Skills4All and Centrelink's Jobseeker assistance (?)

Hi, I just want to inquire sa mga naka-attend ng skills4all training and yun mga nabigyan job seeking advice from Centrelink office, what information or assistance ba yun nieextend nila?

We recently flew to AU for few days lang, I was able to do all the necessary registrations required for new migrants. I went to Medicare/Centrelink office to regs for medicare and I saw dun sa releasing of queue numbers yun "JobSeekers". I wasn't able to inquire further about it kase iba yun queue number for medcare regs. I checked HumanServices website, seems related lang sa Newstart Allowance yun assistance nila, tama ba?

As for the skills4all, they don't have online booking pala, you need to go there and book your slot, mabilis daw maubos. Latest sched na nitry nila ibigay sometime Oct na. Yun training ba more on CV update lang? Kase the lady I spoke to couldn't give more info unless I book a training, khit sinabi ko na I'm on short visit lang.

    Centrelink Jobs assistance for our case (with my wife) was more like they just handed to us the list of agencies where we can pass our resumes to, depending on our expertise. Not that helpful really, but it might be case to case basis depending on the center that youll go to.

    Newstart allowance is only for PR who had stayed in AU for 2 years at the least.

    @sebastian04 thanks bro! saang state ka pala?
    so bihira pala nakakapag-claim ng newstart allowance. Tsaka bkit kaya tinawag na newstart allowance kung after 2 years pa sya pwede i-avail :)

    @dhey_almighty o nga, dapat yata ang itawag nila dun is extra allowance, para sa mga di pa rin makahanap ng job after a year or so.

    @sebastian04, thanks!

    Centrelink would give agency to help you look for job. Actually ang nangyari sa amin, nirefer kami sa isang agency tapos ang assistance na mabibigay nila are free use of landline, computers, and printer. Di daw nila kami mabibigyan ng agent kasi hindi pa kami nakakakuha ng allowance sa government.
    Skills For All, ok yung resume writing seminar nila. May mga nakuha naman ako na tips kasi yung resume ko patterned pa sa PHL. May mga seminars pa sila na tungkol sa job interviews. Pag nag register ka sa resume writing, may irerefer sila na staff nila to help you sa pag review ng resume at cover letter.

    thanks for this @chelimpin. ok din pala skills4all, hopefully maka-attend ako nyan when i get back there.

    Btw, what do they mean about dun sa wala pa daw kse kyo nakukuha allowance from govt, were they referring to newstart allowance? If yes, so after 2 years pa din sila makakapagbigay ng agent to assist, tama ba?

    @manofsteel parang sabi nila since hindi pa naka 2years, hindi pa daw kasama yun sa benefits na makukuha. Kaya nilubos lubos lang namin ang gamit ng landline nila. Tinawagan lahat ng pwedeng applyan.
    Sa skills for all din pwede makahanap ng free courses in case gusto mo na mag change ng career

    Yup, for us as jobseekers yan lang ang assistance nila. Priority kase nila yung mga talagang disadvantaged sa paghahanap ng trabaho, eg mga disabled, mga galing rehab, recovering from accident or illness, low income families, mothers rejoining the work force, etc. Especially for skilled migrants, we are expected to have sufficient means and qualifications to find jobs that are suitable for us so Centrelink can only do so much.

    Hello all,
    Sino Po dito nakaexperience Sa skills for all bago Lang? Or kahit late 2014? Would U advise us (new jobseekers Diyan) to enrol Sa skills for all?
    I've checked their website, wala Kasi schedule and training details, unlike Sa Skillmax Sa Sydney Na mayroon.
