Grocery/Food Items in AU vs <asian country>

We moved to Australia last year, and we're finding na some food or grocery items dito taste different than where we came from (Singapore & Philippines). So curious lang po if may masa-suggest kayong alternative.

1. Brown Sugar. We've tried CSR and Coles but bakit parang iba ang lasa nya? Parang kulang (hindi kasing tamis perhaps?) We made kutsinta and biko recently and iba ang outcome nya... different from the batches we made noong nasa Singapore kami.

2. Cake Flour. My daughter loves baking bread noong nasa Singapore pa lang kami and medyo tinatamad sya dito because wala syang makitang Cake Flour sa Coles at Woolies. We did google around and saw some suggestion (substitute)... but just wondering if may nakita na kayong Cake Flour talaga dito (we're in South East Melbourne and yung pinuntahan naming nearest na Asian Stores don't have any)
