Just wanted to share and leave my experience here para sa mga kabayan who has chronic hepatitis B, like me.
Prior to the medical exam (for the visa), I looked for a liver specialist and requested to have these tests: hepatitis B e-antigen, liver function test, HBV DNA (quantitative), liver fibroscan. I then provided the test results sa panel clinic.
The E-antigen should be non reactive, liver enzymes within recommended range, HBV DNA will show the viral load and I've read somewhere na dapat less than 2k IU/mL daw dapat, the liver fibroscan will also show the current health of your liver.
These were my test results with the liver specialist:
Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) - Reactive
Hepatitis B Envelope Antigen (HBeAg) - Non reactive
ALT 24 U/L
HBV DNA 126 IU/mL
Liver fibroscan at 4.16 kPa
I was asked to sign a health undertaking and then visa was granted.
PS: In the visa medical exam questionnaire, it is included if may previous hepatitis B infection. And if you answered yes, then you will be required to undergo the hepa B testing.
PSS: Once in Australia, when you undergo any blood tests (be it for pregnancy or other screening) and they find out that you have reactive hepa B surface antigen, the clinic/hospital is required by the government to report it to the Department of Health.
PSSS: If the liver test results are not ideal, please discuss with your liver specialist to get your hepatitis B virus in control and your liver healthy first before the migration.
Good luck and all the best!
