Hello, meron po nag fly thru PAL from MNL-MEL? First time ko kasi mejo nalilito ako sa carry on baggage. Pwede po ba yung ganito:

1 luggage with some clothes, bags, notebook, etc na hindi lalagpas sa 7kg
    PLUS
1 backpack with laptop, ipad, chargers, tumbler, documents
    PLUS
1 small sling bag with wallets, passport, pens

    https://philippineairlines.com/en/before-you-fly/baggage-information/baggage-allowance/baggage-allowance-fees/carry-on-baggage

The backpack with laptop and sling bag should probably be small enough to fit underneath the seat, otherwise it might get counted as another cabin baggage.

Personally I only travel with 2 bags (one laptop backpack and a cabin luggage), so it's easier to track my stuff (reducing the likelihood of leaving stuff behind). The backpack will have all the electronics, and the luggage will have other stuff that I don't usually use during the flight.

Hi, anyone here po na nag fly from Manila to Melbourne using Cebu Pacific with kids? Can you share your experience?

    Thank po in advance.

I don't have kids, but I ordered food on my Cebupac flight. Any food served in the plane should be left on the plane. Pwede kayo magbaon ng pastries as snacks for the kids (if may laman sya na meat like sausage/hotdog, iwan nyo ang leftovers sa plane kasi bawal magdala ng meat into Australia). I almost got a penalty for this when I first arrived because I forgot to eat my baon (pastry with sausage) during the flight.

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is a fair distance away from the city, but you can take the Skybus from airport to the city. Just check that your arrival time is within the service schedule (4am to 1am), so you can catch the bus to the city. You can prebook your Skybus tickets online.

    Thanks @athelene for the reply.

God is good all the time!

To be eligible for citizenship, you cannot be away from Australia for over 12 months in total during the past 4 years. Kailangan na 4 years yung continuous residence, so if you want to count your days during your first entry, the time between first entry and BM should be less than 12 months. Otherwise, you will have to count the BM date as the start of your 4-year residency.

"When you apply you must have been:

    • living in Australia on a valid visa for the past 4 years
    • a permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen for the past 12 months
    • away from Australia for no more than 12 months in total in the past 4 years, including no more than 90 days in total in the past 12 months."

    Source: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/become-a-citizen/permanent-resident#Eligibility

Thank you so much 😊 good info need ko kasi mag first entry muna if ever ma grant na hehe..

Planning sana kami to cover at least 3-6 months living expenses or kulang pa po ba yun? Thank you! :)

There have been posts about average monthly living costs (please use the forum's search function) to get an idea of the numbers.

It depends on where you are planning to move, if Sydney or regional area. Sydney rent is expensive, but it may be easier to find your first job (possibly odd jobs if willing kayo). If office job ang habol nyo, it may take several months to actually get a job you want. If regional area, rent may be cheaper.

Ok po thank you for the reply :)

1 carry-on luggage- trolly rin para sa powerbank, electronics and spare clothes for a day, kung meron alcohol etc.

Di naman wineigh ang carry on and laptop bag is free kaya mamaximise mo na free. It works only sa COMMERCIAL Flights.

    Hi,

Newly granted 190 VIC Visa this week lang po. Plan to do the BM this June2023.

As far as I know, 30 kg ang maximum free baggage allowance ni PAL. You can have 2 bags na 10kg and 20 kg, basta total weight is 30kg. If you have premium economy ticket and your max baggage allowance is 35kg, the max weight of one baggage must be 32kg (tapos 3 kg yung other one).

Yes, pwede isang check-in luggage na 30kg ang weight. If magpapa-add ka, extra payment pa yan.

As far as I know, 30 kg ang maximum free baggage allowance ni PAL. You can have 2 bags na 10kg and 20 kg, basta total weight is 30kg. If you have premium economy ticket and your max baggage allowance is 35kg, the max weight of one baggage must be 32kg (tapos 3 kg yung other one).

    https://philippineairlines.com/before-you-fly/baggage-information/baggage-allowance/baggage-allowance-fees/international-flights/pacific

Thank you po! So pwede pala po isang luggage andun na yung 30kg lahat? Then if magpapaadd po kami for example ng 10kg extra, magdadagdag na kami isa pa luggae na 10kg?

