LTO-DFA Authentication Certification (PHL Driver's License)

Thinking of preparing to drive in Australia from the Philippines?

Well, I had created this post as I just acquired my LTO-DFA document just yesterday and thought of sharing the steps on how to get one.

Different Australian states requires our present PHL driver's license at least 3 months validity. This document might help in ensuring that we are at least an experienced driver here.

LTO PROCESS:

1.) Go the East Avenue, Diliman Quezon City LTO main branch.
2.) Secure an application form. You may locate the application window inside the chapel.
3.) After filling up the form, present your current LTO driver's license for verification.
4.) Photocopy your driver's license. Photocopying machine is located outside and attach.
4.) Proceed to cashier for payment. (Make sure your name reflects the same as application)
I paid around 495 pesos for the LTO fee. Applicants were not that much as I came there.
5.) Claim stub shall be given. This shall be presented next to DFA on specified date.

*Note: DFA schedule is set a week after

DFA PROCESS:

1.) Proceed to DFA, Aseana Roxas Boulevard. (Make sure at least 2-3 weeks after LTO process)
2.) Find the drop box for "LTO" where you will drop your LTO claim stub and proceed.
3.) Wait until name is called. The DFA shall call you using a public microphone and proceed to
designated window.
4.) You will present your ID ( I had used my LTO driver's licence ) to verify my name accurately.
5.) Wait until name is called. A window officer shall give you attached document. Check it.
This comes with an official DFA receipt.
6.) Proceed to cashier for payment of fees. This comes cheap at PHP 100 only.
7.) Wait until name is called for the claiming of your DFA authenticated certificate. This appear
as a document with red ribbon on its left most corner of the paper. Check well before you
leave DFA premises.

@se29m ok good bro. Ang alam ko 6 months ang PR visa holders, 3 months kapag VISA 457 or working visa. Balitaan mo ko pag nakabili ka na ng car. Pinaplano ko na paghandaan yan pag lapag ko ng perth including driving test at WA. Keep in touch bro!

Interested din ako Malaman sagot nito. Temporary DL (aka, receipt) Lang kasi hawak ko ngayon. Stress factor talaga si LTO

Yung license ko lang mismo pinakita ko .. Non pro. Lalagay mo dun kung kelan first issue. Not sure though how nila iverify...

@J_Oz Pero ung license mo ay Hindi naman expired? Ni-try ko rin i-backread, pina-practical driving test ka ba, or written exam lang? At ano license type nakuha mo?

@prcand hindi expired license ko. Kapag Philippine license hawak mo need mo mag driving test- sa NSW ako ha... Nag learners muna ako kasi more than 3 months na ako dito nung nag start ako kumuha ng license. Upon passing the driving test, bigyan ka nila ng license depende sa gano ka na katagal magdrive based on your PH license... Sa ngayon full unrestricted na license ko.... Nasa RTA lahat ng information about converting yung license mo

@J_Oz kelangan ba hindi expired un licence mo? Kasi Im thinking na di na mag renew kasi di ko naman makukuha agad, matagal pa ang release. Baka next pa year ma release dahil sa backlog sa LTO

@inhinyero_sg need dapat renewed at not expired. Plan ko mag early renew na sa LTO on my driver's license as hindi valid pag paper provisional receipt lang na madalas na iissue ng LTO ngayon. Go for the card case license request. Parang August pa magrerelease now si LTO. Nagbabalak na ko mag early renew kasi maeexpire na yun sa 'kin this August (birthday ko hehehe)

@jedh_g ano pala ibig sabihin ng "card case license request"? may pagkakaiba ba to sa usual renewal? may express processing fee?

@prcand card case means the hard plastic permanent issued ID. Normally, if the LTO office does not have the card case, they only issue provision paper receipt license.

@inhinyero_sg wala ka irerequest sa LTO. All you got to do is wait until the card case ID comes out for release/claim. Kaya nga I am thinking na isabay ko na lang pagrenew ko ng license pag ready na issue nila ng ID batch.

@jedh_g you need an LTO insider or regularly check your nearest LTO branch para malaman kung may available card na.

Mgandang hapon po. tanong ko lang po ng sa RECEIPT lang dala at first time issue ng DL . wla po bang maging problema dito ? wala padn available card and LTO as of this Month at hndi padn daw alam kelan mag kkroon. By Sept ang tetntative flight ko at RECEIPT lang dn mddala ko sakali. Maramng salamat po sa sasagot.

Actually problema ko din yan kasi Au is not accepting LTO receipt...flight ko din is end of October. Do not know also if maganda i-renew ko or not na license. Kasi pag di ko ni renew on my birthday, dala ko pa rin hard LTO license ID card, yun nga lang expired na.

If mag convert ka license dito sa Qld accepted nila yung expired LTO license na within 3 mos before ka magconvert at mas safe siguro kung may receipt ka na nakapagrenew ka na.

hello po. nagpunta po ako sa LTO laspinas. sabi nila wala din daw silang mabibigay na card kahit may flight details pa. uunahin lang daw po tayo kapag nagka card na. nagpunta rin po ako sa LTO main. Ganun din ang sinabi. pinakuha lang po ako nung certificate. Macoconsider na po kaya sa au. kahit yung receipt lang at yung certificate ang dalhin?

I first had my DFA LTO red ribbon document and renewed driver's license but I still pursued getting my ID card as I know na they do not accept paper type license or provisional receipt like what LTO is temporarily issuing

@jedh_g hello po. i did also give LTO laspinas my flight details,visa grant and passport copies. pero wala po talaga daw silang card unluckily. san po kayong LTO nagrenew? kasi kahit daw po sa LTO QC diliman wala din daw po silang card. medyo pressured na nga po ako sa kakahanap ng way magkaroon ng card. thanks for the help po.

When I renewed here in laguna area (my birthplace) last August 30, I already informed them of my intention and officer told me to prepare such docs. Then, I went back recently last Sept. 27, I got my card with of course "pakiusap" to the officer justifying my flight shall be this month.

Depende talaga sa justification and urgency. Try other LTO branch.

@jedh_g ah ganun po ba. wala raw po kasing available sa laspinas na card. nakausap ko na nga po yung pinaka manager doon. san po sa laguna yung LTO nyo? Thanks u po sa info.
