Hi Yukishih, I got interested reading your post. Yun din kasi ang name ng school na nagoffer sa husband ko pero di pa nagstart si hubby ko for a 2-year study sa Deakin Univ. Nagtry muna sya ditto sa Singapore pero not as nurse . Before he came in SG naofferan na sya ng Deakin Univ (that time Nurse pa sya sa barko). Can you update me please sa mga kaganapan ng pagaaral mo jan at kapag RN kana. We just want to know what will mostly happen right after you become a Reg. Nurse. Kung madali na ba makakuha ng work.

Aqf is australian qualifications framework.. Philippines will have it soon with K-12.. Anyway 3 years is typically bachelors degree.. Just be wary though coz at the moment our sytems aren't compatible.. So it depends.. Usually a bachelor's degree in the Philippines will be equal an associate diploma here..

@eden17 RN Div 1 na po ako since Jan and working na however di makahanap ng sponsorship. I applied for pr under visa 190. Madaming work for nurses kaso kailangan PR holder ka na unless di ka choosy you can opt to apply s ibang state or regional areas na nag oooffer ng sponsorship. Dito lang kasi ako sa melbourne nakafocus hanap ng work and hindi rin regional ang target ko kasi nga sa city lang nagwowork kapatid ko. Same house lang kami kaya wala sa option ko ang lumayo unless lilipat din sya. Hehe.

Hi to all, I have some questions and I hope somebody can help me as this forum has proved to be helpful to most of the members here. I came in Australia last month on a student visa and doing my MBA which is only a 1yr programme. Basically I want to acquire PR here and I came for that motive. Can somebody please guide me the procedure and requirements to apply for Temporary Graduate Work Visa. I graduated in nursing from the Philippines in 2012 but due to some reason I was not able to write the NLE so in short I dont have license to practice my profession and thats why Im doing MBA which is far related to nursing. Please help me to enlighten all things. Thank you in advance.
Hi. AHPRA through AQF assessment assesses our BSN as AQF level 7. This means they consider our degree as comparable to them. However, we still do not qualify for registration as an RN.

Do you mean to say that there are employer in regionals areas that sponsor overseas nurses?

@armina ....you will be eligible to apply for Graduate Temporary Visa 485 (Post study visa) if you will finish a 2 year program in OZ hence you still need one year of study to have that 2 year Australian Study requirement.

hi sis....weigh thoroughly your options and put into consideration the issue on GTE since if you will apply for further student visa let us say one more year and then you opt for nursing, will you not be questioned on your genuine desire to study here since you are presently taking MBA and then transfer to nursing. side tip sis, i don't know if you are aware of it pero ang MBA ay wala yata sa SOL so kahit na makatapos na nyan ng 2 years ay mahihirapan ka pa ring mag apply ng 485 graduate temporary visa since one of the requirements for that visa is yong occupation mo ay dapat nasa SOL. Thus I think your best option is to study nursing which would allow you to apply for pr later on.

just to share wit you one concrete example: our friend is a physician in our pinas. nong pumunta sila dito ng hubby niya, she studies Community Welfare which happens also to be excluded from 2014 SOL so ang option nya ngayon ay mag proceed ng nursing ng one year (Geelong school) so that she will be qualified to apply for pr later on.

@meechan_rn Hi. there are lots of consultancy offices here sa philippines which offer no processing fees.. they are a big help especially if di ka sure on your pathway to Australia to become an Australian nurse. They can give you advice and help you with what school to go

Hi guys!
Meron ba mga nagtatake sa inyo ng BS Nursing na Graduate Entry or BS Nursing 3 years pero health related course ang natapos? Pharmacy grad kasi ako and I plan to study Nursing pero sana hindi 3 years dahil napakamahal ng tuition.
BTW, to those who are planning to take the bridging program, sabi ng ate ko hindi na ata inaapprove ng AHPRA yung applications nila. So I personally think its best for you guys to take the conversion program instead.

anong basis mo nito? the last time i checked wala namang na published na ahpra tungkol dito. well of course, for you to apply ahpra you need to meet their standard registration requirements or else you will not be referred to take the bridging program. please read ahpra's site and don't post things pag di ka sigurado.

@rejai_11 I was just trying to help. I have not thoroughly read APHRA's guidelines with regards to this matter kaya nga po I stated "sabi ng ate ko" instead of having APHRA as my reference. I think sharing the opinion of someone who has gone through the applications itself would help the readers with the decisions that they make lalo na madaming institutions and agencies na nagiging bias lang sa opinions nila dahil sa kikitain nilang pera sa atin. I know Australia gives out detailed information and guidelines with regards to registration and licensing but I think it's also important to consider what is happening in reality. And of course as adults, we should also do our own research to confirm whatever is stated here and clarify any erroneous comments.
Anyway, sorry for the confusion this might have caused you.

No worries i'm not confused i know very well how ahpra works and how to get things done. Felt sorry for your ate if she was refused and not being referred to BP or whatever circumstances in between, but i'm sure it's not about "hindi na inaaprove" but rather of the qualifications. Suggesting people to go conversion program instead of bridging, the you are not helping at all, it's two different things [timeline & cost] goodluck anyways..
peace!

@rejai_11 My sister is actually a registered RN in MEL and has been granted a PR just recently. Yung nakwento kong disapproval is about the registration of becoming an RN already upon completion of the BP program and not on the application to the BP, just to clarify.
Again, it's a PERSONAL opinion that I wish people in this forum would respect and maybe take into consideration. It's just so sad to come across unappreciative people like you in a forum that aims to help by sharing each others' personal experiences.
Anyway, good luck to our applications!

Suggesting people to go conversion program instead of bridging, the you are not helping at all, it's two different things [timeline & cost]
goodluck anyways..
peace!

Again, it's a PERSONAL opinion that I wish people in this forum would respect and maybe take into consideration. It's just so sad to come across unappreciative people like you in a forum that aims to help by sharing each others' personal experiences.
Anyway, good luck to our applications!
