Academic IELTS po ang kelangan para sa mga accountants...Konti lang naman ang kaibahan ng Academic sa GT....imbes na Letter / Invitation gagawin sa Task 1...mag-iinterpret ka ng graph...

Tapos yung Reading exam mas mahaba yung passage. :)

If your job involves training or teaching other people, then you will need Academic IELTS.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt to double check hehe

Actually pabor sa mga accountants ang Academic IELTS kasi kadalasan data interpretation ang pinapagawa dun...in short, no need to think of a creative intro or content kasi kelangan mo lang ipresent yung dat :)

Thanks @psychoboy.. Is 189 visa much better than 489 visa...was just thinking that I could have additional 10 points..and would give me total of 75 points that would help to fast track my application...just asking your thoughts??

Sorry I dunno what is a 489 visa...

However you mentioned an additional 10 pts would give you 75 pts? Well and good but even if you just have 65 pts, automatically makakatanggap ka ng invitation pa rin when you lodge a 189 visa...

489 Regional Temporary Visa (valid for 4 yrs) which will require either:
    - State Sponsorship on a regional area (occupation should in CSOL)
    - or Relative Sponsorship (if your family is living in a designated area, and your occupation is in SOL Sched 1)
Restriction/s: you have to live and work in that regional area for 2 yrs.

    189- Independent skilled migrant
    - PR visa
    - No restrictions, you can live and work anywhere

This is an interesting point - pwede kaya?

As far as DIAC is concerned kasi, GENERAL lang ang kailangan... However, CPA Australia needs ACADEMIC for their requirements.

Having said the above, CPA Australia requirement has already been fulfilled but the applicant need a higher score so he/she is looking at taking a GENERAL module as this is definitely easier than the other one. I THINK PWEDE!!

I was exploring this option before but thankfully I need not act on it na. Needless to say, I have my opinion on the above but will DIAC agree with me is something I am not sure on.

@psychoboy hi po, I have a related question po...I had a favorable assessment from NIA before pa...during the time, di pa required and IELTS para maassess ng NIA... at hanggang ngyon di pa ko ng IELTS....for the skills assessment nmn ng NIA, di nmn required and IELTS kasi nga associate member na ko before 2012. Now, my question is, should I take GT or academic, since I'll be taking the exam for VISA application nalang ( this im not also sure)

Check with your assessing authority on this - I have no idea on the answer to your query as we did not undergo this route...

    @All,

This is a note from DIAC website:
There are two IELTS tests—an academic test and a general training test. You need to take only the general test UNLESS otherwise advised by your skills assessing authority.
So meaning kung may requirement na IELTS ang assessing authority, yun dapat ang kunin nyo.
I think (my opinion) hindi pwedeng gamitin ang General Test for the purpose of claiming points sa EOI, kasi alam nila ang requirements ng assessing authority..

but yeah, no one has tried it..
malay nyo pwede nga pala talaga...

if i may reply, may same case nyan dito.. i forgot the username..
so if you had your assessment when IELTS was not yet a requirement,
then pwede ka kumuha ng IELTS general test...
of course provided na valid pa rin ang assessment mo..

for sure meron answer nyan sa website ng assessing agency mo...

As per this website http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/migration-assessment/requirements-and-criteria, CPAs bound for Australia needed to pass the Academic IELTS module - 7 for each component (speaking, writing, listening, reading). For assurance, you ask the institution or the company (you are planning to apply to) about the required IELTS module and band score.

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

i have the same case. I got my CPA Australia assessment last Dec 2009. I took my first IELTS but I got 6.5 in writing and reading. Now I took my IELTS General Training. Malalaman ko results on Sept 11. Hopefully mka 7 sa lahat ng band score. Incase b na my below 7 ako,can you advise ano ang magandang gawin? nakakapagod din kasi kumuha ng ielts at magastos din.

If there's any other option than I can explore with, that would be better. Thanks,
