  oki, cge... ehem ehem. dumating kami middle of march ni wifey dito sa SA. For 1 week getting a feel of the surroundings muna kami, we specialy like the place kasi malapit sa beach at tahimik. After that, every wednesday and saturday we buy the newspaper to search for oppurtunities aside of course from seek and career1. Nagattend kami ng mga information sessions ng government and we learned other techniques on job hunting.
  
  After 1 month of sending out applications and receiving rejections (actually most of them no reply), we went to a fruit and veggies market walking distance from our accomodation. The owner asked us if we are new to the place and upon knowing na jobless, he offered a job and support until we can find a full or part time job. Open nga lang sya from Fri-Sun. So, my wife and I accepted the offer, the thing is libre na kami with bread, milk, chocolate minsan, fruits and veggies etc. Meat na lang binibili namin so laking tipid and di na namin nagagalaw ang savings.
  
  Eventually, si esmi nakahanap ng part time work after a week so ako na lang nagwowork sa market.
  
  By the end of April nagenrol ako sa isang cert 3 course na funded ng govt. with a package of forklift license. It runs for about 3 months and since wala pa naman nagrereply sa mga inaplyan ko sabi ko aral muna ako ng konti. May 2 nga pala nagreply sa applictns ko but I failed kasi wala ako sasakyan. :-(. Then came the unexpected, my trainor in the cert 3 course asked me 1 day, out of the blue if I'm interested for a job. I said yes, without further hesitation. The next day he took me to the company without informing na yun na pala day I will get interviewed.
  1 time interview lang with the operations manager, hindi ako naintemidate because he was very laid back and questions were pretty straight forward. After the interview the manager asked me if i could start ASAP, as in ASAP. So all in all it took me 4 days from interview to completing the requirements to starting. It just happened 2 weeks ago the same time I successfully converted my Phil license to SA license. :-). I get to keep my job at the market on Sundays and they will sponsor me for further training and licensing of other forklift qualifications.
  
  ok yun lang. 3 months na kami dito and everything is unfolding smoothly.
  
  The reason nga pala I got recommended for a job and accepted is because of attitude shown in the training supported by referees.

  Sa tingin ko madali magkatrabaho dito sa Australia if you are not choosy. Pero kung gusto mo talaga yung sa linya mo, it will take time. Samahan nyo lang ng prayers.

  @donking Congratulations! I am interested with the three-month training for forklift license. Hehe. How much does it cost? My problem is, tagilid ako sa skills. I only have one year of industry experience at sa Pinas pa yun. I am actually planning to go for visa 476 and if I will really find it hard to land a job, I intend to just use my time for trainings and internships.

  libre yung cert 3 course ko kasama ang forklift license, it was funded by the government. Kung kukuha ka ng certification sa forklift it will cost you around 300~400. Pwede naman magtraining while looking for a job. Madami jobs dito basta di ka lang choosy. Menial jobs here are well paid.

Question lang po, paano nyo po nalaman na may free government funded cert III courses pala?   @Rubled22 - ask the education provider if there are any government funding for a course that you may be interested in. Ako, I took a Cert 2 in Tourism last month, instead of 2K, ang binayaran ko was $500 lang as it was partly paid by the Victorian Gov't.

  I don't have a link for this... As mentioned above, when I inquired about the Certificate 2 in Tourism, the funding was offered to me by the admissions officer. Maybe google can help you for your specific training requirement which can be funded by the gov't.

  @Rubled22 We receive a local newspaper from our council weekly, so dun ko nabasa yung advertisement ng training provider nila about a free forklift course + the free forklift licensing. Sa ngayon yung upgrade ko sa forklifting e.g. cherry picker, OL and OF will be payed by my employer in due time. Matindi kasi pangangailangan nila sa warehousing sector dito kaya magpapatraining sila ng free just to get qualified personnel. All you need is to diversify.
  
