  • @yennerz13 I'm back now, hahaha. Saan ka nga ulit mag-aaral dito sa Sydney?
  • @Grifter I'm not quite sure if nebulisers are sold at The Good Guys, JB Hifi, or Harvey Norman, but I found these online websites that do. Maybe check and compare if it's better to bring what you have and just buy the medicine here (and buy extra ba…
  • @MLBS You're coming for studies right? Bring original and photocopies of your travel documents (passport, AU visa, eCOE/enrollment docs). Avoid bringing meat/fresh fruits/plane food (if you're buying food before riding the plane; stick to pastries/b…
  • @jaceejoef Conversion rates are really annoying, that's why it's better to check with the exchange rates of the banks itself instead of Google, because can be really big differences in the exchange rates on the day you charged the fees and the day y…
  • @hersheythegreat if the issue is your agent, keep following up with them, but then again, start na ng holidays so offices are closed, likely pati DHA.
  • @hersheythegreat This happened to one of my classmates, so they contacted the uni to inform them about the situation and they allowed him to delay his attendance up to a certain time (as in the classes still occurred, absent nga lang sya). When his …
  • @mrsespejo vocational po ba ang inaaral? or bachelor's degree? As far as I know, the student can work unlimited hours during recognized school breaks, but the dependent can't (meaning they're still limited by the 40-hours per fortnight). Of course, …
  • @yennerz13 I'll be in Sydney till the 29. Are you going to study in Sydney ba?
  • A friend took the exam and she passed; she said it was not that difficult, but just need to really focus on studying. I haven't asked her yet which materials she used; I'll try to ask next time I talk to her.
  • @blue3319 I wrote a short summary of what I wrote in the GTE letter and pasted it in the 2000-character limit textbox, and then attached the GTE letter after. I didn't attach anything else with the GTE letter.
  • congrats @hailey! ang bilis ng visa approval! :D
  • Where you plan to take up your studies could very well affect your student life, mainly because of the living costs. Sydney is very expensive city (a close friend who's lived in Adelaide said life is super chill there and it's not as expensive as Me…
  • @sanrafael It is unnecessary for you to flood the forum with the same messages on different threads; please avoid doing this again in the future as this can be quite annoying. I believe there are lots of guidelines online about how to write the SOP/…
  • @Rye23 I live near USyd. Sadly I've got plans already this weekend, and it's kind of last minute ehehe. How about early December para may time to arrange our schedules? Maybe Dec 1 or 2? We could do lunch (or picnic somewhere if you prefer to bring …
  • Alright, semester's almost over (submitted my final assessment today, late though hahaha), so I should be pretty free to meet up in the next few days. We can keep the meetup small muna, kung sino lang available on that day, then we can schedule more…
  • @anzone You can check SeekVolunteer to search for volunteering opportunities (I found mine there), or if you're moving to WA, you can check Volunteering WA. Maybe there are opportunities close to your occupation, and the contacts you gain from there…
  • @anzone I haven't worked since arriving in Australia, but the tips I've gotten from my uni's career centre workshops regarding finding jobs is that you can start with casual jobs just so you can garner the "local experience" that most companies look…
  • @MLBS I opted No for my application. I think you'll only answer Yes if you're, like, transferring to Australia in the midst of your degree. @yennerz13 You need your CoE to be able to lodge your visa application. The CoE will include a code on the u…
  • @shelly if you have a bachelor's degree in nursing, why don't you try for a higher degree (master's)? And there's plenty more universities that offer nursing, why not apply to others (you might want to inquire first with the university about your el…
  • hello, hello~! Been busy with uni for weeks, but once semester ends (maybe around early Nov), I'd like to meet up with pinoyau people in Sydney. :) Maybe we can schedule a small meet-up over coffee or a meal?
  • @marfrance Yes, I'm taking up postgrad studies in architectural science. You might want to check first if cook/chef occupation is still in the MLTSSL, because in order to apply for Graduate Work stream, you have to nominate an occupation that's on t…
  • @ChefMa My semester load is pretty heavy so I opted not to work at the moment. Marami kasing assignments due on the same week so crunch time talaga; no time and energy to think of working. Hopefully pag mas nakaluwag na ng konti sa study load ay mak…

  • @damassh I actually didn't apply for a scholarship in USyd. But successful admission to their program will make you eligible for the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship (but they will only make you a scholarship offer if you're one of the top-…
  • @adamson187 Wala po ba sa MLTSSL yung respiratory technologist? Maybe you can find an occupation that matches your job description and nominate that instead of going into graphic design right away. Since your work experience is more related to heal…
  • @adamson187 Hi, are you planning to migrate to Australia permanently, specifically WA? Is it not possible for you to apply for PR with your current credentials? As you'll read across threads in the forum (which I recommend you do), migrating via stu…

  • @DreamPinoy hi, 1. I'd recommend finding a temporary place to stay (friends or relatives if you have any) at least for a few weeks while you look for a more permanent place to live. I just looked for listings at flatmates and scheduled viewings/in…
  • @abby126863846328746 hi, I just searched through uni websites for scholarships. In my experience, mas may scholarships ang universities for undergrad / postgrad degrees than let's say vocational schools. When in doubt, contact the scholarships offic…
  • @dyanisabelle I find that useful din yung unli calls and text, in case walang internet yung other person. Yung AUD 24/month is discount price, parang 5% discount from orig price. It's not much, but definitely a lot cheaper than 30/month ng Vodafone …
  • @Mia ahahaha really? XD Even for a big city like Auckland, mahilig pala sila sa chismis hehehe. How do you react kung hindi nyo sila kilala and you don't want to share your life story with them? Do they get offended or they just leave you alone afte…
  • I've only been in Sydney for a month, but most of the people I've encountered (both Asian migrants and Caucasians) are nice naman. Nakakapanibago nga yung "how are you mate" whenever they greet you, minsan nakakalimutan ko magreply kasi d ko sure ku…
  • @dyanisabelle At first i kinda regretted buying the amaysim sim card, but when i realized how that free vodafone sim worked, parang mas tipid ung amaysim hahaha. Poor student lang ako kaya low-cost plan lang ang kinuha ko sa Jeenee, AUD 24/month on …

New SimplyStall Mobile App!

Hi everyone!

I'm very happy to announce PinoyAu Forum's new app called "SimplyStall" . It's a new Gumtree like service for Pinoys in Australia but in a way better!

So if you have any items just collecting dust? Why not convert it to cash?

If you are selling new items or products or wish to give an item away for free then this might be a good avenue for you.

This project is a new initiative to unify and have a common portal for Pinoys in Australia to sell and share stuffs.

It's now available on Google Play and Apple App Store.

Please do try it out. I'd appreciate if you can help me spread the good news and start selling your old or new stuffs.
