191 PR Visa Application Question

Hello, ask ko lng meron na ba dito nag apply for 191 visa? I'm currently in 491 visa and eligible now to apply for 191 PR visa pathway. I've already meet the salary threshold as well the residency requirements here in darwin for 3 years. However, I can only produce 2 notice of assessment from ATO. Is it possible to submit my current Income Statement (as we're still in the middle of 2022-2023)?

2020 No income kasi wala work - no tax return
2021 With notice of assessment (above salary threshold)
2022 - With notice of assessment (above salary threshold)
2023 - Current Income Statement (above salary threshold). End of Financial year pa makukuha yung notice of assessment.

So baka need mo hintayin yung tax return this coming July. Let's wait for others pero I'm pretty sure very few pa lang ang eligible for 191 sa forum na to, most of the people here nasa process palang ng paglodge ng 491 visa. I'm also going to be eligible for 191 next year so keen ako to hear on how your 191 grant goes. Cheers!

I called the Immigration hotline kanina and asked this inquiry. Sabi nila they can only quote what stated in the website. I can lodge the 191 visa but there's a possibility of 1. invalid application or 2. visa refusal or 3. visa granted. Best to do is inquire migration agent daw. Kaya lng additional gastos na naman.

sana nga mabilis lng yung approval. If that's the case, I can lodge my 191 visa sa July pa after the current financial year.

I suggest na just wait til July of this year, saglit lang naman na yan. Kesa maglodge ka now and kainin ka ng kaba dahil di ka sure kung ma ggrant or hindi.

Relevant Income Years for the 191 Visa

Updates: I lodged my 191 visa last March kahit di kumpleto yung 3 years na ATO notice of assessment. I just included yung income statement for this financial year while waiting matapos yung 2022-2023. As of today wala updates from the immigration, and Im not expecting to be approved in the current financial year with all the planned immigration strategy changes. At least naka queue na yung PR application ko and will make an ammendments na lng pag andyan na yung notice of assessment ko for 2022-2023.

Keep us updated on this bro. Hopefully may linaw na by July

hi kapwa 491. im here na sa Au, going 8months. kamusta so far? sometimes i feel anxious sa future ng 491 visa.. un uncertainty ng 191. its a long way to go.. sometimes nkkfeel ako ng regret na sana I waited a bit more sa 189.
anyway, ito un will ni Lord.
nakaktakot lng minsan na sana masusustain un work for three years, and wlang problema healthwise..

wla nmn question, i just feel frustrated sometimes.. but I find comfort when I remind myself that God didnt give it to me (us) na hindi kakayanin..

so i guess, its just me saying, if you are struggling.. you are not alone.

Curious lang ako. Saan ka located and what is triggering your anxiety? Is it because wala masyadong jobs where you are?

I came over on a 489 visa and while wala itong income requirement, ang worry ko dati is whether or not makakahanap ako ng trabaho in a small city. Nakakuha naman and covid has also improved the number of job opportunities for office-based occupations because employers are now willing to hire remote staff.

You might want to look at things from a different perspective. $53,900 is considered low income in Australia, kaya nga tinaasan na yung TSMIT for 482 visa holders. If you cannot meet the $53,900 income requirement, the main issue won't be na hindi makakaapply for 191. I think the main issue would be, how will you survive on an even lower income regardless of what visa you're holding?

That being said, pag ginipit talaga a combination of 2 part-time jobs should help with the income requirement. You'd be surprised at how much some jobs actually pay. Although I understand na job availability is really dependent on the location. Some regional areas have more opportunities than others.

4 years na ako sa Adelaide. Kung andito ka don't worry about work and about meeting the income requirement.

491 is a relatively new visa and it was introduced a few months before covid started. Halos tumigil ang mga visa grants during the height of covid so there are very few people right now who are eligible to apply for 191 kaya wala pa gaanong news. It's not really something to worry about. Just make sure you're already compiling docs for your 191 application. Nung nag-aantay ako ng 887 grant ko (PR visa for 489 holders) ang napansin ko may mga applicants who didn't prepare well, so walang naitabing docs to prove when they started to live here, to prove their 2 years residency, 1 work year work experience, etc.

hi kapwa 491. im here na sa Au, going 8months. kamusta so far? sometimes i feel anxious sa future ng 491 visa.. un uncertainty ng 191. its a long way to go.. sometimes nkkfeel ako ng regret na sana I waited a bit more sa 189.
anyway, ito un will ni Lord.

so i guess, its just me saying, if you are struggling.. you are not alone.

Some regional areas have more opportunities than others.

hi! Im in Adelaide! ikaw rin ba? how long are you na here? lapit ka na mg 191?

Im ok nmn sa work so far with God's grace.
My anxiety? worrier kasi ako haha eh I have been reading a lot of posts (and rumors) kasi wla pa rin naggrant na 191 to date (puro HK stream pa lang).

thanks for the insight about work.. duly noted!

Also on the same boat sa uncertainty ng 191. To think na 2019 pa planned yan and since Nov 2022 pa active ang 191 visa pero no grants til now unless HK stream.

Mas nakakabahala pa yung winter weather kung first winter mo dito. LOL.

haha oo nga un weather dito sa Adelaide eh magulo. bracing ourselves for our first winter here! tpos ang mahal ng electricity 😝.
In regards to prepping the docs,

residency - rent/lease contract? utility bills?
work - payslip? tax return or tax dec? paano un yearly tax record nirerequest ba un sa ATO?

buko sa residency at work, ano pa po? thank you!

