@sunflower, baliktad ang style ko sa reading.

I read the questions first then find the answers via skim read.

I found the exam material way too long to read from start to end at baka magahol ako sa oras kung tatapusin.

This is the same technique taught by IELTS Masterclass in Sydney.

@Envy I find that technique really effective too lalo na sa first 3 sections, though I needed to read the whole article in section 4 w/c is quite long and the number of questions under it were numerous too, so it weighs a lot in the whole Reading exam component.. Samahan pa ng true false not given.. Hayayay!

Hi guys! Just got my results today and ok naman ang outcome (proficient english)

Tips lang:

ON REVIEW CENTERS
I would recommend Niner to those who will be reviewing full time since you will be able to make the most of the unlimited one-on-one tutorials.

ON LISTENING
Mahirap yung section na minsan nagbibigay ng map so make sure you'll be able to practice that.

ON READING.
People usually get confused on the True/False/Not Given test type. Review your mistakes when you check your practice exams to have a better grasp on answering them.

ON WRITING
Practice all test types. In my case kasi map yung lumabas sa task 1. And during the entire time that I was reviewing, hindi ako nakapagsulat non since line and bar graphs daw ang madalas lumalabas.
Sa format: write in block format (no indention/single space between paragraphs). First line should contain at least 10 words. T1: 15-20 lines. T2: 25-30 lines. Read the opinion section of Phil Daily Inquirer

ON SPEAKING
Practice with previous speaking questions. Some questions do get repeated. Read the PDI as well.

During free time, you can check out videos on Youtube on IELTS. It was helpful for me. I only had 2 weeks preparation. I was able to get 7.5
ratings, except on writing.

@GoldSeeker Congrats sa result. Buti ka pa tapos na. I already booked my exam. Sayang nga lang yung niners ko kasi di ako nakakapunta. Don ba sa Cambridge 1-9 ay may lumabas sa real test? Curios lang.

Kaya niyo din yan

Hindi ko natapos Cambridge 1-9 eh. Pero I think nasagutan ko more than half of all the listening and reading questions. Sad to say, wala akong naencounter na umulit. Pati na din sa writing. I guess speaking questions lang ang umuulit. My task 2 on the speaking exam was about dangerous sports which was listed on the speaking questions provided by niner.

Kunting tips lng:
- Practice at stick sa format.
- First 4-5min (planning), last 3-5min (review and correct grammatical errors)
- Wag magbigay ng opinion pag hindi hinihingi.
- Gumamit ng actual answer sheet para ma estimate mo ilang lines ang 150/250 words.

IELTS Buddy at IELTS Liz and madami pa sa youtube lalo na yung sa writing, kasi very imporatant na masanay tayo kung ano ba talaga ang mga types ng questions, paano ba mag introduction ng general muna. Mga ganun.

Baka pwede din kayo bumili ng materials sa niner, or review ng crash course lang. Ako naka 6 classes lang yata ako, then final coaching na. 4 na lecture tapos mock exam na. Critical kasi yung time ko kasi im aiming for july 1 submission ng papers ko kaya im super happy i got the scores that i need. Pinaka effective talaga, dasal na taimtim at wag mag papressure. Kung kaya nyo na wag ipaaalam sa bahay nyo or mga classmates nyo, go for it! Very effective sakin to kaya nung nakuha ko result ko, natuwa ako. Pag pressured kasi tayo, mas mahirap.

OBS: 7.5

And sa Listening and reading pala, naka ALL Capital letters ako nung nagsagot, natutunan ko to sa niner. Kasi syempre mag small letter ka sa name, mali na agad. Pero pag capitalized lahat,no problem.

Sa reading naman, i watched and read yung mga tips sa true false not given. Sobra dasal ko na wala sana masyado true false not given sa exam. Buti na lang 5 questions lang lumabas samin

What an incredible thread, lahat helpful and encouraging. I am taking IELTS naman for migrating to Canada but I stumbled upon this thread and it is helping me take my first few steps. Quick question lang without doing a lot of backread po, how many allowed retakes po ba pwede at kung me bayad? Thank you!

Madaling maubos ang slot para sa PTE since they are very lenient in scoring. Actually when you go to their home page, they are open for franchise-- Test Centre is needed.

Hi Guys, question po regarding sa IELTS pointing system. When we say at least 7 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing), kailangan ba minimum of 7 nakuha ko sa lahat? Hindi ba kukunin yung average para maqualify ako?

Example1: S: 7 R: 8 L: 7.5 W: 8.5 - mag fall pa din ba to sa Proficient (7 - 10 points) or pasok na sya sa Superior (8 - 20 points)?
Example2: S: 7.5 R: 8 L: 8 W: 8.5 - pasok ba to sa superior (8 - 20 points) kahit may isa akong 7.5?

Medyo na coconfuse kasi ako paano ako makakauha ng 10 or 20 points.

Another thing, for example 6 lang nakuha ko sa Listening, ok lang ba mag retake ng IELTS pero Listening lang kukunin ko since ok naman na yung iba? or kelangan kong iretake lahat?

Minimum of 7 po in each band.. hindi po average.. if you want to retake, you must retake all.

Maka share na nga.. Alam ko Kahit Ilang beses ka kumuha as long as you are prepared for paying the astronomic fee ( lol ) at ready ka based on your perceived mistakes last time you sat the test, then go!

I have no idea about EOR but at least you know indeed you can take the next IELTS test in a number of times. Hope you get your desired score. Magkano na ba kasi ang IELTS fee? Nde biro kaya goodluck! Anu bang nominated occupation mo? Or you need it for another visa type?

EOR-Enquiry on Result. Process po eto sa mga gustong magparemark. This means, kung dka satisfy sa score mo especially sa writing and speaking. It takes time and also there's an additional payment.
You dont need to take more than once if your 1st take eh okay na score mo. There are no limit for retake though, gastos lang.. Take note however that the validity of IELTS is only 2 years..

Nag enrol pa ko sa short course for IELTS preparation and medyo disappointed ako sa 1st session ko which is 3 hours every saturday. It was my 1st day, 1st time I expect a bit of orientation on how it works lalo wala akong idea and a bit of lecture pero wala. we're just given sample test questionnaire. Binigyan na lang ako ng sample writing test so wala ko idea pano yon, mock exam kasi eh. so hindi ko alam gagawin ko. nakakadisappoint lang. hindi yun yung inexpect ko. anyway, 99.5% naman daw ang passing rate nila.

I have a question po pala, IDP kasi agent ko dapat ba sa kanila ako magpaarrange ng IELTS exam sched, yung school kasi na pinagenrolan ko for review told that whenever I'm prepared they could arrange my exam schedule. So pinoproblema ko lang baka kasi maging issue sa Student Visa assistance ko pag sa iba ako nagpabook for exam. salamat po.
