Family with toddler, how did you manage?

Hi, Guys. Hope you could give me tips kung paano ang may toddler dyan. Pinapasok nyo sa daycare yung baby nyo if may pasok kayo? How long nyo iniiwan? May babysitter ba kayo or nanny na nagbabantay sa bata while nasa work or school kayo? Mahirap ba and mahal? I will be bringing my baby with me kasi and hubby will be left behind dahil mahirap if magleave sya sa work. Im under student visa. Meron bang daycare na for few hours lang puede iwan si baby? Like maybe siguro 1-2 hours ganun? Maganda naman yung quality of care na binibigay? Andun naman yung brother ko kaso he is working din. Any useful tips? Di ko kaya iwan baby ko. Hahaha. Di ko kaya.

hi Yukishih.....same din ksma nmin ni hubby c baby namin,ngtanong nko s sydney me mga childcare nman sila,mejo kmhalan lang ng konti dw. depende s oras n iiwan mo dun,pwede half or wholeday.

Hi, Sis. Wala pa feedback ang Nationwide if forwarded na medicals namin. Sa Deakin ako sis. Melbourne. Maiwan si hubby ko sa holidays lang sya sunod. Sayang kasi ang work and career nya dito if i give up nya. Nagtitingin ako ng family daycare, mas cheaper sya kesa sa childcare. Childcare kasi kasama ang nappies, food and education. Sabi nga ng brother ko yung kasama nyang family sa house malaki nagagastos. Halos 200/ week daw nagagastos nila. Ilan taon na kid mo sis? Kelan pasukan ni hubby mo? Yung friend ko inabot ng 1 month kanina lang nya nakuha ang visa nya. Medyo nangangarag ako sa kakaisip ng magagastos sa daycare. Sana puede magdala ng yaya no? Hahaha.

actually ng-orientation n s school,s monday un start ng school.MBA course ng hubby ko 2years course, sbi ng embassy 14days lang un approval pero till now wala p.

anytime bili p kmi ng ticket ni hubby,kmi by january nlng kami susunod ng baby ko kc ngwowork pko dito s singapore sayang un mga bonuses p (hehehehe). at un bahay nmin dito nkacontract p.

last Aug13,tumawag nko naisubmit n nila s Embassy and ng-acknowledged ndin sila that they receive.

Nag follow up ako sa embassy they forwarded it daw sa global health au hintayin daw nila na mafinalize usually daw it take 20 days.

@Robbie1977 Sa september 27 na. Need ko na sana pabook ng flight to get a cheap fare. Kaso di ko naman alam if approved kami ng visa or kung kelan lalabas. Iniisp ko pa anung airlines magbook tapos syempre gamit pa na need iprep or bilhin. Haisst...

kung start sila count ng Aug14 without the holidays ngyun ay 12days palang....pero un iba at sau after ng medical send to ehealth,dun naaprove n.
hopefully ngyun till tomorow mkareceive n goodresult.

Pareho tayo sis. May list sila ng schools na under streamlined visa. 14 days nga lang yon. Hwag mo icount holidays sis. Magfollow up ka. Ako nagfollow up tapos sabi 20 days pa daw bago malaman tapos biglang nadeliver na lang visa ko. Mag appeal ka. Kapag streamlined considered as assessment level 1. Ganun din sa akin.

Yukishih, pasok ako dito ha. long day care dito sa western sydney avg mga $80/day, ang mahal, pahirapan pa mag hanap ng vacancy kasi most of the time puno, meron silang waitlist na napaka haba. Sa tingin ko best option yung may sasamang family member na pwede mag bantay ng bata. May 2 yr old din ako, d ko alam kung san ko to iiwan pag may mahanap na akong trabaho.

@mikai ganun ba. Naku, bahala na si LORD sa akin. Di ko talaga kaya iwan ang baby ko. Same tayo 2 years old din sa akin. Di pa kasi ako PR so mahirapan ata ako magsama aside sa asawa ko. Student lang ako eh. Asawa ko kasi may work dito sa atin hirap sya magleave. Ayoko din naman magresign sya.