  Saka mo na hanapin yung "dream" job mo after you get experience. Pero kung masarapan ka naman sa bagong buhay mo bat ka pa lilipat?

  Thanks a lot @donking - good vibes. nakakainspire tlaga yung share mo - kaya sinipagan ako magpass sa seek.com.au - pasa lang ng pasa... ayon may nagreply na... they want to see me and interview immediately pag dating ko - i know hindi pa sya sure job but at least umuusad - tama po kayo and other forumers here, sipag lang talaga plus prayers.

  thanks a lot master @lock_code2004. Last week of August po. According s schools na tumawag saken, Sept. - November daw kasi hiring period ng job ko... Just in time lang daw po ung dating ko ng August. Nagbabakasakali lang makakuha ng work in line with my career here in the phil. (super bonus un) but no problem naman saken odd jobs.

  i just got two calls today.. first interview after 2 months of applying from outside of AU..
  at magkasunod pa tlaga today.. sinabi agad ang sweldo, san ang office etc.. weird lang
  
  tapos yung isang company pinagawa ako ng essay, send ko daw within today..
  im not expecting anything, but atleast this is a good sign..
  there is hope... bow..

  @ianne27 basta advise ko lang sa interview whether panel or 1 on 1 is just to be just yourself and know whats on your resume. :-D. Just getting the interview is your nearly there. cguro mga 80%. magfafail ka lang sa little things. Before they will ask you for an interview they already have a picture of you as a potential employee. They wont waste their time if they dont think you wont do good. Basta you just have to "smash" it. GL

  Ok game ako naman. Pampainspire.
  Dumating kami sa Brisbane 2nd week ng June. So nung paglapag namin dito sympre first week pasyal pasyal kasi inde pa din nag ssink in samin na andito na kami sa lugar na ilang taon naming pinangarap mapuntahan, ilang milyong visit sa website para lang macheck kung nainvite na kami, araw araw na pagtawag sa clinic kung naupload na yung medicals, minuminutong pag check sa email kung may case officer na, nakakaumay na refresh ng page kung nareceive na yung uploaded files namin, at sandamakmak na kung anu ano pang pangungulit....at finally "The day that the Lord has made" ay dumating na...at fast forward...andito na kami sa brisbane airport.
  Bago pa kami dumating dito ni mind set ko na talaga na 3 months bago ako makakakuha ng trabaho. Before pa, madami na kong nisubmit na applications pero panay rejection letter o kaya ang iba dedma lang. Pakatapos nung unang linggong simba namin, apply apply na naman ulit kasi madaming time eh walang magawa. Ganun pa din , panay rejection letter at dedma sa inaapplyan ko. Usually daw talaga kasi inaantay ng recruiter yung closing date bago magsimula yung recriutment process. May apat na versions ako ng CV at cover letter para may konting customisation din kasi advise ng madami na ipersonalize daw bawat application eh pero kasi mahirap nakakatamad gawin kaya bawat application ko sa SEEK at CAREERONE ay isang mabilisang upload/submit lang. So sa madaling sabi araw araw bawat umaga ay SEEK at CAREERONE ang focus ko. Nagbigay ulit ako ng deadline sa sarili ko na after 1 month na wala pa eh mag apply ako sa MCDO. Dumating ang ikatlong linggo at nakabingwit din ako ng isang recruiter, pakatapos ng isang exam at apat na interviews sa isang buung linggo…. At dun na nagsimula ang “the rest of our lives” dito sa Australia. Kung di ko nakuha tong offer na to, wala na din akong ibang options din kundi si MCDO at iba pang odd jobs which I don’t mind doing. Inde ko sasabihing madaling makakuha ng trabaho, siguro kombinasyon lang ng determination/faith/swerte/good timing/opportunity ang nangyari sakin na inde imposibleng mangyari sa iba. As we speak, kumakain ako ng lunch ko dito sa office habang binibisita si pinoyau na naging malaking parte na ng aming paglalakbay. Maraming salamat po.
