    Hi lock_code2004, i thought there is a requirement to prove a functional English capability for dependents 18 and older, and this is to avoid paying the extra AUD 4K+...

    @renjo : yup pero hindi naman po required ang IELTS for secondary applicant/dependents. if your wife can get a certificate indicating english as the primary medium of instruction from her college/university, that would be enough. this is assuming you're not getting partner skills points from your wife. tipid di ba? :)

    Bakit po kailangan mag ielts pa si misis? wala po ba syang certificate of english as medium of instruction from her college/university?

    for my wife's case, basta kumuha kami ng certificate from her university tapos naka-attach din ang diploma and TOR nya. :)

    Laking tipid din nito kahit papano....buti na lang pala at nagtanong ako at salamat na rin sa mga forumers na super bait sumagot =) Actually namroblema ako dahil dyan kasi wala ng slot ang IDP Makati for IELTS this December at deadline ng lodging ko sa e January na...

    Hi Everyone. Plan ko mag-exam dito sa Singapore on December 5. I am aiming for 8 overall band score para makuha ko yung maximum na 20 points sa skill select, ang taas ng pangarap ko. Hehe! :D Medyo worried ako sa speaking part, although yung job ko is client-facing and I regularly converse in english sa iba ibang lahi kaso naman ang usually pinag-uusapan namin is tungkol sa systems and issues nila. Eh di ba sa IELTS bibigyan ka ng topic and then kailangan mo i-discuss yun in one minute? Hindi pa naman ako naturally chatty and medyo allergic ako sa small talk so parang feeling ko kailangan ko mag-prepare ng mabuti for the speaking part.

    Uwi kaming pinas for Xmas and plan ko mag-enroll sa crash course ng 9.0 niner during our vacation. May nakapag-try na ba sa crash course nila? Gusto ko lang ng first hand info on how they prepare their students for the IELTS exam.

    Some info for you.
    You will be asked to come at 7:45 am. But the written exam will start at around 9 am. Finishes at 12 noon. Sa hapon ang speaking. Sa amin, sa same venue lang ang speaking test. Around 4:40 pa ang naging sched ko kaya umuwi muna ko ng 12 noon. Di ko sure kung taga-saan ang examiner ko but I did not hear any British accent. He speaks very clear to me that I don't need to ask him to repeat every question.

    Kala ko nung una, kaunti lang ang test-takers. Kasi wala ako kasabay na nagpa-register dati sa Brit. Council. Na-surprise na lang ako sa dami ng tao. Mostly mga Qatari students. Marami ring Pinoy. The ones I met were also aspiring Australian migrants.

    Yes, kung magke-claim ka ng points for your wife pero kung hindi certificates from school lang pwede na.

    @R_Yell, sir backread po kayo andaming tips para sa reading exam...basta wag kayo matakot na dumihan ng highlight at scribbles sa questionnaire. Mas magiging madali reading exam nyo :)
