sir @adelaide_boi stupid question if you don't mind. when you say members you are referring to those people who had their skills assessed by ACS and passed the assessment? or you have to still do something to be a CP like joining fee or eligibility test? please enlighten me. thanks.

ACS Skilled Assessment is different from ACS certification, although they are interconnected. Once you have you a positive skills assessment, you can apply for ACS membership with a complimentary regrade to Certified Professional (CP) status as a result of positive skilled migration assessment. A fee of $320 applies.

Non-Australian residents can also apply for ACS membership and be awarded with CP status once satisfies the ACS criteria on Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) through skills and qualification assessment. ACS Certified Professionals are highly recognized across the globe with counterparts in USA, Canada, UK and Singapore. It is a gateway to formal networking opportunities to forge connections with prospective employers. ACS members are bound by ICT professional standard code of ethics.

Members receive discounts on ICT trainings, dining, entertainment, holidays, with free seminars, freebies, and lots more. A fee of $320 is well worth it.

thanks for the info sir @adelaide_boi. as of now $320 is still quite hefty on my part i'll just sign up when i have work already. as ironic as it may seem that this membership might give me an edge in finding a job. i'm still not confident about what will happen to me when i get there. *whew*

see you in adelaide in january sir. :D

Got your drift. ACS membership is just an added value to your qualification but it doesn't guarantee of landing a job easily. Having a CP status may however expand your network opportunities to prospective employers but it all boils down to the techniques on how your resume stands out from others and how to sell yourself during the job interview.

    Cheers.

I asked my boss right now if having MACS CP status really holds any weight for prospective employers, he said yes, for government role it does matter.
