Based on personal experience, preferred nila yung makaka start immediately and yung nandun na sa AU. Ang kaso, 2 months notice period sa current company ko.
Last week a recruiter scheduled a phone interview and sinabi ko sa email na SG-based ako. He called me on the scheduled date, but when he realized na wala ako sa AU, di na tinuloy ang interview LOL mga 2 minutes lang kami sa call, mostly him apologizing for not noticing my address on my CV.
P.S. Hindi pa rin ako nakakahanap ng work, kaya extend muna ako dito sa SG hanggang makaipon ng pera at lakas ng loob pumunta sa baba nang walang trabaho. :#
Same here! I got a lot of opportunities end of last year nung wala pa visa ko, and now the jobs are pretty sparse sa field ko so it’s a lot more competitive—gusto talaga nila andun ka. I had one fall through dahil gusto andun na ako for police checks, and I just couldn’t manage to fly on short notice at the time.
Good luck! I’m considering my options din (extend, or part-time MA). Apply lang nang apply 🙂
Hi batchmate @era222! Thanks for sharing your situation, hindi pala ako nag iisa.
Since visa grant last December, daily na ako nagsu-submit ng application sa Seek, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc. But out of my 100+ submissions, 4 times lang ako na-invite for HR interview. Sadly di ako pinaabot sa next round of interview dahil sa urgency ng position.
Actually, nag iisip na ako mag tender ng resignation next week, pero takot ako maging unemployed LOL. Mag risk na sana akong lumipad to Melbourne then AirBnB for 2 months while jobhunting. But the worst case scenario is di ako makahanap ng work within 2 months and uuwi ako sa Pinas na luhaan.
Plano ko nga mag part-time fruit picker habang nandun, kaso need din ata relevant experience non? 😃
