Hello! Bale I'm already close to getting my skills assessment outcome (sana talaga mag positive!) and about to do my PTE na next week. Hopefully before November ends, makapag-EOI na ako.
Just want to set my expectations for the 189 and 190 visas:
1) Pre-pandemic po ba, ano ang trending when it comes to receiving ITA? Ilang months normally?
2) Sa mga inabutan ng pandemic, gaano po katagal kayo before naka-receive ng ITA? Grant? Offshore/onshore?
3) I've already asked this before pero I want to get more insights dun sa mga less competitive na occupations (non-pro-rata). Ano pong ang mga points niyo and gaano kayo katagal nakatanggap ng invite?
4) If you could also share some insights/observances na napansin niyo sa trending ng invites, that would be great!
Thank you in advance!

Thank you po for these insights! I'm seeing lots of articles pertaining to AU discussing na the comeback of skilled migration, even doubling it to boost the economic recovery of AU. Sa tingin niyo po, would they ease the criteria in the points system?

Nothing has been officially announced nor spoken about points so can’t really comment about the easing of points until it comes from DHA

Hello po. Try ko magbigay ng aking observations.
Di ko na sasagutin ng per-bullet point, pero I hope this helps.
Nag-apply ako noong 2018-2019, pre-pandemic. Back then, naabutan ko pa ang fornightly invitations.
And kung pro-rata ka, expect 70 is good enough to get an invite quickly.
Then shortly after, naging monthly ang invitation In my case, I had 65 points nung nagsubmit ako EOI last June 2018. Updated the system to reflect ang higher PTE score ko ng January 9. On Jan 11 2019, I received my ITA. And just three months after that, napansin ko na hindi na rin enough ang 75 to get invites based sa napansin kong trends.
In short, the trend doesn't look good. Nababawasan ang frequency ng invites and number of invites.
Lumala pa nung dumating ang COVID. More on onshores ang grants and more on health-related professions.

@mamertz thank you po for this!
Grabe talaga yung trend when it comes sa points. Sobrang taas na ngayon ng requirement. Yung mga pro-rata naman umaabot na ng mga 95 ang minimum dapat to get ITA.
And grabe nagstart pala yan sa fortnightly, naging monthly, tapos ngayon quarterly na.

When I got all my docs ready for lodging back in 2017, 65 pts lang need for 189. I was 22 back then so ang max na nakuha ko is 60 pts. Imagine my frustration when the only thing na magawa ko is wait for 3 years to turn 25 para 65 pts na ako, pero of course the invites got extremely competitive by that time. I was joking to my mom na dapat pinanganak nya ako mas maaga lol

Yes 60 lang minimum nun pero 65 was enough to be invited. If I remember correctly they raised the minimum to 65 back in 2019. I was even checking the invites dati sa immi website for 2016 and 60 lang need nun. For the last 5 years hindi na bumaba ang pts for invite, always tumataas yearly.

I'd say competitive. Pro rata ang electronics engineering since 2016 until now. Hindi na kasi nag apply ang rules from years back, ngayon kahit gano ako kataas sa pts di na ako maiinvite simply because they don't invite certain occupations now, kahit 90 pts na ang meron ako because of AU regional study. Ang laban is hindi na sa pts, it's the occupation it seems.

haha yeah it sucks, pero nothing we can do except adjust. Buti nalang ginawa ko tong AU journey agad agad, I know that people 4 yrs ago probably didn't take me seriously when I said I wanted to migrate to Australia haha. Fresh graduate ako nun pero I'd say that this is the best decision of my life.

Opo. 60 pts minimum lang noon. Nung nag apply ako ng 2018, naging 65 ang minimum. Tapos naging monthly na ang invites. That time, 70 pts naman ang required to get invited quickly.
Then , mga 2nd quarter ng 2019 , yung 70 pts di na rin enough . EVentually naging quarterly na ang invites.
Hopefully, after this pandemic magbalik ang lahat sa normal gaya ng dati.

Would you guys think na may chance for invite ang 85pts for a "non" pro rata occupation? I am a civil engineer and based on my research nasa top 16 sya na may mataas na ceiling invitation.
Would you think 85pts is enough (visa 189) or I still need to increase it to 90 pts? Pinag-iisipan ko pa kasi if I will take the CCL exam.
Thank you!

You all need to understand, the trend you all are discussing is a temporary trend due to the covid situation. No one can expect invite right now if you’re offshore because it’s not a priority at the moment. Best you can do now is maximise the points you could get and lodge the EOI ASAP so you’re in the queue. There really is no point understanding how much points needed for an invite or how often invites happen - monthly, quarterly etc because these are not applicable right now if you’re offshore. The best strategy is be document ready to prepare when things go back to normal - with Australia slowly opening borders, we are getting there.

Actually ako I'm nominating Statistician (224113) and walang competition sa occupation na yun, I guess okay yun? Haha! The maximum points I can get (for now) is 70 points. Early next year magkaka +10 ako for age and work experience, reaching 80 points.
Actually pinagiisipan ko din yung NAATI. Pero naisip ko, with all the current news ngayon sa Australia na may balak na silang ibalik yung migration pathway PLUS a "surge" in migrants (December daw, not sure), may mga nagsasabi na baka i-ease nila yung criteria for skilled visa or bilisan yung pag-invite. Kasi nga daw, yun yung sagot nila for post-pandemic recovery. Pero syempre take their words with a grain of salt, kasi di naman natin mappredict yung mga ganyan. Yung news source ko is Channel AMEC and also yung mga reputable news articles.
I hope totoo nga. Ang mahal din kasi ng NAATI kung tutuusin.

Wasn’t referring to you particularly I just replied addressing all who made comments. Was also referring to comments about trends right now and not to trend pre pandemic. The purpose of the comment was to appease members here and guide them to the best direction possible right now and wasn’t meant to be directed at you or cause offence. I don’t think I negated what the things you mentioned but rather added up more insights to what is relevant right now. We’re all here to help.

I guess atm we can only hope that it goes well and more offshore grants be given out. Its quite hard to establish a trend at this point in time due to our situation and with sudden changes in policies.

1 is so true. Pre pandemic, only people with 90 points and above are being invited. I did a lot of research, read forums and followed the invitation rounds. This is the reason why I delayed taking PTE and be able to submit my EOI. I was at 50 pts and taking PTE could increase my points to 70 in which will allow me to submit my EOI. I lose hope and forgot about my dream. I waited for a year because of this so called "trend". A very big mistake. Pandemic happens last March 2020. By September 2020, almost 300 Medical Lab Scientist were invited for 189 visa with 65 minimum points. I was shocked I couldn't believe it. If you were reading the forums during this time, you would also believe there's no way people below 90 points will be invited. This drove me to sit for PTE on October 2020. I passed it and lodged my EOI immediately at 70 pts. November 2020, my points increased by 5 pts due to additional experience. October 29, 2021 I got invited for 491 FS (offshore) at 75+15 pts.
I settled for less and lose so much time due to this "trend". It would be a different case if I'd hired an agent. She/He would have pushed me to sit for English exam ASAP. I believe I knew so much from my readings and research that I don't need one. A costly mistake.
Here's my advice to you. Do not base your applications on "trends" as DHA is unpredictable. Now they are inviting 90, next round they could be inviting 65.
Lodge your EOI ASAP and wait. I'm sharing this so you could learn from my experience.
