hello everyone,

i would like to ask for your expert advise regarding our present condition.
here's our story..

during the process of our application,my ex bf then now hubby are both working in SG, but i decided to resign na after we finished all the requirements like coc,nbi and medicals kasi we are also preparing for our wedding by that time (our wedding was held last nov 8)..so 3rd week of Sept we already submitted all the necessary docs to our agent and waiting na lang for our visa grant..3rd week of sept also umuwi na ako ng pinas..naiwan si hubby dito sa sg to continue his work and plan na uuwi na lang siya last week of october for our wedding..came last week of oct nagpaalam si hubby na magleave for 3 weeks for our wedding..leave approved naman..everything went smoothly, visa grant received oct 17, wedding went super fine until after, officemate of hubby texted him na their site has been closed for good na..so in other words wala na silang trabaho..and wala na kami parehong trabaho na babalikan sa sg..hindi pa kinacancel yung pass ni hubby until makakita siya ng bagong work..

Now sobrang naguguluhan kami,,ano bang magandang gawin, magapply pa ulit dito sa sg or dercho na kami sa oz?naisip kasi namen na same scenario lang din (and mahirap ang pass approval sa sg ngayon considering na naghihigpit na sila sa mga foreigners)..parehong magapply lang din kami and magsstart ng bago .. kaso kasi we are only able to save roughly 12k aud and gusto sana namen dagdagan yung baon just in case hindi agad makahanap ng work sa oz. is that amount enough to start anew sa oz?

any words of wisdom to ease our current situation will be much appreciated..

thanks everyone!!!..

God bless pinoy au!!!

kung ako - long term path na - Oz. 12K - should be enough for a simple life / humble beginning. Mukhang wala pa kayong kids so it will be a challenging and exciting adventure dun. Just imagine how fulfilling it is kung meron na kayo trabaho pareho after a few weeks.

Everything will be alright, pinoy tayo, may agimat ang dugo :) --- Pray and trust God. [-O<

thanks @rareking sa advice.. Yun nga din ang iniisip namen ni hubby.. actually andito kame sa SG now to settle some stuffs and to look for new jobs pareho..

Siguro nga more excited kami sa OZ than finding a new employment here s SG.

ikaw @rareking kelan mo plan pmunta dun? batchmate tayo diba..? hehe..

i guess we need more ng lakas ng loob for our leap of faith..

Thanks po @bookworm for your thoughts..

actually 2yrs+ pa lang kame ngwowork dito sa SG. we are only work pass holders.. yung funds na makukuha if only for permanent residents because they have CPF contributions ( same as SSS sa Pinas ). They can withdraw the funds once they withdraw their permanent residency here. but we don't have it.

Yun din po ang iniisip namen. to engage in odd jobs temporarily para makasurvive. Pwede nman po cguro du mag part-time jobs db...

Problem dn po kasi namen is wala kame kakilala sa OZ which makes us more anxious..

If I we're in your situation, mauuna na siguro ako (guy's perspective) then I will try to look for whatever job that I can find just to sustain my living while looking for a job that is inline in my profession then pauwiin ko muna sa pinas si wife.

Anyway, same lang naman yung situation niyo whether sa australia or singapore e. kasi continous na magdedeplete yung money niyo hanggang makahanap ng work so why not do it directly in Australia. :)

The longer you stay in Singapore, the more you miss out on opportunities in Australia to start your career and build a nest.

Kung nanghihinayang talaga kayo sa pera o tingin ninyo kakapusin kayo ng baon, pwede niyo rin gawin na may maunang isa - in our case nauna na ako dito dahil yung fiance ko tatapusin pa contract sa Singapore (teacher siya, tatapusin niya yung school year). I could've stayed longer pero tingin ko mas mahihirapan kami magsimula dito kung sabay kaming jobless. Guess what - I'm earning a lot more here than I was in Singapore for the same job.

    thank you po guys @vhoythoy @RED @goreo ..

yup newlyweds po kame.. kaya po medyo ndi pa sufficient ung naipon namen.. given also the situation ni hubby na unexpectedly nawala yung work nya. Though after ng wedding pa sya ninotify ng company about the sad news, nalungkot kame aftr a very happy wedding. imagine the twist of fate..

ayun din po yung iniisip namen na drecho nlng sana kame dun. but we still need to go here at sg to settle some stuffs.. yung mga gamit dn kasi namen andito pa..

narealize din po namen na while staying here sa SG na mabbawasan dn ung funds since very expensive po na mgstay dito.. iniisip lng dn po namen ung settlement funds pagpunta sa oz kaya hesitant kame.. haay buhay parang life.. hehe..

@iamyourangel08 meron ba kayong matutuluyan sa Sydney or magrerent kayo? Ang gawin mo maghanap na kayo ng matutuluyan and compute the possible expenses for maximum of 3mos.

Based po sa monthly budget ng ibang tao dito sa forum for a couple or kahit with one kid nga roughly nasa 3k per month ang budget. So mga four months po ang itatagal nung 12k nyo if dalawa kayo punta dito kagad. Ano po ba line of work nyo?

@iamyourangel08 Yup, most companies are shutting down during the holidays pero sabi rin nila this is also the time when you can get short-time gigs / odd jobs in the f&b/retail/service industry.

So I assume wala kayong matutuluyan dito ng libre pansamantala. Kung meron sana, I'd tell you na 12k AUD is more than enough. Kami ni partner, we came here with only 6k AUD and was able to start work almost 2 months after landing. So imagine yung kaba at takot namin maubusan ng pera at wala pa rin trabaho. Luckily, we have had a lot of good friends here in Sydney who were willing to take us in and let us live off of them until we are able to stand on our own 2 feet.

On the other hand, I would like to playfully disagree with @Red na dapat mauna yung lalaki dahil physically strong siya and more able to get an odd job. Si partner ko, she got a casual job as a waitress at Ribs and Burgers during the time na wala pa kaming full time job. She's actually still doing it alongside her full time work. So extra ka-ching! Habang ako, nakahilata lang sa bahay at nagrerelax after 5pm. hehehe.

@cholle - kumuha ka na agad ng kotse? I've been driving in PH for almost 5 years before I came over here, but I could never bring myself to drive here yet.

Not really sure if there will be a big difference kung isa sa inyo mauna or sabay kayo. You can still rent one room. And more than enough na yung savings nyo.

We are now preparing ourselves physically, emotionally and financially..isang malaking leap of faith talaga itong gagawin namen..

Sa totoo lang din po ayaw namen na isa samen maiiwan sa pinas, mas ok kasi (for us) na magkasama atleast hindi ganun kalungkot and may karamay sa mga struggles na maeencounter namen..hehehe

@iamyourangel08 I think it is a sign na you should push though na...
By reading your story, all your plans are in place na nga e, from your application to AU, marriage, and meron na rin kayong sufficient funds kahit na nawalan pa ng work husband mo. It could go the other way if one of these didn't happen di ba?
    Good luck and God bless
