Napaaga kami bumili ng kotse... Si misis kasi will be starting on her work this Wednesday and the workplace is a bit far from the nearest bus station (2.5 kilometers) - worried ako sa pag-uwi kaya ayun, we spent the entire long weekend searching for a decent 2nd hand.

We found a car that matched our budget in a town south of Melbourne - it was from a 2nd hand car dealer and we just paid the old man a downpayment of $500 earlier today. Tomorrow afternoon, we will pay for the balance and we shall proceed to have the registration transferred.

Oh yeah, I bought my dedicted GPS earlier today as well... We could not trust our 3 year old iPhones as the battery has become very faulty lately.

Am excited to drive!! AHahaha... 🙂 Been deprived of this whilst we were living in Singapore for 4 years.

makikisagot na lang muna ako ha. yung housemate ko has a Driver's License galing SG pero nung nagpunta sya sa Vic Roads para sa conversion, sabi ng officer na kailangan pa din nya ng at least 1 year na syang nagda-drive sa SG, kasi less than a year pa lang yung license nya dun. d2 pumasok ngayon ung additional evidence na nagdridrive na syang matagal which is yung driver's license nya sa pinas. after that wala ng tanong, naconvert na nya automatically ung license nya. hope this helps 🙂

Mag e-expire napo ang driver's license namin sa pinas this july, pero ererenew po namin.

Kukunin ba nila yung luma? Para ipa photocopy or scan nalang namin as proof na matagal nang nag dadrive?

if you are in NSW you need a proof/certificate indicating the initial date you got your license ... this is if you are aiming for the full and un-restricted license ... if you are on your P it does not matter as long as you got your PH license ... you need to present your license card no photocopy

I had this experience with VIC Road - kailangan ng proof na I have been driving for X number of years in order for me to be granted full license upon passing all exams. I told them that it is indicated in the drivers license number...

They refer to a book regarding licenses all over the world and true enough, they saw based on my license number that I have been driving for 12 yrs already.

Maybe, they would also have that in NSW? Otherwise, kumuha ka sa LTO Office in East Avenue ata and that can be a pain in the a$$... 🙂

@li_i_ren Based the extensive review sa Australia ng 6 SUV front runners (they were tested light off-road as well as URBAN driving), Mazda CX-5 ang first sa kanila. Next is Tiguan, then Subaru, then Toyota Rav 4, nag tie nga sa last yung CRV and Mitsubishi outlander. So if ur buying a new SUV, i think go for AWD Mazda CX-5 or Volkswagen Tiguan. The price range is around 32 to 34K for AWD.

@btarroja213.. d2 samin sa Broome WA uso ung scooter d2 at mga big bike at safe mag scooter d2 ksi remote area.. Kaunti lg ung sasakyan. But kung sa city, prang matumal tlga ang nakikita kong nag momotor..

Agree!

Ang ganda pa kamo ng Tiguan talaga (sa personal, hehe). Pumapangalawa Subaru, for me anyway, because of the safety features. Kaso, mukhang need mag-ipon pa ng konti, ang mahal talaga! I would probably get a "demo" version, if it were me. Pero di muna, wala pa pera. 😃
