? Gusto ko lang kasi munang mag start sa mababa kaya gusto kong i take yung basic course na pwedeng maging Med Lab tech ako. Advice naman jan. Yung Med Lab technician diba nagte test yung ng specimens sa lab?

@ten2six thanks for the response. I got 60 points indi kc nacount yung IELTS ko meron akong isang 6.5 kahit I got TBS of 7.5. im reviewing din kc I'm scheduled for September exam, nakakakaba kc ibang exam cya compared to ASCP and AMT.

@janntdl ako nga 2002 graduate e kaya mahirap na review hehe... this sept din ako exam... cramming na ako sa review... guilty minsan ndi na nkakareview sa pagod from work pero may panahon pa naman.. goodluck saten this sept. Will take the exam here in sg.

@gene_borres anong school ka graduate? pano ba magapply ng tourist visa dyan sa Australia? haha dyan sana ako kukuha ng exam kaya lang nasa malayong isla ako ngayon. goodluck satin lahat. HENRY lang binabasa ko kaya gusto ko wl nko ibang review materials na dala. :-(

@Jagger very useful yun. Yung questions were very similar to the practice exam given. Yung iba nga eh lumabas ulit hehe. Gud luck!

I'm not that familiar pa sa mga courses here, but I know one person na nasa specimen reception namin from that TAFE program.

As for being a nurse, sayang naman, madami pa din employment opportunities here sa aus, sayang din yung work experience mo before.

I cant really use the word madali at the moment kasi case to case basis. When I first moved here 3 yrs ago, I think the timing was just right, though it still took me a month to get a job. I heard now its longer, 3 or more months.

@Ren Thanks sa reply. I'm in planning stage pa naman pero most probably I will pursue that career path. My first course is Medtech din naman kasi although nag shift ako sa nursing dati since yun ang mas boom that time. Now gusto kong i-try uli ang medtech.

Magandang umaga!! itatanong ko lng po ung letter for sched ng exam, usually kelan un dumarating? Nakareceive ako ng mail frm australian pharmacy council ltd w/ examination rules pero wlang nakasulat kelan exam at venue... may susunod na letter pa ba ako mttnggap aside from this? kelngn ko kasi mgfile ng leave.. salamat po.

@Ren hi po! recently receive my grant letter.i applied subclass 190 sponsored by NSW medical lab scientist. im planning to go by Sept. Posible kaya na magbakasyon muna ako sa brother ko and his family for 2-3 mos sa Victoria before moving to NSW? since i have a moral obligation in NSW for first 2 yrs d ko po alam kung pwede po.thanks

Kelan exam mo? Sa September? Australian Pharmacy Council nga yung ng co conduct ng exam. Nung ako nakalagay na exam details. I think you can email them kung wala yung info kase malapit na exams.

Yup pwede yun, kasi ako nag-vacation muna ako for 2 months in Sydney before moving to adelaide. Just make sure you inform immi NSW that you are going on holiday first and once you are in NSW inform them of your address. Good luck!
