Hello everyone! sa mga kaibigan natin dyan na merong experience na ma-involve sa Australian projects... Design outside Australia or Fabricated outside Australia using Australian Standards but to be delivered or constructed in Australia, considered po ba ito na Local Experience? Please share your thoughts... Thanks! :)

    Hindi.

Ang alam kong local experience is yung mismong maranasan mo manirahan at mag work sa loob Australia. At yung employer mo is yung talagang Company na naka base sa Australia.

Baka pwede din consider yung na-assign ka mismo mag work sa loob ng Australia for few weeks/months.

When I was with an international consulting firm situated in Australia, meron kaming mga projects sa PNG every december. We reviewed local company practices and controls using industry (international) best practices but not australian standards.

So on DIAC standards, kailangan nasa Australia ka para macredit yung trabaho mo as Australian Work Experience?

Thanks mga Sirs for your initial input. How about sa case ng Offshore Installations ng oil and gas? Kasi most big offshore projects in Australia is designed and fabricated outside Australia kasi walang local fabricator ang may capability to do that kind of big projects. so when we are applying for a job in Australia pwede na ba un as local experience sa field ng offshore? thanks guys... :)

Not sure about the DIAC standards. My personal opinion is more of the Australian Employers point of view. Same issues with Canada. The reason why maraming nahihirapan na makakuha ng work pag bagong immigrant dahil sa sinasabing priority or requirements ang "local experience".

    Kung sa CV lang ilalagay
pwede mo i-highlight sa CV or during interview na Australian Project yun.. na you worked with AU team etc.. etc.. kahit na hindi sya sa Au talaga, it can be an advantage especially kung alam mo na ang mga AU standards..etc.. or you worked in an Australian company overseas.. pero you cannot claim it as a local AU experience

    Regarding DIAC guidelines,
for claiming points for AU work experience, of course it has to be in Australia (onshore/offshore)..

Im not sure though kung kunyari, naka based ka sa SG, tapos pinadala ka sa AU for 1 year to do a project, kung pwede ba yun maconsider as local experience sa DIAC guidelines.. I guess pwede kung makaka-kuha ka ng COE na ang address is AU.. ;)

In my opinion, for employers point of view (well ang alam kong sikat dito is yung Canada), preferred nila yung local experience. Gusto nila medyo sanay ka na sa kalakaran at buhay sa bansa nila. More or less alam mo na pasikot sikot at hindi ka na ma culture shock or something. Ika nga, parang parte ka na talaga ng current work force nila at stable to some extent. Medyo strict sila, kaya yung iba may bali-balita na kahit ang ganda ng work experience mo sa ibang bansa minsan babagsak ka dun as blue collar worker to survive. Yung iba nag volunteer or nag intern to have what they so called as "local experience".

Kung nag work ka outside Australia and you really want to claim it as local experience then dapat ma depend mo ng mahusay yun bakit. Like ako, sa mga past audit firms na pinag work ko,may ilan akong naging clients na sinunod ko either US standards, or Japanese standards, or yung client is based sa ibang bansa or one time napadala ako sa Bangkok to perform audit in a week, etc. pero i dont see it na may local experience ako sa mga bansa na yun. Per CV pwede ilagay yun at i-emphasize like lock_code said but may not be considered as local experience.

Yeah it's a bit vague to me. What if I am in Manila and my employer is based in Australia and all the work I do is for Australian clients. Would that count?

You are not in Australia... So it is not local experience as far as I can see - but then again, I may be wrong. :)

I think you can claim it to be local au experience if you have
    1. worked physically in Australia
    2. you can provide COE of that company
    3. provide TFN

not sure, opinion ko lang :)

I reckon it's not consider as local experience kahit ginamit sa design ay Australian standard o kahit ang project inside australia kapag ang employer mo at office work ay base outside Australia.

Nakalagay naman sa CV mo kung anung location ng projects at employer. Additonal points na lang yun kapag nasa interview kana applying for jobs, kung paano mo i explain na Australian standard ang ginamit ninyo sa design.
    cheers.

For all its worth pala ibig ko sabihin hehe.

I was just thinking since Australian clients naman sineserbisyo ko ngayon at Australian din ang employer it would count as local experience, but it looks like that won't be the case, so yeah, I will just write it as is in my resume hehe
