As I checked the immi website, 189 intake only accepted 250 applicants with 85 points as the lowest.

I don’t think that information includes the new point system. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cut off points would have increased for December round.

When I say cut off points would have increased, I meant applicants may need more than 85 points as effect of the changes...unfortunately

It’s not for me to answer that. The higher the points the higher the chances. I would also not fixate on just 189 visa.
