Pay is per hour. I work Monday,Tuesday,Thursday, Friday. I'm doing the tax but my employer do the super.

I think Network Engineering work here at the moment needs other skills other than cisco. You might want to take other technologies like juniper, checkpoint, f5, vmware to become more marketable. Otherwise, you will find it hard to get a job. One more thing, more and more IT jobs becomes contractual here. It may not be safe for others to come this time specially if you are giving up your career and have a big family unless you have enough fund and relatives to stay while looking for work. Hope this could give you some insight of what you will get into when you are here in Australia (Sydney).

Had read about Skiva training and ibternship program. Nag-inquire na rin ako. Their programs looks ok. But would want to hear from anybody muna before I give it a go. Malaki din kc yung fee eh.

@Mariechelle, yes they do. But it would be nice if you had certification in your field. Like me I'm a Technical test analyst I have my advance technical test analyst certification and now I'm a Product Manager I have my Certified Scrum Master and Prince2 and ITIL

Hi guys.. i feel that i need to inform our kababayan not to rely much on SEEK. Mag oopen sana ako ng bagong thread pero hindi ko mahanap kung paanu.. any way... back to topic about seek.. most seek advertisements are from agency and agency gets the the requirement from companies.. so if the company tells 10 agencies that they need 1 engineer then these agencies will advertise that they need 1 engineer.. however since 10 of them are advertising, it will look like that there are 10 engineering jobs in australia but in fact only 1 vacancy. Try to check the requirements on the job advertisement if they somewhat match with other advertiser then its a good chance that they advertise the same vacancy.. why am i saying this.. kasi may mga nakasama na ako katrabaho na sabi nila akala nila madali makahanap ng work pag nandito na sa australa (me included) kasi madame sila nakita sa seek but in reality it took them 6months.. yung iba swerte pero you cant rely much on luck if you have limited amount of money. Not to discourage but if bring more money so you wont be stress while applying for a job especially kung wala kayo tutuluyan at uupa lng ng bahay. Atleast 6 months worth..

hi, curious din po ako kung ano ung current demand ng IT professional right now in australia.. I'm a software engineer(.net to be exact) , just want to know kung may mga demand ba ngaun. A friend told me na bleak daw ang oppurtunity ngaun sa IT sa Aus, though not sure if this is based on exp or swertihan lng talga.

Hi, up ko lng tong thread in case may makapagbigay ng insight how's the demand ngaun for IT jobs (programmer, business analyst, project management). Parang madami kasi nahihirapan makakuha ng work at inaabot ng ilang months although not sure kung ganun ung case sa IT ngaun >_<

@kriskringle Hello! Depende po sa assessing body like sa ACS di requires and IELTS so inuna ko ACS then saka ako nag IELTS. Not sure sa iba like EA, VET-ASSES etc.

Kung hindi namam required, better wait for the assessment results muna then saka mag Ielts para di masyado magastos.

Yung skills assessment costs 500AUD. Kahit saan nagwork, pwede magpa-assess. Required naman po ang assessment for visa processing.

@bourne Hi again.. I forgot to ask if may copy po ba kayo ng list of skilled occupation. Appreciate po if you can share it. I am a Database Developer and cant find the specific occupation on their list if I am under Developer Programmer or Analyst Programmer. Or sa result ng assessment malalaman kung sang occupation ka mag-fall?

I think you can be considered as Database Administrator (262111), which is under Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List or CSOL? Occupations that are under CSOL require state sponsorship (visa subclass 190).

Ano pala mostly ginagawa mo as Database Developer?

Nature ng work ko is focusing on ETL (ETL Developer ako specifically). May part din na nagmimigrate ng objects from one source database to other destination database.

@kriskringle, i see.. pag magpa-assess ka, ikaw kasi maglalagay ng occupation. Sympre dapat based sa job description mo, kung sa tingin mo pasok ang job description mo under Database Admin then choose that. Otherwise, pwede mong iconsider yung ibang occupation.
