My son's braces just came off a few weeks ago so I can share from experience. The ortho package fee for the braces was $6500. I initially paid a downpayment of $1700 and the rest in $800 quarterly instalments. I got $2400 rebate from my private health insurance which is the lifetime limit per person for major dental as per our policy.. But then he had to have surgery to extract 4 wisdom teeth and 4 molars which cost me another $3500 which was not covered by my health insurance as it was considered major dental and he already maxed out his lifetime limit.
