Should I get a new Certificate of Employment?

edited March 2018 in Working and skilled visas
The last company I worked for provided me a Certificate of Employment after job termination, but it only states my name, my position in the company, and the start and end dates of employment. Having left the office in somewhat bad terms/conditions (I'm still annoyed by how they treat people--firing them and making it look like we resigned on our own just so they look "good"), I'm hesitant to request a new one (one that states my full-time status/work hours and compensation) because the HR manager who handled my termination had left the company shortly after I did. However, I do have a copy of my last work contract, which specifies my compensation and work hours.

I'd like to ask if it's okay to just use the Certificate of Employment and my work contract as proof of my full-time work experience and compensation when applying for the 189 visa, or is it better to get a new one drafted?

If you're going through ACS (I don't know about the other assessment bodies), you'd need a stat dec/affidavit of your job duties/descriptions. Then you can submit all 3 for assessment.

    SI 189 - Software Engineer - 261313 (80 pts)

    -- offshore --
    11-Oct-2017 - ACS (ICT major, 8+ years)
    18-Oct-2017 - PTE (90)
    19-Oct-2017 - EOI
    09-Nov-2017 - Invited
    06-Feb-2018 - Grant
    13-Feb-2018 - PDOS
    -- onshore --
    02-Jun-2018 - Initial entry
    04-Jun-2018 - TFN, Medicare, MyGov
    05-Jun-2018 - Start job hunting
    25-Jun-2018 - Driver licence
    26-Jul-2018 - Opened super
    30-Jul-2018 - Job 1 start - permie - $
    12-Feb-2021 - Job 1 end (redundancy)
    22-Feb-2021 - Job 2 start - contract - $$$

You will need to either submit an employment letter with the tasks you undertook or stat declaration. Either or...that's what we tell our clients as all assessing authorities require it.

@fruitys I initially planned to apply to AACA (for 189 visa), but recently decided to go for VETASSESS (190 visa) nalang. If stat dec yung kailangan sa ACS, baka similar din yung i-require sa VETASSESS. Salamat po sa advice!

@RheaMARN1171933 Ah I see. Maybe at this point I can just make a stat dec and include the information that's missing from the Certificate of Employment from that one company. Speaking of stat dec, meron daw mga blank stat dec forms online. Pwede po ba yun gamitin or mas ok na ako ang gagawa ng draft (like sariling format?

@athelene stat Dec templates are only in effect in the country stated in that form. Hence, it's completely pointless using such if it's signed in the Philippines as it cannot be enforceable by the law in the country mentioned as the rule of law applies in the Philippines. You're better off writing your own draft. My clients write their own drafts for all employment reference letters and stat dec statements and we check them first for compliance prior to getting them signed. That's part of the service we provide.
