Dental Hygeniest

DukeeDukee BrisbanePosts: 49Member
Hi guys I just want to share and can give advice also. Me and my wife send the docs to vetassess for skill assessment and got her result yesterday, yung wife ko kasi dentist sya sa pinas at nagkaroon ng job experience for 2 years lang kaso nagka problema at na reject yung pag-assess sa kanya at negative ang naging result as a dental hygeniest, hindi namin alam kung kailangan nya ulit magpa assess sa ibang assessing authority ng australia as a dentist naman.

U need to take OELTS, assessment sa ADC, and I think U need to take practical exam, and etc which costs more. Kasi before nagtanong ako sa agent at yun nga sinabi nya kaya we opt to have dental hygienist as nominated occupation.

Salamat.

yep, dentist na po ako ditto Ive been through all of it. Umiyak po ako ng dugo ha ha but I don't want to discourage you that was my journey. First thing visit po nyo ung website ng ADC, I don't know their regulation now but during my time I had my papers assessed then once successful OET/IELTS , then MCQ-SAQ (multiple choice question- short answer question), then clinical exam, that took me three years to complete.

Thanks.

it took me 3 years to finish all the exam. Not full time, natagalan kc ako sa clinical exam ilang beses ko kinuha, tapos we have to wait like almost 10 months for our exam date each time.

For medical practitioners like doctors and dentists.. Madugo ang exams kasi very different ang contents and way they present the exams.

My husband is a doctor.. Almost 1 year na preparing for then exam. 3 months full time review in melbourne 4000 aud for the review. 3 months self study. 3000 aud for the amc q .. The written exam. Then maybe god willing he passes the written next month then review again 6000 aud for the clinicals. Then another 3000 aud for the clinicals;)

So we will see where god tAkes us:) the exams in the philippines are chicken feet according to some of his friends who has taken it and failed but will take again. Kasi the reward is worth it... If you just pass the exams.

Even some of our indian friends said, even the australian doctors will have a hard time passing these exams they make foreign doctors/ dentists/ OT take.

It is an investment tht is worth it naman just put your heart, soul and mind to it;)

Tell your wife to find a review school.. Self study alone is not enough. Some of my hubby's friend who reviewed with him and took the exam has passed na but those who didnt review failed.

There is a huge difference in our health systems and test delivery.

Nope, kailangan ng ADC inorder to recognise yung qualification and educational attainment ng wife mo.

Pwede mag aral as DH or ituloy mag aral ulit ng denstistry dito sa AU.

Hello! I'm a dentist here in the Philippines. I'm moving to Aus late this year or early next year on a Fiance visa and my fiance wants me to pursue dentistry there. I'm a bit hesistant because everyone says its difficult and my friend who works as a dental assistant in Sydney says wala pa daw sya kakilalang dentist in Ph na pumasa as dentist in Aus. And considering mahal din yung fees, natakot lalo ako. Does anyone know if sa clinical exams, if you cant pass the first time, can you take another try and may bayad ba ulit? Can anyone share their experience if any. Thank you!

Thanks for the response @Dukee ! So yung wife mo did not pursue dentistry anymore? Pero you have any idea ba if mag aral ng dental hygienist course, worth it kaya yung salary later on?
