@lizzie86 Sad to hear your frustration about IELTS... have your tried PTE?

A proof of your English proficiency will be required in all steps of the process toward Australian dream (AHPRA, ANMAC, PR), albeit some may be lower than others. Even a university will require a certain level.

The sad fact is, even if we pinoys are relatively good in our understanding and communicating in the English language, we still have to prove it in a standardized exam.

Bear in mind you were able to hurdle the rigors of the nursing course, don't let just one test let you down... kaya mo yan.

@cucci Thanks sa encouragement. :) I might actually try PTE this summer. Ang plano ko kasi kung mag conversion program ako then may reatake ako sa Australia ng PTE before finishing my studies for PR and APHRA regustration. However, as I was doing my school research karamihan dn ng universities eh 7 pa dn ang kelangan. ongoing na ba conversion prog mo?

@lizzie86 i did 1 year bachelor in nursing on a student visa and extended another 1 year student visa doing siploma in leadership and management. sa 2 years na yan, ako lang mag isa kasi og sinama ko si hubby, 40 hours p rin work rights nya and mgastos kya di ko sinama. di pa kami married nyan. after i finished diploma, umuwi ako and ngp kasal kami aug 26,2017. then back to aus na in effect pa din yung 2nd student visa ko.

    and here’s my timeline, 2017:
sept 6 - submitted skillselect and vic state nom application with 55+5
sept 7 - acknowledged by vic
oct 15 - claimed extra 5 points for 1 year AusRN exp so naging 60+5 ba
oct 30 - positive nomination and invition received
oct 31 - lodged 190 with hubby as dependent
nov 1 - expiry nung student visa
nov 2 - bridging visa A in effect
    dec 5 - direct grant

then just this january, umuwi ako for holidays and sinama ko na si hubby pabalik dito and he found a job within 11 days of arrival na and yung sweldo nya pumantay na saken kahit RN n yung sweldo ko haha.

@kymme wow nakaka inspire naman. So meaning while doing the leadership and management nagwork ka na as a nurse?kaya ka nakakuha ng additional na 5 points for your AU experience?Mind if I ask. Yung second diploma yr mo ba naipon mo ba from your part time job while doing your bachelors?Kaya ko na ask kasi d ba mas maganda 2 yrs ka nagaral sa AU para dagdag points for PR?

@lizzie86 oo nka claim din ako extra 5 for 2-yr aus study. and yes, after bachelor, ako n ngbbyad lahat ng tuition, visa, bills and wedding p nmin un nkpagpdala pa ako. hardwork lng tlga. and yes, yung 1 year AusRN exp, permanent part time while doing diploma in leadership. so hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. i arrived in Aus kasi with only 50 points. 22 lang ako nung dumating and wlang ma claim na exp. I got my PR before turning 25 din.

    Hello @kymme !

Pwede kaya na after 2 years of bachelor in nursing, mag continue ng studies for masters in nursing ng 1.5 years sa Australia din? If yes, does that mean na mas mataas ang magiging show money ko? Gusto ko kasi sabihin sa gte ko na i want to pursue being a clinical educator in my home country after my studies.

Yung syo ba, did you mention in your gte na plan mo din mag take ng leadership course?

    Thank you po in advance.

@shelly Hi. If you have the financial capabilities then go for it. Mej mahal lang (for me) and 2 years bachelor and a masters degree kasi international student rate pa yan e. Namahalan nako kahit 1 year bachelor lang. But its up to u. U dont have to really enrol to prove GTE. Mention mo lng yan yung goal mo.

@Fireonice Usually kapag wala kang experience, conversion course yung isa sa mga option mo. Depende kasi yun sa Uni, kung zero experience minsan ginagawa nilang 2yrs instead of 1 year yung conversion course.

@skyisthelimit I haven’t heard of the 3mos extension. Pwede kang magapply for another student visa kung gusto mong iextend yung stay mo rito sa Au or if you are eligible you may also apply for a Graduate Visa.

@Cassey thank you po sa info. Sabi kc nung agent ko kpg 1 yr conversion course meron 3 months ka na pede mgstay unlike kpg 2 yrs meron ka another 2 yrs to stay and look for a job. I'm trying to weigh my options po since I have been out of clinical pratice for the past 5 years. I'm torn kung ano mas ideal na kunin.

@skyisthelimit Usually yung binibigay na Visa, may added na 2mos after the course, pero hindi siya extension na iaapply. If you’ve been out of the practice for so long it’s ideal to do a longer conversion course BUT it would still depend on you. Kung may prior experience ka naman, 1yr isn’t bad.
