Just want to ask for your advice po sana. I am currently working here in SG (on a work pass) and I have a Job offer there in Aus but the offer is a 12mos fixed term contract. Ang plan ko sana is to get the job then apply for a PR there in AUS. ask ko sana if its too risky and kung may gumawa na ng ganun.
salamat po

Put it this way, ano ba ang nominated occupation mo?
If kasama sya sa SOL, then well and good pwede ka mag-apply during the course of your 12 month contract...
As early as now naman, ma assess mo yung chance mo in applying for PR - having said this, if qualified ka to apply as PR, I would say get that job and apply for PR onshore before your contract is up.
Advantage dito is that makakuha ka ng valuable local experience - that way, after your contract is up and assuming PR ka na, you will have an edge in the job searching game.

Ask your employer to make it clear kung magustuhan kanila sa work na do you have chance to extend your contract and applying for PR. I take the risk nasa saiyo na lang yan kung handa ka mawalan ng work after a year kung di nagustuhan ang performance mo. Dont expect too much na PR agad at Isipin mo na temporary working visa hawak mo. Pero its up to you, you need more advise from your friend.
God bless and Goodluck..

On my 3rd month sa kumpanya, may bago na ako job offer. Kasi, 1 month pa lang ako, naghahanap na ako work because you never really know. I'm on my 6th month, may offer ulit ako. I had to turn 1 down kasi ASAP yun. Hindi po ako humihinto sa paghahanap ng trabaho hanggang ngayon for next year, parang praning na nga ako eh. But I now have option to stay in my present company or move on. They do need workers here kaya di rin ako makaalis basta-basta.
Point is, options open after some time. That job, if you take it, will not hurt you. Local experience will never hurt you. Also, it is always advisable to not burn bridges. So, your company in Sg is still an option.
P.S. Pero sayang din kasi ang opportunity mo, if you let it go.
