Hello mga kabayan! Gusto ko lang din magshare ng mga tips on how to land a job at sana makatulong.

So sinunod ko un mga nakalagay dun sa pamphlet of EA for migrant engineers.

No.1 - Practice English. So kailangan talaga masanay tayo sa english, marami din kasi n iba iba un accent. Meron british accent, meron accent ng non-native speakers katulad natin at iba pang expat like arabs, indians, greeks, italians, chinese, koreans, japanese, british at marami pang iba. Sydney is definitely one of the multicultural cities kasi kahit saan ka lumingon may makikita ka na ibat ibang lahi.

No. 2 - Networking. Suggestions, attend seminars ng organization like Engineers Australia, attend events of expat communities like linkedin, internations, or pinoyau kung meron man or kahit anung expat community. Through Internation, nakakuha ako ng work through referral. So who knows, baka un ung way para makanap ng trabaho. Kaya wag mahiya and meet other people/professional. Un nameet ko is hindi engineer but through him nakakuha ako work. So keep widening up your connections. And above all, nagpapasalamat ako kay God sa opportunity at guidance na nakatulong sakin to land a job. Kaya somehow nasusuportahan ko ung needs ko while searching for another job.

No. 3 - Customized CV. So isa din ako sa mga applicant na puro nakatanggap ng rejections or no replies from a recruiter/recruitment agency in the past 3 months. Umattend ako ng isang seminar about new migrants seeking employment in Australia at natutunan ko na dapat magmatch un CV sa work n inapplayan. For example, ang job requirement eh 2 years experience in construction so dapat i-highlight mo dun sa CV mo, kung ilang years un experience, say 3 years experience in building construction. Inedit ko un CV ko using the right keywords then apply ulit ako sa company n in line dun sa experience ko dati. For the first time in three months, nakareceive ako ng tawag for interview within a week. Hahaha. Nabigla ako to be honest. Then, i have attended the interview, may tanong n personal at technical. Sinusunod lang nila un guidelines to hire manpower. So importante na maipa-intindi mo sa recruiter un experience mo is matching with their requirement at first glance. Otherwise, hindi nila iintidihin yun kahit gaano pa kaganda un experience mo. Hindi naman lahat ng recruiter ganun pero according to seek, other jobsites and seminars i have attended, recruiter usually takes a minute or less to check ones' CV. So ini-scan lang nila talaga nila kasi nga daw hundreds madalas un CV n natatanggap nila kada job position at malamang di lang iisang account un hawak nila. Kaya dapat CV must be on point para sapul un target job mo.

Good luck guys! Do not lose hope.

Kasi VIC and TAS are both requiring job offers to be considered for 491visa. Since alam ko po na prefer ng mga employers na andyan na sa OZ applicant, will it be difficult to get a job offer offshore? May kilala po b kayo na similar case? Thanks po in advance.
