Private health insurance in Australia

I have been on HCF eversince. Ok naman coverage. I mostly get it for the dental and ambulance (just in case). I'm also fond of going to the dentist and a couple of root canals and unti unti ko nang pinapapalitan yung worn out fillings ko plus the bi-annual free cleaning at HCF's own dental clinic. doon pa lang bawi bawi na ako sa monthly payments ko. plus may pre-existing heart and kidney condition ako so no need to be on a public waiting list if I need any procedures. it really depends what your priorities are kung sulit sya for you or hinde.

Hi me nareceived po kami na letter neto today lang at naklagay kelngan mag purchase ng private health insurance ? ano po ba usually ung dpat namen iavail s private insurance? magkano din po ito weekly sakali ska Ung HCF ? hndi lang kami familiar. tingin nyo po kelngan namen kumuha neto ? ung sa ambulance me separate po kami knuha neto ung 100 lang per year at pwede iavail ng isa sa family in case of emergency. wala dn po kami pre- existing condition , siguro ung anak nmen kelangan lang tlga dlahil monthly sa dentist dahil bulok ipin at kelngan bnutin iba. pro me 1k na allowance sa medicare card ng anak nmen na pwde gamitin s loob ng isang taon.

At ung s panganganak paano po ba kung walang private insurance ? pang future reference lang po .

quality service ang na experience namin though i never experienced hospital sa pinas.
basta i felt we were taken cared of during that experience.

ang unawa ko sa loading is kapag after age 31, example age, then kumuha ka PHI.,.. mas malaki premium mo kumpara sa sae person age 35 na may PHI since age 31 sya.. double check mo n lng din

sa panganganak, over all ok nmn, the best so far.

Cs is free p din pero as much as possible try nila natural, though ang Mother ang may final say.

Plus 1. First hand experience. Emergency CS wala kami binayaran na kahit ano.

That was my second pregnancy. 1st ko is CS. 5yrs gap. Nag try ako mag labor, gusto ko kasi normal delivery(VBAC) na on my second. Unfortunately na eCS pa rin. Pero ok ang experience. Sa birthing suite pa nga ako nag labor. Mahal yun sa pinas. Hehe. Buti nalang dito ako nanganak. Nagka complication kasi. Nag internal bleeding ako. Magaling mga doctors nila. Tska alagang alaga ako nun.. tapos nag iron infusion pa ako. Tapos nag iinject ng blood thinning. Dami nangyari. Pero yun nga buti dito nangyari, hindi sa pinas. Kung hindi, malaking gastos.

Hi @DreamerA , I also received a letter about private health insurance. We're still on the process selecting if anu yung okay na kunin. Based on my understanding sa letter, Hospital Cover lang yung need na kunin. Medyo expensive din kase yung insurance lalo na sa mga nagsisimula pa lang. Indicated din sa letter is may 12mos para kumuha ng insurance once you registered sa Medicare. I noticed lang na advance yung padala nila ng letter about getting an insurance.

Hi @DreamerA , hindi pa din kami nakakuha ng hospital cover. This August na lang siguro kami kukuha. kunin na lang muna siguro namin yung cheapest. Kunin dapat namin yung sa AHM na may free 6 weeks, kaya lang hindi pala siya applicable if hospital cover lang yung kukunin, dapat yung package yung kukunin.

Hello guys, confirm ko lang po na kapag CS covered this siya ng medicare? Malapit na po and fue ko and seems like CS ata ako.

yes, pero expect midwife will try normal delivery, when it is safe to do so, for faster recovery mo,

I have low lying placenta kaya baka ma-CS ako, but praying harder that it will move up before my due date. PHI kasi namin is without pregnancy eh.. kaya we are purely relying sa medicare.

have a safe delivery.. parking lang ang binayaran namin noon.. kapag weekly na appointment mo s hospital or gp, you may confirm with them as well

@Jana sa last scan mo maconfirm kung normal or CS ka. covered din naman ng medicare ang CS hindi ka nga lang makakapili ng room at malamang discharge ka nila agad pag ok na kayo ni baby.

just would like to share my experience, currently with health.com.au as a coverage on my TSS 482 Visa...

nagpunta po kami ng Emergency recently to have our son checked, he kept on crying one day and found out that he had pharyngitis (tama ba spell ko haha), this was on a Sunday din pala, so walang bukas na mga clinics or GP's to consult... after almost 3 hours being in the hospital, we got out and was advised na dahil first time namin to use our health insurance, yung hospital na bahala mag-arrange in contacting them...

after one month, low and behold! meron akong nakuhang outstanding bill sa mail coming from the hospital, di daw nagbayad yung health insurer namin... pag-chat ko sa kanila (walang call centre ngayon kasi daw pandemic) di daw nila covered yung "emergency" na nangyari sa anak namin, dahil daw "budget" lang yung current cover namin with them, was asked to fork out as much as $500 for the emergency hospital drama...

highly suggested to get a much more comprehensive health insurance company, and please do read the fine prints, ayun na nga, pagkabasa namin ng fine print, hindi kasama ang emergency outpatient, dapat e inpatient ka, dapat pala nagpa-confine kame para sagot nila how sad lolz

nakakainis, pero we have learned something from that, need na magpa-PR ASAP!
