How much salary does one need to live comfortably in AU?

Given the fact that people/families differ in their lifestyle choices etc. How much would be considered a good per annum salary ...not just to get by, but with a good enough net for savings, travel and leisure?

    it depends bro, but if you want savings travel and leisure, I would say at least 75K is a good starting point.

    but then again, everybody has their own definition of comfortable. @soma

    How much po kaya for a family of three (toddler) in melbourne on a 457 visa so that means no medicare and childcare benefits yet? How much salary is needed to live a simple lifestyle? Hope to hear from you...thanks