    I understand what you mean.

Medyo vague lang kasi 'yung statements pertaining to requirements. Especially if you're coming outside of Australia. Wala na 'yung nakalagay na you must live in a designated area for 3 years. Nakalagay na lang eh hold the eligible visa for 3 years, which makes me wonder kung meron ka 3 notice of assessments na mapapakita and na-follow mo naman 'yung 491 conditions.

Anyway, let's wait for further news moving forward :)

You can only get the 3 notice of assessments if you work in Aus, and while holding the 491 visa dapat nasa regional ka lang kasi yung ang restriction ng visa. 3 yrs stay sa regional and 3 yrs tax return assessments, yan lang talaga need ma fulfill. Do you hold a 491 as well?

Eto ung 'should live in a designated area', sa page ng 491

Just saw this sa isang fb group.

Sa wakas makaka apply na ako when my 491 crosses the 3 years mark sa Oct haha

Since wala na 'yung income requirement, meaning be 'yung grant date na ang basis ng "3 years" kung kaya mo mag-provide ng tatlong notice of assessment from ATO? Just thinking about it now

Depende. Some people I know na nakatira sa non-regional areas when they applied for 491, they moved to regional areas after a month or so ng grant. So yung 3 yrs magsstart on the day na nasa regional sila. Others like me na nasa regional na ever since, grant date ang basis ng 3 yrs.

    I understand what you mean.

Medyo vague lang kasi 'yung statements pertaining to requirements. Especially if you're coming outside of Australia. Wala na 'yung nakalagay na you must live in a designated area for 3 years. Nakalagay na lang eh hold the eligible visa for 3 years, which makes me wonder kung meron ka 3 notice of assessments na mapapakita and na-follow mo naman 'yung 491 conditions.

rule ng 491 na tumira ka sa regional area for 3 yrs, dun sya nakastate kaya parang hindi na nililinaw much yan sa 191 kasi sa 491 sya nakadetail. So basta 3 yrs sa regional and 3 yrs tax notice, pwede na sa 191. Do you hold 491 as well?

Pero condition para ma-consider ka sa 191 visa 'yung to live in designated regional area for 3 years, I think? Which makes me think about it again kasi hold the eligible visa for 3 years na ang nakalagay sa website.

I'm all good naman and I live in Adelaide. Excited lang masyado mag-isip about 191 pero less than a year pa lang ako nandito.

    • live, work and study in a designated regional area (YES ako)
    • apply for permanent residence.... blah blah.... You can't apply for other permanent visas until you have held your subclass 491 visa for 3 years (technically, I "have held" my visa for 3 years ng June 2025)

And then sa 191 visa requirements naman:

Sorry baka slow lang ako. hahaha

I think I'm getting to see where you're at. You mean kung may way maka apply ng 191 ng mas maaga? Kasi pwede ka kumuha ng tax return assessment kahit di ka full year nagwork e, like kahit Dec 2022 ka dumating, makaka apply ka ng tax return for 2022-2023 ngayong July. With this line of thinking, by July 2025, makakabuo ka ng 3 tax return assessments while only being in Australia for 2.5 yrs.

Saglit nalang din yan so best thing to do is to wait for 3 yrs na talaga.

If you want, by the time June 2025 arrives, 3 yrs mo na hawak ang 491 mo so pwede ka na mag apply ng ibang visa like 189 o 190. Kaso panibagong gastos yan sa visa fee, 4k+ uli and most likely irerenew mo PTE, skills assessment and medical exam. Mas practical na mag 191 ka nalang.

Yup same boat tayo sa 1st paragraph.

Not really kinakabahan naman, curious lang that's why I asked my question :) What I am pointing out is 'yung 191 visa requirement na "hold the eligible visa for 3 years", which technically I will achieve by June 2025. And wala kasing specific na nakalagay na "live, work, study in regional area for 3 years". But yeah, no problem naman if mag-wait pa ng additional 6 months.

But will see by that time. Baka smooth na ang processing ng 191 visa.

All good mate, thanks for the convo and insights.

Pero condition para ma-consider ka sa 191 visa 'yung to live in designated regional area for 3 years, I think? Which makes me think about it again kasi hold the eligible visa for 3 years na ang nakalagay sa website.

Nababahala ka in what way? Do you have any tough circumstances? Yan lang talaga huling hurdle - malinaw yung income reqt so that clarified a lot.

Cheers man, 3 yrs sounds like a long time pero enjoyin mo nalang while you wait. Been in the same boat, kung ano ano na inisip ko na way para mabeat ang sistema to get the PR asap hahaha. Lilipas din oras agad, at least ikaw alam mo na no income reqt na sa 191 ngayon so less pressure. Back in 2020 nung na grant ako super pressured ako makahanap ng work na aabot sa 54k hahaha. All the best!

Anyway, let's wait for further news moving forward :)

rule ng 491 na tumira ka sa regional area for 3 yrs, dun sya nakastate kaya parang hindi na nililinaw much yan sa 191 kasi sa 491 sya nakadetail. So basta 3 yrs sa regional and 3 yrs tax notice, pwede na sa 191. Do you hold 491 as well?

All the best bro!
