    Hello po ulit ma'am@Cassey. Medyo naguguluhan po kasi ako sa pathway na pwede kong kunin. Ano po ba advantage ng conversion course?yan ba yong mag aaral ng nursing for 1 year? Tapos after ba nyan ma'am, magiging PR na ako agad? Kasi parang karamihan sa mga nababasa ko nag conversion, eh parang ang haba po kasi ng 1 year hehe. Pwede bang mag part time while nag conversion course po? Sorry sa mahabang tanong ma'am. Salamat po sa time :)

    @Aryanna Ang advantage is makakakuha ka ng student visa at mas mahaba yung time so pwede kang magwork ng 20hrs a week. Mukha lang matagal but in reality it’s not like a whole year dahil may mga 2weeks na school holiday in between the school terms. It’s less than a year’s time. Hindi ka magiging PR kaagad. Kahit bridging, hindi automatically given ang PR.

    After the course, kailangan mong magregister as RN sa AHPRA, then do a Skills Assessment sa ANMAC. Once you got a positive result, apply ng skill select. Wait to be invited. Kapag naimbitahan ka depending on your points, that’s the only time na makakapagapply ka for PR.

    Update from Monash:

    The Monash bridging program for internationally trained registered nurses is changing

    Our new program, the Australian Nursing Studies (ANS) stream, is currently undergoing accreditation by ANMAC, and will be housed in two specific units (conducted concurrently in one semester) within the Masters of Advanced Nursing. Students wishing to take the ANS stream will need to meet entry requirements for the Master of Advanced Nursing and extra entry requirements which are specific for ANS. Enrolments in the ANS stream are capped and there will be an interview process for entry into the ANS stream.

    Students may take an early exit from the Masters of Advanced Nursing upon the completion of the ANS stream and will received a Graduate Certificate of Advanced Nursing and be eligible for registration as a nurse in Australia (subject to accreditation of the ANS stream by ANMAC). Alternatively, students may continue with their studies to complete the Master of Advanced Nursing. Please note that students exiting with Graduate Certificate of Advanced Nursing and enrolling only in the ANS stream units would undertake half of the annual full-time course load and
    consequently incur half of the annual full time course fee for the Masters of Advanced Nursing.

    Current indications are that the accreditation is likely to be finalised by late March
    and we will have the first intake into the ANS in Semester 2 2019. Looking forward, the ANS units will be taught in Semester 1 (starting late February/early March) and Semester 2 (starting mid/late July) is succeeding years. It is anticipated that admissions to the ANS stream will be competitive and applicants may need to exceed the entry requirement to be offered an interview or enrolment in the stream.

    Course Details – the Australian Nursing Studies stream and Master of Advanced Nursing

    Applications are now open for the Semester 2 2019 intake for the Master of Advanced Nursing (commencing 29 July 2019). Please find below course links and detailed information on the Master of Advanced Nursing and Australian Nursing Studies stream.

    Course link

    Students are welcome to apply for the MAN and study other units pending
    application for the Australian Nursing Studies stream; however, they need to
    meet all entry criteria prior to applying for the ANS, and also be successful
    at interview to be offered a place in the ANS stream. Entry into this
    stream will be very competitive as places are limited. There is no guarantee of
    a place.

    Additional Entry Requirements for the Australian Nursing Studies stream
    Additional selection criteria for Australian Nursing Studies Specialisation

    Be an overseas qualified nurse with a qualification that is equivalent to that required of a degree qualified Australian trained registered nurse;
    Provide a personal letter of eligibility to undertake a registered nurse bridging program from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Bridging programs are only available to internationally qualified nurses and midwives who are required by the National Board under s 53(c) of the National Law to undertake a bridging program following an assessment of their qualifications.). Students will not be considered for entry into ANS until they obtain and present their letter of eligibility from AHPRA;
    Have practised as a registered nurse in an acute care* ward for at least one year within the 5 years prior to the application;
    Be able to obtain current Police and Working with Children checks regarding their suitability to undertake such placements once accepted into ANS
    Be able to obtain relevant vaccinations and infectious disease screening tests prior to clinical placements (see course requirements for more information) once accepted into ANS.
    * Acute care refers to clinical health-care functions, including medical care, emergency medicine, trauma care, pre-hospital emergency care, acute care surgery, critical care/ intensive care, urgent care and short-term inpatient stabilisation (or at discretion of course coordinator).

