    hi Karl,

Yes im planning to apply for a skilled independent, sa ngayon ata 120 points right? is it really hard to get an ielts score band of 7 points? about education qualifaction... kapag nag pa-assess ba sa ACS... iindicate ba nila kung equivalent sa Australian Qualification ung Degree ko? confusing ba?

    thanks

    Hi aolee,

ACS propably use the standard CEP for Educational Institutions in the Philippines.
It seems like there is more weight given to skills and work experience rather than the nominated occupation, (eventhough you must still nominate a occupation)

    Regards,
    Karl

i haven't read them thoroughly, pero ang alam ko iniindicate lang kung anu equivalent ng degree qualification ko sa AU qualification. but d ko alam kung enough na ba yun para i acknowledge ng DIAC, example, if the assessement result says equivalent to Bachelor nga ako, enough na ba cya para makuha ko ng proper point sa new point system?

@aolee, nagpa-assess ako sa ACS. sa result iindicate nila ano ang specialization mo, like Java, Oracle, Mainframe etc. kse I think sa IT, meron skills na 50 lang ang points, max is 60.
dont know if same padin sa new point system

Ah talaga thanks for the info. Tingin ko apllicable pa yan sa new point system. Medyo mahihirapan pala ko makalusot kung ganon, kasi open source ang mga alam ko.

Sa new point system aalisin na ung points for occupation but still required na nasa list ung occupation mo. Hay parang sumobra ata higpit ng process. Wag sana maoofend ung mga naunang naka punta dyan pero feeling ko, mga magagaling ang mga batch na makakalusot sa new point system. Ielts pa pang 7 n ang requirement para magkapuntos...

    Hi guys,

I just crossed this article just now... about the new point system

    http://www.prlog.org/11375971-visa-bureau-reviews-of-australian-general-skilled-migration-result-in-new-points-test.html

according to it, medyo unclear pa talaga yung ibang aspect sa new point system.

na-cite dito ung tungkol sa Bachelor degree.

"Additionally, they say that applicants with a Bachelor's degree will be awarded a specific number of points, but it isn't yet clear whether individuals with equivalent professional membership qualifications will also be awarded these points (as they are currently deemed comparable to a Bachelor's according to the country education profiles) or if it will be very strict that only applicants with a Bachelor's degree will be eligible to receive these points. "

From the link provided above. I know we are still in wonder of how this new point system will affect an applicant, somehow I just wish that professional license will be given an extra point, even just 5. But, I don't seem to see any award to be given based on the links provided on the DIAC website. As for Bachelor's Degree, hopefully, that this does not discriminate on a university/college class/section as per Country Education Profiles will tell us.

The DIAC website is open enough that this new system is a major turn on for very high IELTS scores, highest educational attainment (PhD), longer working experience, and those belonging to the middle age group: 25-32 years old, (I really hope that I am 25 now, HAHA, I would wait for 2 years and 3 months for that, SIGH). I would really have hope that TBS of 8 will suffice, but they really require an 8 for EACH sub-test. Oh well, we could settle for 7.

If I may just ask, how can we amass 5 points from Country Language: Filipino? Do we really need to be accredited by NAATI as a translator or interpreter?

I am aware that it is expected that 65 is the new passing mark. Let's pray that the passing mark will be curtailed down to 60. Please, Lord?

yes Admin John, may Friend ako sa pinas who took the exam, kakaiba raw talaga. and daming words na d mo akalain na nageexist pero nasa exam, and hirap i translate daw nung transalations items. ang masaklap mas mahal pa ata ito kesa IELTS.

Is the exam being offered here in the Philippines? How much would it cost? Are you given the choice to sit for an exam in any of the two: Translator or Interpreter? How did the people you know faired? How's their results?

    Hi,

Question lang po on the new point system, dun sa points on Overseas Work Experience. Yung term nila na "overseas", yun ba is if nag-work ka outside of your country (like OFW) or your work in the Philippines is considered as overseas work ng new point system? Kasi di ba meron din na points for Australian Work Experience. My assumption is they use the term "overseas" just to distunguish between Australian and non-Australian work experience. Tama po ba?

I am asking kasi po baka mamaya yung overseas pala is work outside ng Pilipinas. If ganun kasi bagsak kami sa new point system. :-(

Nominated Occupation: Software Engineer (261313) - Husband is the primary applicant.

10.21.2012 - Arrived in Melbourne. This is the day that the Lord has made. :)
03.26.2012 - Visa granted. God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! :)
03.23.2012 - PCC submitted and medicals finalized
03.02.2012 - Application being processed further / CO assigned
    06.26.2011 - Lodged Visa 175 application
