How to convert PH Driver's License to AU Driver's License?

I seriously doubt binutas talaga... Sino ang tanga na gagawa niyan diba? That is a valid government identification. 🙂

Anyhow, what happen to me pre was I took the theory exams within my 6 months and the Vicroads personnel asked if I want to apply for a learners permit, ang mangyayari is that is mag-apply ako, I can no longer drive on my own as my 6-months driving permit will be invalidated.

So ayun, I didn't get a learners na... I took a actual driving, bagsak pero cge drive pa rin. Took the 2nd actual driving and pumasa na.

I got a full license within getting a learners. I just took all 3 required exams (theory, hazard percerption and actual).

hi @gilberttkd. I had to do the same like what @tasburrfoot did. After passing the knowledge test here in NSW, I was asked if I would like to take an L licence on that day, given that my 3-month privilege has not lapsed. Other than the cost of getting the L licence and since I have the intention of taking the actual driving exam in a few weeks, I have to be frugal. Plus, getting the L licence means, I cannot drive in NSW without a full licence accompanying me. In short, I did not get the L licence.

Valid ID? NSW has a Photo card (don't know if other states have this type of card) which you can get thru RMS. After passing the actual driving exam, they cancelled my Photo card but not my PHL DL.

Hi, thanks @TasBurrfoot and @RyanJay, Maliwanag na ngaun to me. Hindi pala ibig sabihin na maglearners exam ka eh bibigyan ka na ng L License. Choice pala un and not mandatory.

Kung ganun, magtatake na ako ng learners at hazard test.... then actual driving on our 4th month... practice muna ako, kabibili lang kasi naming ng sasakyan (used car of course) hehe! Thanks again.

After theory exam, dpat nagbayad ka na para sa practical exam mo. Kahit san muna na suburb then pwede mo naman change un online kung san gusto mo talaga mag-take ng driving exam.

FYI, mas maraming pumamasa sa Mandurah and Kelmscott compare sa iba.

Hi gilberttkd,

1) Wrong. Lahat ng Pinoy na may license more than 24 months na sa pinas eh dumadaan sa L Plate. Meaning, take ng theory exam, then L plate. Here in WA, pwede kang drive using your Phil License only for 3 months from date of arrival. After that, kung gusto mong drive, dapat na ka L plate ka kung hindi mo pa naipapasa ang practical exam.

2) Sa mga may license naman sa pinas na less than 24 months eh sames procedures except skip mo ung logbook & hazard perception exam. Jump agad sa P plate (red and so on..

3)Sa mga walang license sa Pinas. Lahat eh magte-take ang theory test, then L plate till maipasa ang practical. After maipasa ang practical, mag la-logbook ka pa for six months. Dont know ung exact hours sa logbook, then kapag complete na un, take ka ng hazard perceptions exam then kapag naipasa mo un, P Plate (red) for six months then after nun P Plate (green) till maka 2 years ka, then fully license ka na.

Yan ung procedures dito sa WA.

Mate, mate... I didn't undergo getting a learners... Where does that place me? I now have a full VIC license after taking all 3 exams, flunking my first actual and without getting a learner's license. 🙂

You have to understand that different state have different process. I dunno what the process there in WA (and frankly I couldn't care less) but that is how it is here in VIC - and @gilberttkd was asking ata specifically for VIC.

yep, sa mandurah nga rin ako mag PDA...madami nagsabi sa akin na marami nga daw pumapasa dun... :-)

Ganun ba talaga sa WA? Lahat dadaan ng L plate? Kasi dito sa VIC, you don't need to undergo L plate if more than 2 years ka na may PH license and as long as maipasa mo ang theory, hazard at actual driving test. I got my full license after I passed all those exams. After I pass the theory exam, hindi ako pinag L plate, nag drive pa rin ako gamit ang PH license ko, and staff from Vic Roads told me that I don't need to undergo L plate or get a Learner's license.

hmmm.... that's very unsual. ring mo ung DOT and ask kung bakit walang kang L permit para kumuha ng practical assessment.

Like I've said, pwede kang mag drive in WA using your Phil License within 3 months from arrival. During that period at hindi mo pa napapasa ang practical mo, you have to display your L Plate otherwise, kapag nahuli ka ng police eh magbabayad ka ng fine and itotow ang car mo at mawawalan ka ng car for 28 days + another fees.

Oh Ok, so basically pareho rin dito sa VIC, once napaso ang 6 months mo to legally drive with your overseas license, you need to stop driving or get a Learner's Permit and an L plate for you to drive (you need someone with a full license with you when you drive)..

So this statement above don't necessary applies to all pinoy, you only need undergo learner if paso na ang 3 or 6 months legality ng overseas license at hindi mo pa rin naipapasa ang lahat ng exam.

still NO! Clarify ko lang ulit.

Lahat ng Pinoy in WA kahit may license or wala eh bibigyan ng learners permit. After mo magtake ng Theory, magbabayad ka ng practical then iisuehan ka nila nito. Yan ung proof mo at gagamitin mo para magtake ng PDA or kung gusto mong palitan ang sched mo online. Pwede kang drive sa WA within 3 months using your phil license na hindi naka display ang L Plate mo. Pero after three months na di mo pa napapasa ang PDA mo eh kailangan mo idisplay ang L plate mo at drive ka na may kasamang fully license dito sa WA. If within 3 months period eh napasa mo na PDA eh hindi mo na kailangan idisplay ang L plate mo. Siguro ang confusion sa statement ko eh ung sa L plate & Learner Permit.

@tazmania - ah ok! Thanks for the clarification, so in WA, automatically na binibigyan ng learner's permit after taking theory exam. dito kasi optional yan.
