  • @ChefMa My semester load is pretty heavy so I opted not to work at the moment. Marami kasing assignments due on the same week so crunch time talaga; no time and energy to think of working.
  • @damassh Hi, sorry but I can't send you my GTE. However, I've written a detailed guide here:
  • @damassh I actually didn't apply for a scholarship in USyd. But successful admission to their program will make you eligible for the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship (but they will only make you a scholarship offer if you're one of the top-…
Maybe you can find an occupation that matches your job description and nominate that instead of going into graphic design right away. Since your work experience is more related to heal…
  • @adamson187 Hi, are you planning to migrate to Australia permanently, specifically WA? Is it not possible for you to apply for PR with your current credentials? As you'll read across threads in the forum (which I recommend you do), migrating via stu…
  • @dyanisabelle hahaha sige nga masubukan nga yan. Baka over time masanay nalang din ako
  • @DreamPinoy hi, 1. I'd recommend finding a temporary place to stay (friends or relatives if you have any) at least for a few weeks while you look for a more permanent place to live. I just looked for listings at flatmates and scheduled viewings/in…
  • @abby126863846328746 hi, I just searched through uni websites for scholarships. In my experience, mas may scholarships ang universities for undergrad / postgrad degrees than let's say vocational schools. When in doubt, contact the scholarships offic…
  • @dyanisabelle I find that useful din yung unli calls and text, in case walang internet yung other person. Yung AUD 24/month is discount price, parang 5% discount from orig price. It's not much, but definitely a lot cheaper than 30/month ng Vodafone …
  • @Mia ahahaha really? XD Even for a big city like Auckland, mahilig pala sila sa chismis hehehe. How do you react kung hindi nyo sila kilala and you don't want to share your life story with them? Do they get offended or they just leave you alone afte…
  • I've only been in Sydney for a month, but most of the people I've encountered (both Asian migrants and Caucasians) are nice naman. Nakakapanibago nga yung "how are you mate" whenever they greet you, minsan nakakalimutan ko magreply kasi d ko sure ku…
  • @dyanisabelle At first i kinda regretted buying the amaysim sim card, but when i realized how that free vodafone sim worked, parang mas tipid ung amaysim hahaha.
The first things I did were to apply for the NSW Photo Card, tax file number (even though wala pa rin akong work till now haha), open bank accounts, and activ…
  • Please check the forums first for GTE/SOP-related advice. There are several already out there. Use the search box function.
  • @chayix congrats on your visa!
  • @charm15 see DHA website.
  • @bankshot15 if PR is your endgame, why don't you check if you can apply directly for skilled migration?
  • @PongAsuncion Sydney based ka rin? Pwede rin, maybe we can try to arrange a meet-up with fellow Sydneysiders :) hehehe siguro pag medyo nakapagsettle na ng maayos ang mga bagong dating
  • @onehitwonder So tumuloy ka talaga sa Tasmania hehe. Maganda yang idea mo for people who want to migrate sa Tasmania :D Good luck on your studies!
  • @PongAsuncion I see. Yup, July intake po ako. No I didn't defer, my classes start July 30.
  • @daint081189 you don't need to post the same question on multiple threads.
  • Write a short version of the SOP so that could be put in the text box, then provide the longer SOP in pdf format to IDP so they'll attach that to your application.

  • @angelcheng There's plenty of info on how much you will spend, you apparently have not looked around enough. I think I've written a response to this question somewhere but I don't remember where, so I'll try to write it all over again and hope I don…
  • @MissAussie You plan to lodge student visa onshore? As far as I know, International students have to be full-time students (visa condition 8202), so taking a part-time evening course will not qualify you for a student visa. But of course, verify wit…
  • @Ajit22 if you know someone who is already in Australia, try asking how much ang palitan doon and then compare with the exchange rates in the Philippines. You c…
  • @MissAussie Please take a look at the following pages first (for complete details): Visa Extension No Further Stay Fact Sheet According to these pages, if you have a "No Further Stay" condition under your current visa, you can't lodge for a student…
  • @MLBS I see. During visa application I was only required to provide details of the English test: name of test (IELTS), date of test, test reference number, country where it was taken, and test core. No need to upload a scan of the exam results. I th…
  • @MLBS does the PTE exam indicate on the results the purpose of the exam? Was your PTE the Academic type or General? If you're going to universities, they might look for the Academic type of English exam; but try to confirm with the Admissions Office…
  • @Monique2018 congrats on the uni offer!
  • @MLBS I believe so. According to the Document Checklist ng DHA, these universities do not require evidence of financial capacity, likely because of the streamlined visa processing (the burden of confirming proof of financial capacity now goes to the…
  • @MLBS 2010 po hehehe
  • @foreverblessed You will have to inquire at your prospective school kasi sila lang ang talagang makakapagsabi kung sapat na yung K-12 education/diploma mo to enter their university program. Try to contact the Admissions Office through email or phone…
  • My decision to study was purely for professional development; I had no plans of migrating in AU when I applied for my school (my initial plan was to migrate in Canada). The course I selected kasi is only offered in Australia; walang universities in …
  • @ChefMa Will try to write updates on that! :)
  • @ChefMa DIY po ako, pero ang gastos ko lang is health exam fees kasi covered ng scholarship ko yung visa fee (nagulat din ako na hindi ako pinabayad nito during visa application) and OSHC (single coverage). Yung health exam fee ko was less than NTD …

New SimplyStall Mobile App!

Hi everyone!

I'm very happy to announce PinoyAu Forum's new app called "SimplyStall" . It's a new Gumtree like service for Pinoys in Australia but in a way better!

So if you have any items just collecting dust? Why not convert it to cash?

If you are selling new items or products or wish to give an item away for free then this might be a good avenue for you.

This project is a new initiative to unify and have a common portal for Pinoys in Australia to sell and share stuffs.

It's now available on Google Play and Apple App Store.

Please do try it out. I'd appreciate if you can help me spread the good news and start selling your old or new stuffs.