Pwede option is relative. Dumaan sa normal process mg tourist visa 676. Huwag sabihin na magbabantay ng bata. Questionnable pa yun e, sabihin na lang for holiday. Although curious din ako kung meron na nakagawa dito na magapply long stay tourist visa para sa relative na child care ang ginawa reason.

galing kami sa auckland nz, di kami nahirapan mag hanap ng childcare there.. private or public in nz partially subsidized ng govt. we got here in oz last aug. and di ko na realize na iba pa la system here..nag hanap ako ng daycare for my 4 years old. full lahat least waiting time was 6 months daw. we don't know any pinoys here too that would take care of our daughter while we are at work kasi before sa nz may mga lolo/ lola nasa bahay lang willing to do those pero dito if wala kang kilala.. di wala din.
in short, my husband had to take our daughter back to the philippines while naka waitlist sya for daycare. we can't do nanny / babysitter or au pair.. they charge almost 20 aud per HOUR! i work 12 hours as a nurse kahit na may 3 days off ako or naka nights mahirap pa rin...
my husband goes to school full time din with that set up whatever money we have saved maubos lang sa childcare.. so talagang sobrang hard decision to make but for practicality na lang.. we had to take her home while waiting na may vacancy sa listings sa daycare or sa primary school kasi 5 na sya by next year.
advise ko to people coming here with kids.. make sure you have sorted out childcare kasi depende saan kayo na suburb..some suburb mahirap mag hanap ng vacancy. i called about 20 plus daycare in our area plus surrounding suburbs pa. they told me ang uso in oz once your baby is born lista agad for daycare...ganyan ka in demand yung daycare nila.

if you want to bring relatives naman.. you can't sponsor anyone unless you are a permanent resident or citizen. only option is for that relative to go through the normal process... show money/ evidence of funds and etc. for a tourist visa. so also not an option for us kasi work visa holder lang kami.
au pair are usually student/ tourist visa holders here in exchange for lodging and you also pay them hourly rate they will live with you and look after your kids..but it's a part time thing...kasi they are either going to school also or in holiday... gig yang ng mga brits/ kiwis while doing their overseas experience after college/ high school..to travel and earn pocket money.

Pwede kang magfamily daycare. Merong mga carer na ginagawa nila ang pag-aalaga nila sa house nila. Limited of 6 kids lang sa isang carer/house. You can choose the time. Sasabihin nila sa iyo kung ano ang available time nila. They are registered and if you are PR yung binabayd mo sa kanila will have a 50% refund.
Other option is make friends with other filipinos closer to your place. They might have parents on holiday. You can ask them to look after your baby. Bigyan mo na lang ng konting bayad :-)
Yan ang sakripisyo natin dito sa abroad. First day na iniwan ko anak ko sa family day care malapit na ako sa office I decided to do a u turn go back to the carer and took care my kids.Kinumusta ko ba nmn kc. Ang sabi sa akin nga carer, tahimik lang daw and nung umalis ako, tears are keep falling from his eyes without any sound of crying. my boy was only 2.5 years then. Nung mga sumod na araw, tiniis ko na lang talaga. Now he is 6 years old. Thank God nalampasan din nmin yung mga emote emote moments na yun. Hirap kaya sa nanay ng ganun...:-)

@vangievc thanks! Yep, dun din po ako tumitingin. Wala pa kasi ako pinoy friends na malapit dito. Hehe. Temporary visa lang po ako / student visa. Nagtry ako ng babysitter and okay naman kay baby kaso ang sakit sa bulsa. Hahaha.

@Yukishih masakit nga sa bulsa yan. Kung kami ngang may 50% refund na e nabibigatan, how much more kung full pa binabayaran mo. Tyaga ka na lang. Malalampasan nyo rin yan. God Bless.

Isa rin to sa concerns ko kasi if papalarin kaming ma-approve, ang target namin by January 2014 dapat nasa AU na kami. Eh kaka-1.5 year old pa lang ang baby boy ko nun. Nag-research ako ng cost ng child care ang range is $60-$80 per day. Ouch! Eh pareho pa naman kami magwowork so no choice kung hindi iwan sa childcare si baby.
