1 year conversion program VS 2 year Bachelor of Nursing degree

Hi guys, i'm helping my friend out. He was offered a 2yr Bachelor of nursing degree. can you please share the pros and cons of taking the 2yr program over conversion? Thanks

    Hi, just simply look at it this way. The shorter the course duration, the sooner it is for him/her to apply for PR. Immigration rules are not permanent and so as the AHPRA and ANMAC policies. The sooner that he/she can get a Permanent Visa, the better. If I may add as well, they will soon be introducing 2 exams for internationally qualified nurses for registration here in Au.

    Mar 2015 Nursing Conversion Course (Deakin Uni) started
    April 13, 2016 Lodged EOI thru Skill Select
    April 27, 2016 Received invitation to apply for Visa 189 (Nurse)
    May 2, 2016 Lodged application for 189 Visa (Onshore)
    May 11, 2016 CO contacted for Form 80/Medicals of daughter
    June 17, 2016 189 VISA GRANTED Thank you my amazing God :)

    Dec14, 2017 Citizenship application
    March 21, 2019 Citizenship Ceremony :)

    @velvetcake1214 Points in what category? Is it Australian Educational Qualification? If it’s just one year, then you can’t get the 5 points for it.

    Hello po @Cassey! Dun po sa category na qualification lang. papasok po ang 1 year conversion program sa An award or qualification the relevant assessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation recognises which is 10 points?

    @velvetcake1214 If you’re referring to “Qualifications” , it’s a recognised Bachelor’s Degree and you will get 15 points for that.

    AHPRA hasn’t released the specifics yet. The test is patterned to the UK’s OSCE but based of course on Australia’s Nursing practice.
