Medical Lab Scientist and Medical Lab Technician

Desert_CowboyDesert_Cowboy Port MacquariePosts: 187Member

Hello. Are Medical Lab Scientist 234611 and Medical Lab Technician 311213 closely related?
Nabasa ko kasi dapat same ung first 4 digits ng ANZSCO code.
Nagclaim po kasi ako ng points for my experience in Saudi Arabia as Lab Technician. All expats po kasi sa Saudi Arabia ay designated as Laboratory Technician regardless kung Bachelor degree / PRC board passer dto sa atin. I think same goes for Nurses, Nurse technician cla pag sa Saudi. Nainvite po ako for 491 visa. Ang delimma ko po is baka hindi irecognise ung experience ko sa Saudi as Lab Technician. Anyone on this group who experienced the same situation? Thanks

The skills assessment would speak for itself. If the experience is recognised at skills experience stage then should be fine. It sounds like you’ve not done your skills assessment yet?

I had my skills assessment already po. I'm on the visa lodging stage but I'm a little worried about this.
There are 2 stages of Assessment for AIMS.
On my first stage, all my documents and experiences were assessed as "equates to work in an appropriately skilled level" and I was qualified as Med Lab Technician. I sat the exams for AIMS and after passing, I was re qualified as Medical Lab Scientist.

I don’t understand why you should be confused at this stage when you’ve got your skills assessed anyway. You use the occupation you were assessed for during skills assessment. Skills assessment should have made your path a lot clearer. Unfortunately I can’t provide a thorough insight via this forum but what I’ve just mentioned should somehow give you an idea. All the best.