Yes, pwede isang check-in luggage na 30kg ang weight. If magpapa-add ka, extra payment pa yan.

Thank you very much po 💖

Hello, meron po nag fly thru PAL from MNL-MEL? First time ko kasi mejo nalilito ako sa carry on baggage. Pwede po ba yung ganito:

1 luggage with some clothes, bags, notebook, etc na hindi lalagpas sa 7kg
    PLUS
1 backpack with laptop, ipad, chargers, tumbler, documents
    PLUS
1 small sling bag with wallets, passport, pens

    Ako ganito.
    1 check-in luggage - clothes and documents (30 kgs)
1 carry-on luggage- trolly rin para sa powerbank, electronics and spare clothes for a day, kung meron alcohol etc.

Di naman wineigh ang carry on and laptop bag is free kaya mamaximise mo na free. It works only sa COMMERCIAL Flights.

    3. 1 month before, dapat nakaimpake na kayo. Mahirap pag may nakalimutan kayo sa Pilipinas.

Saka siyempre using a credit card, meron 1-2 days clearance pa yan sa airport, purchase early para iwas hassle.

    7. Carry-on bag, 7 kg yan if sa economy ka.

If unsure, declare. But I was wearing gold jewelry and brought unused clothing flying into Australia and no problem naman. These are for personal use so should not be a problem. You'll see everything you need to declare sa arrival card. Fines apply only if you don't declare.

Also if may dala kayong medicines or wooden items (I did) you might be asked to stand in line at aamuyin kayo ng sniffer dog. Hahaha.

For those asking, ito mga pics hopefully to inspire at ma-renew ang faith, kung medyo nababagot na maghintay (like me). Ginawang blog eh noh! First time to visit Australia so pasensya na sa saya 😆 Pero may mga nakapagtanong kasi so share ko na lang here hehe:

    Sydney
The Opera House at night—so beautiful!

Bondi to Bronte coastal walk, went here solo and commuting was really straightforward. Just hop on a bus and sit for less than an hour, and boom, beach! Nakakapanibago ang "coastal walk" as a concept but man, what an experience! Parang nadagdagan yung buhay ko ng 100 years, hahaha.

Yung Opera grounds, sobrang nakakatameme sa lawak at pagka-open. I went here every day to watch the sunset and mag-chill lang sa grounds, nakaupo kung saan-saan.

The whole Circular Quay to Milsons Point harbour edge was just beautiful. Mapa-araw o gabi, ang ganda talaga.

    Melbourne
Napaka-walkable, nakakaloka! Kahit na up/downhill, keri pa rin. Ang dali rin ng buhay tram! My commutes never took more than an hour, ever, kahit nung mga moments na nawala ako dahil maling train nasakyan. Ang daling bumalik.

Melbourne's greenery and parks were my favourite. Mas chill kaysa dun sa Sydney, siguro kasi mas onti tao? Pero may pagka-probinsya feel si Melbourne for me kahit major city siya.

Feel na feel ang autumn sa Melb! Yung weather and vibe.

Medyo underwhelming sa akin yung tourist spots ni Melbourne, pero I get the appeal of the city talaga as a place to live in. You come to appreciate each spot sa ambience. Where Sydney feels like The Big City, Melbourne feels like your own little city.

Keep the faith lang, these two cities will be our home soon! 🫶🏼

    Hello po.
Mag ask lang po if need ko ideclare and gold jewelries, unused shoes and bags and perfumes sa Australia?

If unsure, declare. But I was wearing gold jewelry and brought unused clothing flying into Australia and no problem naman. These are for personal use so should not be a problem. You'll see everything you need to declare sa arrival card. Fines apply only if you don't declare.

Also if may dala kayong medicines or wooden items (I did) you might be asked to stand in line at aamuyin kayo ng sniffer dog.

You must declare this. Itataktak nila yung pamaypay sa border control, and napansin nila may nakatagong insects doon. So wag na kayo magdala ng ganito.

Even you purchase your hat na may made of plant material, still you need to declare it upon re-entry to Australia.
