Thank goodness Doc, my experience with laboratory work here is mainly in Microbiology. I have been working as such for 3 years now.. I hope we could meet, prayerfully by next year.

Hello everyone!

Magtatanong lang po regarding points-tests for Skilled-Independent Subclass 189 regarding Qualifications:

As stated sa website, yung Qualifications na Bachelor's Degree is already 15 points that can be awarded provided meron supporting evidence. How about yung skills assessment from a relevant skills assessment authority as a requirement (e.g. AIMS for Med Lab Scientists) may added points rin ba yun sa Qualifications category if may awarded points na for a BS Degree? Kasi meron dun description stating: "An award or qualification recognised by the assessing authority in the assessment of the skilled occupation = 10 points"

Anybody who has an experience with this? Madadagdag ba sa points yung skills assessment if positive yung result?

Hi. You can only claim points for one category once, e.g. qualiiication, and you claim whichever is higher.. So pg nasabi ng AIMS na bachelors degree, 15 ang claim mo..no addtl 10 for the assessment..

You are welcome! Congratulations po. sana umabot din yung assessment ko by December. They have my docs nung Oct 15 lang. How long did it take for your assessment?

@rjohndeguzman, I submitted my docs Sep 1.. Sep 10 nila nareceive yung docs. Oct 18 ko nreceive ung result and ivitation to sit for the exam sa mail. So mga 1 month yung processing nila. 4-10 days ung delivery ng mail.

halong mahirap and madali yung exam. madaming enumeration. sorry indi ko na maisa isa yung mga questions na lumabas pero like dun sa first part ng thread d2 the type of questions are pretty much the same as the 2007 sample paper but unlikely to be repeated. Make sure to study all the topics that they listed per subject. I know it was almost everything pero dun lang talaga galing mga questions nila. Naulit sa exam last September was about anion gap, stains(gram stain), stains in histopath(paps and stains for tissues). Megaloblastic anemia(vitb12 and folate def). Hope I helped. sobrang nakakainip ang result. Goodluck to all that will take the March 2015 exam.

prepare yourself for March 2015 exam coz based on my experience, I submitted the requirements for assessment may20 and they got it may 26 and by june 12 I got an email inviting me to sit for the September exam. And the deadline for submission of application for the exam I think was june 20 so I only got a week to decide and they said I can just email my application.

Hi Po @ Ren..medtech din Po Ako pero dito Po sa Bahrain naman..ask Lang Po Sana Ako if mg apply Po sa 189 visa hinahanapan din Po kaya ng show money or bank deposits?kasi we are planning Po to migrate with my family..thank you po..

Hi wala po tlga akong idea kung paano makapagwork sa aus. Where to start po ba? Paano at saan magpapaasses? Website? Or au immigration? Saan mageexam? Pag nagkavisa na po ba ng 189 or 190 maghahanap pa ng work sa oz? Sorry wala tlga akong idea. Pls.help

@catthsy Go to aims.org.au. Sila ang parang assessing body ng medtech (medical lab scientist) sa Au. Kelangan mo magpa assess sakanila, but before that dapat nag IELTS ka muna. After naassess ka at okay naman, you will be considered as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Then you will be invited to sit the examination for Medical Laboratory Scientist. Twice a year ang exam, March and September . Dito sa Pilipinas sa Makati ang exams. Hope this helps

thanks. magtatake plang ako ng ielts. kaso wala pa akong experience abroad. Baka mababa lang ung points ko. ilang years pa po ba ang kukunin pag magaaral sa oz? credited po ba sa points pag nkapasa sa aims?

Di naman kelangan na experience abroad. Basta maka 2 years experience ka locally eh pwede ka na magpa-assess. Di ko lang sure yung pagaaral dun. Meron ibang andito sa forum na nasa Au na, maybe sila ang makakasagot nyan

@chelle.. Nareceive ko na po yung results the AIMS assessment. Tinanggap naman nila mga COE ko kahit walang job description. Yung format kse ng COE from employers ko hindi un ksama.. Title, employment dates and salary lang nklagay.

BS Public Health po pala ako Batch 2004. Inaccept naman nila ung degree ko, and I was invited to sit for the exam. 🙂

yes tama si bhelle meron din dyan sa pinas and every march and sept din. Baka dyan ako sa pinas magexam sa march 2015. Planning na rin bumalik sa pinas. Pahinga muna.. Sana may kasabayan ako mag take. Magsisismula nko magreview. Hindi na ata ako marunong magaral. haha. Thankful prin sa forum na to. @ska1119 same tau sa March 2015 din ako mgtake ng exam. Nakuha ko na results nung initial assessment ko. Anong books yung gamit mo for review?
