VETASSESS question

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to have my skill assessment through vetassess and I'm just wondering if sa certificate of employment kelangan ko na ilagay lahat ang position for the past 6 years. I worked in the same company from rank and file until such time na naging sup at manager ako....kelangan pa bang ilagay yun sa COE or ok lang na ilagay ko yung pinaka recent na position?

@loveit - there's no harm in including your other work experiences.. lalo na kung closely related sya sa skill na pinapa-assess mo.. also, makikita nila how you reached your current position..

hello po, may question ako uli,

I'm currently a Corporate Training officer and looking at the responsibilities outlined for 223311 - Training and Development professional, my current job is really comparable with it. Though I'm a little bit hesitant because my specialization is Information Technology and not Airforce or Navy which is stated on the webiste. My question is, is it still possible to submit and have my skills assessed even though I have a different specialization?

@loveit - don't worry they use "specialization" just to distinguish other OCCUPATIONS within the same UNIT GROUP..

In your case you belong to UNIT GROUP 2233 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS, with your OCCUPATION 223311 Training and Development Professional.. assessment are based on Occupation and not on specialization..

hello! gusto ko rin po sanang sa vetassess ako magpa assess kasi di pa okay IELTS ko, plan ko mag retake next year. At isa pa po mababa lang din grades ko nong college ako pero may 10 years work experience na ako. Tama po ba ang decision ko? Salamat!

@michel_75 hi.. welcome to the forum.
- first you need to check which occupation are you going to nominate.
- your choice of skill/occupation should be related to your work experience and qualification.
- verify if that skill/occupation can be assessed by Vetassess

if your nominated occupation can be assessed by Vetassess, then its possible..
give more information about your circumstances so we can give concrete suggestions..

how long is the turnaround time in VETASSESS nowadays? Four months above pa rin ba ang processing time?

Internal Auditor inonominate ko. Related sya work experience ng 10years. Kinokompleto ko pa lang documentary requirements ko sa ngayon. Nahihirapan kasi ako IELTS kaya nagrereview pa ako ulit. Baka may suggestions ka naman paano mapadali ang IELTS ko? Many thanks!

nagtake na po ba kayo ng IELTS before? para malaman nyo kung san kayo nahirapan..
meron po taong separate thread for IELTS.. pls check mga tips dun..

hi @lock_code2004! oo nagtake na ako nong july, siguro kulang ang practice ko, nag leave lang kasi ako ng 2 weeks, di pala sapat yon, tas di naman ako kagalingan sa english. Cge titgnan ko.

yes.. dapat magreview mabuti... meron po yung review classes offer ung mga review centre..
check nyo kung available pa ung promo para maka review kayo ng mas mura..
may reviewer din po dito sa forum.. check nyo ung link sa taas...

IED-Initial Entry Deadline... dapat maka-initial entry ako sa Au on or before that date..

Hello, I'm about to submit my application for skill assessment by tomorrow..do you guys, recommend to avail the point advise letter? May extra cost po kc, just wondering whether its necessary. And also, just to clarify, IELTS is not a requirement for vetassee assessment right? So I can take IELTS while waiting for the result of my skills assessment yah? Thnx in advance for answering my queries.

@carla_glam i would recommend you also apply for the point advise letter if ONLY you would be claiming points for your years of work experience, except that it doesnt count and YES you can goe ahead with your VETASSESS assessment while waiting to write IELTS.

Hi @Boyolo, thanks for your prompt response. You mean its necessary po to get the point advise letter if I need to claim points for my work experience? If I won't avail the point advise, DIAC won't count my work experience? How about education qualification? Does Point advise letter can actually advise what is ur equivalent points? @carla_glam actually under the new Skillselect system, point advise letter (usually called advisory letter) is not compulsory but it is HIGHLY advisable to get it if you have atleast three (3) years work experience ( i got one for my 5 years work experience). Even DIAC recommends it. The advisory letter is to tell DIAC that your years of work experience is relevant to the nominated occupation. if you dont get an advise letter, DIAC will still count your work expereince but they will have to evaluate the work experience to know if it is relevant to your nominated skill which the advise letter would have done already.Vetassess would not state your point on the letter but will state the years of work experience that they believe is relevant to your nominated skill. from the years of relevant work experience, you can calculate your point from DIAC website - 3 yrs to less than 5years = 5 points, 5 years to less than 8 years = 10 points, and 8 years = 15 points (for overseas work experience anyway).

ako din kasi parang hindi ko na rin ipapa assess work experience ko kasi nabasa ko sa booklet, hindi naman mandatory, sayang yong AU$300.

Hi Michel,recruitment consultant ako.I think one would still need an assessment,what am I referring to that is not mandatory is the points test advice.

Hi Michel,yes it's expensive but at least ma sure mo kung ilang years yung relevant sa nominated occupation mo na acceptable sa DIAC.

@skyline and @michel_75 although point test letter (advisory letter) is not mandatory, it is still highly recommended one get it if you would be claiming point for your years of work experience. The advisory letter is quite different from the normal assessment. The advisory letter is to tell DIAC that your work experience has been assessed to either be relevant or not to your nominated skill while the NORMAL assessment is to assess the relevance of your educational qualification and most recent 12 months work experience to your nominated occupation.Although the letter is not mandatory, DIAC still recommends it (see DIAC booklet 6 page 23 & 24).

Hi @Boyolo, thanks for your insight. I have submitted my skill assessment to Vetassee last night, I have availed their Point Advisory Letter to ease my worries na rin & I believe it will expedite the process ng DIAC once I lodge my visa application, since they will take into consideration ung opinion ng Vetassee regarding my employment claim points.

Hello po! Just wanto to ask if anung courier service company ginamit nyo when u sent documents to Vetassee. Surprisingly, TNT, DHL & Fedex don't send documents to PO Box address. Has anyone tried sending documents sa vetassee using ung courier address nila? Level 5, 478 Albert St Eat Melbourne 3002 VIC, Aus. Thanks!