    @Cassey Hi Cassey hello gusto lng sana ask kasi sa case ng husband ko lumipat na kami s Aus as PR last April 2014 tas ng work na sya as PCA in aged care since pglipat nmin. Ngyn plng napasa yng PTE with required scores for AHpra so ngyn palang sya start apply for registration. Since hindi na abot yng recency of practice dn sa exp nya kasi hindi pasok within recent five years mg try pa ba kami apply registration for ahpra or sa uni nlng kami mg try and see if makakuha sya advanced standing for getting a bachelor of nursing here in Melbourne? May ng try nb to apply for registration without the minimum 450 hours of recency of practice? Thanks

    Yung 450 hrs na yun is needed for BP. If he doesn’t have that experience within the last 5years then he can just directly apply to Uni since hindi rin siya eligible for BP. He can apply for a conversion course so that he can gain a registration here in Au.

    @Cassey thank you pala sa last reply mo reg sa english test :)
    my sis opted for conversion sa deakin (jul intake) at nkpag bayad na kami ng downpayment na 17k .. ouch!
    so another question po sana .. iv read on another thread na if they can come earlier than the start sa class they can opt to study cert3? naisip kc namin if shell come lets say 2mnths early then she can make use of her time to study cert3 since drin naman sia pde mag work pa. have u known anyone sis that has done this? sabi nmn sa aecc website as long as indi cricos provider ang school pde sia mag sabay ng isa pang course. we will chek wd d agent din this option once she obtains her student visa. we are thinking kc na if she has cert3 mas madali and mas mrami options to do part time work considering 1yr sia mag aaral sa deakin.
    thanks n advance sa reply! :)

    https://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/News/2019-02-05-bridging-programs-for-internationally-qualified-nurses.aspx

    05 Feb 2019

    The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) today provided an update on bridging programs for internationally qualified nurses.

    The NMBA is aware that some internationally qualified nurses who have applied for registration in Australia and been referred to bridging programs are unable to find places in accredited programs. The role of the NMBA is to protect the public in accordance with the National Law, by ensuring that only suitably qualified and competent people are registered to practise. This is a matter of public safety.

    The NMBA approves accreditation standards and accredited courses of study leading to registration as a nurse or a midwife.

    The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) is the independent accrediting authority for nursing and midwifery education. ANMAC is responsible for determining whether programs of study for nurses and midwives seeking to practise in Australia meet the required accreditation standards.

    The NMBA and ANMAC have a responsibility to ensure that all programs of study meet standards which contribute to safe and quality nursing practice in Australia.

    Bridging programs are offered by independent education providers, who must demonstrate that they meet the required standards of the NMBA. The NMBA and ANMAC do not determine the number of places available in bridging programs, this is determined by the education providers who are able to meet the standards.

    Any applicant who has been referred to bridging and is unable to find a program place within the timeframe set out in their referral letter should contact the Registration Officer provided on their referral letter, to discuss their individual circumstances.

    @hellomimi Pwede po kayong humingi ng professional reference galing sa nurse supervisor indicating job description, hours worked, whether part or full time and other details. You can check out the ANMAC format since you will need the same professional reference for ANMAC later on anyway.

    Hi guys! ano ano yung full requirements for AHPRA registration? Mag DIY lang kasi ako since nandito na din ako sa AU :) need ba ipa authenticate lahat ng documents like yung Board Certificate at Certificate of passing? tsaka paano kaya yung Certificate of Good Standing since nandito na ako sa AU. Plan ko ipa kuha nalang sa brother ko. Ano mga po need na documents na ipakita sa PRC? Thank you so much po!

    @anamarie May list po si @Cassey sa post nya dito. I think almost the same documents pa rin naman kahit na mag-take effect na yung bagong pathway.

    If you have the original documents with you, have them photocopied into A4, reduce if larger than A4 and bring them to a JP for certification.

    As to the COGS from PRC, I answered your query here.
