has anyone here experienced claiming for say 15pts but in the end DIAC never gave them any pts for their respective degree?

CHECKLIST

You must include the following documents with this application

(Copies of the original documents plus English translations if necessary)

finished IELTS (last Jan 7) under British Council - all bands above 7.0

the skills assessment requirement is only 6.0 for each band

- A certified copy of your educational qualification papers (such as degrees, diplomas, certificates etc.)
-> I already have multiple copies of my Diploma, Diploma (English Translation), TOR (Transcript of Records)
- A certified copy of educational courses completed, showing subjects, hours, examination results, and where applicable, details of practical education.
-> I already have multiple copies of my Complete Course Description. also including certifications for Autodesk softwares, Bentley Microstation, in-house company trainings for ArcGIS, SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.
- A summary of your professional work experience.

Question: Same like my CV po ba ito? arranged chronologically with detailed scope of work and projects done?
- Your professional references.

--> I have 3 references (1 - from the philippines, 2- in singapore from my 2 Project Managers

   detailing my duties and responsibilities under them, complete with their contact infos) </b>

- A summary of your contributions to the profession and evidence of your continuing professional development during the past two years.

Question: is this like continuing education, (eg. i took a course of Bentley Microstation and also another one on Autodesk Civil 3D)? and I have no ideas about my contributions to the profession. any thoughts on this?

- Documentary evidence of any professional society membership.

--> I have a certification from the GEP (Geodetic Engrs of the Philippines) that I am an active member.

- Official certified copies, where applicable, of:

Original and current registration or licensing

Change of Name

--> I have a certification from PRC, my Board Exam results and a current valid PRC License

- Application Fee of $500 + GST = $550.00 (Australian)

Just to add something baka makatulong kasi nag pa assessed ako here sa Singapore. If your school is under Section 2, then you will get 10 points. But if you passed the PRC (for engineers, CPA, nurses, etc), then you'll get another 5 points and it will be equivalent to schools under Section 1 (max. 15 points).

I just lodged my EOI on 9-Sep-12 and application for SS on 11-Sep-12 but still waiting for the result..Thanks God.

Hello @Alexcons - what do you mean by nag pa assess sa Singapore?

Correct ka that if your school is under Section 2, then you will get 10 points. But if you passed the PRC (for engineers, CPA, nurses, etc), then you'll get another 5 points and it will be equivalent to schools under Section 1 (max. 15 points) - on top of this, there is also a provision from CEP that if your GPA is above a certain mark, you can still claim maximum of 15 even if your school is not in the section 1 list...

Actually, Immigration agent ko here sa Singapore. It may not official assessment from Australian authorities, but they are confident of the same results based on their previous (and succesfull) clients.

Nagpasa ka na ba ng EOI?

parang wala pong nasusulat na ganyan sa website ng diac or any booklet form I've read...

malinaw naman po ang mga rules and guidelines ng DIAC... wala pong gray area sa mga rules nila...

Just don't want to contribute false hope sa mga kaforum natin... baka iassume nila ang addl 5pts pero hindi naman pala totoo...

but if you can provide proof sir. I stand corrected.

Hello @icebreaker1928 - as per the website of Australian Education International, they give guidelines as to how section 1, 2 or 3 schools can be comparable to the educational level of the AQF qualification.

Usually kapag section 1, walang problema ka as they are usually comparable to a bachelors degree in Australia; worth noting are as follows:

Section 3 institutions can be comparable to a bachelor's degree in Australia if:

(1) Bachelor Degree in a professional discipline with (a) 4 or 5 years full-time education, (b) 120-200 credits and (c) Evidence of passing the Professional Regulation Commission’s Licensure Examinations in the relevant professional field.

Section 2 institutions can be comparable to a bachelor's degree in Australia if:

(1) Bachelor Degree with (a) 4 years full-time education, (b) 120-185 credits and (c) Average grade of 1.00 to 2.00, (A to B, or more than 85%)

(2) Bachelor Degree in a professional discipline with (a) 4 years full-time education, (b) 120-185 credits and (c) Evidence of passing the Professional Regulation Commission’s Licensure Examinations in the relevant professional field.

(3) Bachelor Degree with (a) 5 years full-time and (b) Around 200 credits.

Take note that if your degree is comparable to the AU bachelor's, it means 15 pts ka when claiming for your educational background.

Pag nasa section 1 ba ang school automatic po ba ang 15 points sa education, khit walang PRC license or nde ganun kataas ang grades? 5 years course po ako sa isang section 1 school..

I also took 6 months course sa isang singapore school for ccna cert, at naipasa ko naman siya.. may extra points po ba kaya ito?
