CFO in Old Passport

Guys/Gals... we just attended CFO orientation two weeks ago. Unfortunately, my wife needs to renew her passport since mag expire na sya within 6 months... Did you have any problems when you left Manila? Kinulit ba kayo ng immigation.. We heard a story na may kababayan tayo na pinapaulit yung yung CFO orientation and pinapatatakan yung new passport... Then in the end.. pinaalis din sya ng Pinas.. kaso lang nagbayad sya ng mga 10k.... anybody experience this? as far as we know... based on the CFO orientation.. no need to get another sticker kahit na magpalit ng passport.... you just need to show your old passport na may sticker..

Tama ka... No need to endure another useless seminar just to get a sticker on your current passport; bringing the old passport with the darn sticker should be sufficient.

I am just curious, saan mo naman narinig ito? If that person knows his right, he could have fought for it and not result into being bullied by the immigration officers...

@TasBurrfoot.. my wife heard this story while renewing her visa sa DFA.. may nakatabi sya na tiga Adelaide..sinabi sa amin yung incident na yon... kaya kabilin bilinan nya sa wife ko na magpapatatak ulit... pero kami.. di kami mag patatak ulit.. kasi sinabi naman sa orientation yon..

yup better bring the old passport with CFO sticker. Kung ako siguro napatapat dun sa immigration offcier asking for 10k and another cfo sticker for new passport malamang na highblood ako at nakipag discussion sa IO. Im very eager to know their intelligent comment on purpose of this another cfo sticker or they just following their own rules blindly (if theres any specific provisions). CFO sticker is just to evidence na nagundergo ka ng isang training which guide the new immigrant. Its not in any relevant laws but rather memorandum/ initiatives ng govt agencies Asking 10k for that is no doubt a form of corruption and you can report it to media/or to their superior. You ask for official receipt. Im not even sure that they can actually prevent someone frm leaving a country because of that. Our constitution only requires basic documents (ticket, passport) and you have right to travel. Your not a national threat in the first place or a criminal. Panfilo lacson even challenge Doj secretary laila de lima about the hold departure order and theres no absolute answer/laws that she cant state other than their own policies. Bureau of immigration is under DOJ. Sorry for ranting, im just irritated to these govt employees/ officers that taking advantage sa mga kababayan natin. They are not the law itself and above law.
