Hey Everyone! Admin here, It's a bit overdue but I will be migrating our forum site to a new platform for better security. I will take out all the ads as well as these pesky spammers. Please expect a bit of issues here and there, and will slowly move the features to the new one. Don't worry we are very much alive and will be alive as long as I'm here :)

Bumping this up as it’s tomorrow 👆 registration closing soon! Don’t miss out
@King Tim both the skills assessing authority and immigration will only recognise the last 10 years of employment so no point providing docs beyond this timeline.
@angel14 I’ve never handled a case wherein ACS had to ask for additional docs so if they’re requesting for more, I strongly suggest to comply. Obviously, they are not quite satisfied with what you have provided. Refer to the ACS guidelines with rega…
@Supersaiyan don’t rely on employers to write the letters for you. You’re better off drafting it yourself then they just sign the letter once they agree that the info you’ve written there is correct. That way you avoid hassling them too much.
@patotoy thanks for your nice comment. However, I must say the agents you have been describing are most likely not registered and qualified ones so just be careful with making general comments on this forum as it may taint the the other agents’ repu…
@cjgr that’s a personal choice I must say since no one can ever predict the available options by the time one is ready to lodge the EOI. At your own risk.
I always tell clients/prospective clients not to delay things if they are serious about m…
@pinanay you’re better of asking an explanation from the assessing authority rather than comparing syllabus from previous applicants. That way, you can argue your case better as you cannot reason to them based on the results of previous applicants. …
@pcasing as per immigration legislation, it only considers onshore experience if the applicant is in Australia. Hence, it’s called “onshore”. Which stage of your application are you at now?
The assessing authority would most likely consider yo…
@cyborg5 this only applies to low skilled workers such as agricultural, hospitality industry, etc. I believe most of the people in this forum are highly skilled, hence it won’t be relevant.
@whoisluis the education part does not need to be assessed. All your friend should know is under which section his university falls under. He needs to check through Country Education Profile (CEP)which is created by the Australia’s Department of Edu…
@yani1127 null
That is very strange I must say. We talk about these things amongst fellow registered migration agents and even skills assessors during round table meetings. At times ACS will deduct years prior to the last 10 years but they will de…
@yani1127 that’s impossible, I’m afraid. Section 1 universities automatically get 2 years deduction at the least depending on the discipline of studies and how relevant it is with the occupation. Even our clients here in the UK get the same. And thi…
@ixangguk I’ve been very vocal about not recommending the student Visa pathway despite the fact that I did this route myself many years ago. It’s expensive and not guaranteed way to get a PR especially these days. Be mindful that businesses tend to …
@wanderlust12 the link I provided isn’t my website, that’s the regulatory body. That’s the best tool to find legit agents. Should you wish to enquire about my company’s services, feel free to contact my office, one of my staff will be in touch. All …
@wanderlust12 I only assist as per what the client requires. Anything I can help you with? Feel free to browse through www.mara.gov.au as this is the professional body which regulates professionals like me. You’ll find the requirements needed to be …
@wanderlust12 I believe an agent who practices proper ethics and with integrity has to be selective of clients. There’s no point accepting cases when we know it’s a weak case as it would just be a waste of money for the applicant. Unfortunately, the…
@tina3836 TRA explained it well, the occupation you want to be assessed is not a recognised occupation for migration purposes for obvious reasons - it’s not on the occupation list at all! There goes the answer to your question. Skills assessment and…
Pastry cook is a separate occupation. Use the occupation list as your guide. You cannot apply under chef and provide evidences for pastry cook. Chef specialisation would be commercial cookery, Asian cookery.
@Hunter_08 @groovez10 this all depends on how the government will implement the new rule if there is to have one. It’s not for us to assume and speculate.
@cyborg5 there are two authorities to consider in relation to formal qualification. When claiming points, you deal with immigration requirements. You can claim 15 points if qualification is equivalent to at least an Australian bachelor degree, relat…
@pissedball the sectioning has never been ignored. Qualifications from a section 2 university may be recognised as equivalent to an Australian degree subject to meeting certain criteria. Hence, applicants may still be able to claim 15 points in the …
@chenel010305 well, be open with the fact that stuff dent pathway is expensive and not a guaranteed route. As an agent, I don’t encourage my clients to opt for this based on both my professional and personal experience.
@chenel010305 it is now but by the time you finish your course maybe it isn’t anymore. I’vevaleays been vocal about not being a fan of student Visa being a pathway to PR despite the fact that Can’t you apply for Pr visa now? You don’t need to be a …
