@momnijosh08 Hi, was just reading previous posts and was wondering kung may napasukan na po kayo? Yung wife ko din mejo nahihirapan. Sa finance din experience nya and nasa Hervey Bay kami, mas regional. We figured na most of the people really do odd jobs. Hindi kinakahiya dito kahit ano. Which I personally like kasi walang magiging discrimination regardless of what you do. Kaya for now she works in a small restaurant hoping one day na she'd land a more appropriate job related to her profession.

@dy3p hi. Kahit odd jobs wala for my hubby..job mismatch siguro kasi.
What I can suggest.. since you are working na baka you can save some para sa mga training. Or check mo may mga govt subsidized trainings baka meron related para maupgrade qualification nyo.
And per recruitment agencies... most of the coy naghahanap daw talaga ng oz experiemce regardless if odd job ito basta experience working here plus na talaga yon.

Anyways, sabi nila habang may buhay may pagasa!

Hi! Agree ako kay @momnijosh08 re: training to get oz qualification, kahit short course lang sa TAFE or other RTOs. In my case, yung course na kinuha ko was quite basic & ang laking subsidy from the government so I didn't pay much. Dito sa Queensland, if you don't have any Cert III/IV qualifications, they encourage you to take to enhance skills & improve employability kaya subsidised.
& may mga programs na kasama yung Work Experience where they help you connect with potential employers, train in the company for a couple of weeks (without pay), but if they like you, most companies would hire you na afterwards. You can still continue applying for jobs while you're taking the course (usually 3 days lang per week considered full time course na), and if you get a job during the course, may option to continue in the workplace, that is, kung related yung course sa nakuha mong job.
Sobrang win-win. Instead of waiting around at home for calls for interviews, you're learning or refreshing your knowledge, getting around & interacting with locals, & you get local qualification & a potential job in the end.

Pag nakuha mu na yung sched mu sa uni, i-presenta mu lng sa employer and they'll work around your sched. May mga call centre type of work din kung yun ang trip mu.
Uso din dito yung may “kakilala”. Malaking tulong yan lalo na pag lumaki na network mo. They are very particular with ones character references as well. Tatawagan talaga nila. One of the reasons why they hire someone na may work exp na dito.

Hi everyone. Magtatanong lang po ako regarding sa accomodation pagdating sa Oz(Brisbane), we are family of 3(2adults)+1child. Is it possible na makapa-apply na ng isang flat while nasa pinas pa? Para pagdating sa Oz may matutuluyan na. Pano ang ginawa nyong diskarte? Salamat sa magsshare.
@Lrac i believe not possible, kasi required ang viewing before you can actually apply for a property. not unless you have someone who can act on your behalf.

@agentKams Pano ba magandang diskarte? Air bnb muna or hotel for the 1st week at least? Thanks.
@Lrac try looking for short term accomodation. air bnb would be ok too. i would suggest, download application forms, prepare the requirements para pagdating niyo dito, when you go for viewing at magustuhan niyo property, you can submit instantly. 24 hrs turnaround lang naman iyong approval provided you have completed all checks.

Hi @shrinx29. Ok. Thanks.
shrinx29Singapore Posts: 77Member Joined: Feb 05, 2017

@shrinx29nice kahit papano nakakuha ka rin ng line of work mo here in brissy... line of work ko is rnd eng'g
@Lrac may mga forms sa website ng mga realtor, you can also call them so they can send you. normally 4 weeks bond + 2 weeks rent in advance nirerequire nila.
For the application you can scan and send, then wait for 24-48 hours sa pagprocess ng papers, pag approve then settlement na. Sang suburb po plano niyo magsettle here?

Hello guys.. I'm planning to move in Brisbane in September.
Salamat
