Sa pag process, depende kasi. mas matagal kung magaapply pa lang sila for sponsorhip. Yung sa akin kasi pwede na sila mag sponsor. From nomination to visa grant mga 7-8 weeks inabot.

basahin nyo po ang visa 457 process sa skillselect website para alam nyo rin..
ang pinakamaganda, kung hindi alam ng company nyo kung papano..
eh maghire sila ng mga MARA to process your visa..
in case na ayaw nila gumastos, at kung payag kayo, para lang matuloy ang deal... eh magsuggest kayo ng mga ibang options like, pwede bang hati kayo sa processing fee..
or salary deduction.. etc...
yung first step kasi ang pinaka mahirap na processing for 457.. pag hindi pa registered ang company mo sa DIAC, hindi pa sila allowed mag sponsor ng 457... like what @epiboy99 mentioned... at yung stage na yun ang hindi natin alam kung pano gawin..
goodluck sir..

Eto copy-paste ko lang sa older post ko. Some basic things about the 457 po. Please feel free to add or correct me if I have some missed points.
The 457 is generally 3-part po kasi (sa pagkakaalam ko).
EMPLOYER SPONSORSHIP
Hindi lahat ng australian companies are allowed to bring foreign workers. May certain income bracket or earning power kailangan ipakita for a significant number of years, before they can nominate. Meron din po minimum number of employees, mostly in the thousands. Small companies, generally cannot. Applying to become a sponsor, I believe is a pretty complicated process.
Second, they have to prove that they cannot get australian citizens or PRs already onshore, thus the need to hire foreigners. With this year's tightening of 457 visa (lalo pa ngayon kay Abbott), nag-police na po kasi ang gobyerno nila sa mga companies. Hindi na basta-basta pumapayag ang gobyerno. Ang rationale: if makakahanap ng Australian to do the job, so why get somewhere else. Something to ask: Is the work you're going to be doing something specialised and in-demand in Australia?
EMPLOYEE NOMINATION
The only way po kasi Australian companies can bring foreigners in is through a working visa, which is generally the 457 or business long-term. To be able to do that, the worker must be earning at least $60.000 as per DIAC. This figure is submitted to DIAC during visa application.
Also, ang usual nito, nasa SOL ang occupation. Meaning, may shortage talaga. I don't have the SOL list, but you have to also look at SOL. This will be your guide whether you will get a shot of getting PR down the line. Also whether DIAC will likely approve your nomination.
VISA APPLICATION
Dito na papasok ang medicals, and the visa application itself. Most hiring companies pay for these. Also, most headhunters or agencies do not charge anything. So hindi kayo dapat pinagbabayad talaga. Wala pa akong na-meet na headhunter nagpapabayad. Sa mga nakausap ko na 457 (whether healthcare, IT, engineer etc., pero sa Brisbane lang po ako ha)... shoulder ng kumpanya lahat from nomination to relocation.
* If all above processes nasusunod, I'm thinking po that it's a safe bet that the company is legit at hindi abusado and thus, the transition to Au will be smoother.

I got an offer to work for a dredging company based in Perth as an Accountant, but my assignment would be in their new business in Nebo QLD. I was under 457 visa.
I was assigned in Perth HO for first few months suposedly for training.
Unfortunately, I lost my job eventually since their new business in QLD is not doing good at all. I was forced to resign, there are long stories behind but I wont elaborate anymore.
I had worked for them for only 6 months.
Out of fear of the cost of living in Perth, without a job, I decided to go back home nalang.
Tried my luck naman to look for another job/employer sponsor for about three weeks, but I failed to get, simply because of my status. I received interview invitations and phone calls mostly from recruitment agencies, highly qualified naman kaso nga lang when they learn about my status, most of their clients do not have any sponsorship capabilities nor want to hire people like me who has temporary visa.
There are a lot of Filipinos in WA, who has the same stories like mine. Marami sa kanila di naman nagjojoin ng forums like here. Massive ang job cuts sa WA nowadays esp. for 457 visa holders.
Sadly, even when I am here in Ph, I even try to apply thru seek, and other online sites.
But I almost give up dahil sa status ko, I got no responses.
Nakakapanghinayang nga lang dahil in effect parin ang visa ko per VEVO, which is still good for 4 years, up to Dec.2016, that my ex employer paid for everything.
But I havent receive any letter from DIAC of any warning about my visa validity.
Nakakainis lang na very restricted ang 457 visa, that you have to find an employer sponsor and may nomination pa na requirement.
Is there anyone who can suggest for what I can do better? Is there any way for me to know the status of my previous employer's sponsorship and nomination's validity?
I haven't inquired from DIAC yet, as I dont even know how to start inquiring from them..lol...
I am planning to contact my previous employer if there is still possibility na makabalik pa ako sa kanila, but the chances are very slim.
Otherwise, my next plan is to apply for PR nalang since i was able to save naman when i worked with them.
Is there any restriction, like my 457 visa is still valid,do i need to wait for DIAC to automatically cancel it before I apply for PR?
Guys, please help to enlighten me... any suggestions, comments would be appreciated.

like sa case namin, nung dumating kami 2008 as a 457 visa holders e $22/hr kami. yung mga bagong hire na citizens ay same din ung rate sa amin (may additional $1/hr lang pag me dagdag silang skill like a forklift ticket) then every year meron kaming increase as per Consumer Price Index, plus me every 6months appraisal.
Basta laging tandaan na ang 457Visa holders ay merong exceptional skill or shortage skill dito sa Au at hindi ibig sabihin na kaya na hire ka as 457 dahil kelangan ng company na makatipid.
