Ok, the first thing we did was we went to the Family Day Care office and inquired kung anu-ano mga requirements to become a registered carer:

    1. Apply for a blue card (both the carer and her spouse - as a support carer). Medyo matagal ito. It took us 8 weeks bago na-receive yung blue card namin.
    2. While waiting for the blue card, wife attended First Aid Training (2 days training ito).
    3. Complete the online training for Food Handling.
    4. May mga materials pa na binigay sa kanya ang FDC for her review.
    5. Get 2 referral letters sa kilala namin within our community.
    6. Get written permission from your landlord - kailangan ito if you are renting the house. Medyo nahirapan kami dito dahil our house is provided by my employer. So sila ang nagbabayad nito kaya I have to justify to both my employer and the house owner kung bakit kailangan ko ng written permission from them.
    7. FDC will conduct initial inspection of house for safety and suitability ng house for child care activity. Kailangan may fence/gate at kung anik-anik pa for kids safety. Pati yung mga plastics, cleanser, etc e dapat naka-lock para di makuha or magamit ng mga bata.
    8. Get public liability insurance.
    9. FDC will conduct final inspection of house to check if safety deficiencies have been rectified.
    10. My wife attended a 3 hour orientation prior to start of her employment.
    11. After completing all the above requirements, a Certificate of Approval was awarded to her.

So it took us 3-4 months to complete the requirements bago sya nakapag start as carer. Pwede siguro in less than 3 months kung walang problema sa pag comply ng mga requirements.
This is very informative, salamat sa pag share. Now we know mai ganito pala jan.

Initial reaction ko lang is natatakot ako, kc bata na yan eh, very precious at very curious, few seconds your not looking at them baka ano na ginagawa :-s Dapat tlga alert.

So far nmn po ok lng ung pagiging carer ni wifey mo? Mostly pinoy ung mga clients?

    TIA

hello makikisali din ako, is it hard ba na ikuha ng tourist visa ang family member para sila ang magbantay ng bata? assuming both parents are working.
    no, not hard

have applied for in-laws, my father and 3 of my sister never had any issues
Just want to know if your sisters have work back in ph. I want to apply TV for my sisters as well, but they are all housewives. Did you declare the reason for the visa, that is to look after your child?

Shes working and her husband and yung parents ang naiiwan sa bahay magalaga. Sabi nya bawal daw malaman un at secret lang, i dont know what she meant. Is there a law or rules against it?

Ic. Very secretive kasi sya na ayaw nya may makaalam na naiiwan yung parent nya sa haus nila magisa together with her baby.

Medyo matagal tagal na din sya sa Perth mga 6 years na yata and citizen na din. Medyo iwas din daw sya makihalubilo sa mga ilang pinoy at madami daw tsismosa. I dont know hehe

You can always say na nandun sila to visit their grandchild, I can attest to this kasi ganun sinabi ko sa invitation letter ko. On regards sa maiiwan sila sa bahay, you can always say they're spending time with their grand children. Mahihirapan ka kung mdyo bata pa parents mo or sister mo, kasi mdyo mag-dududa embassy na hindi na sila babalik. Ako kasi nasa 70's na parents ko so hindi na ganun kadudaduda.

Work by definition ng bureau of statistics ng australia at fairwork act is you are to gain something and you can always claim family taking care of family is not a personal gain as long as they stay within their period.

One option na pwde mo gawin is carer's visa, pwde sila mag-stay ng mas matagal.

Hi, thank you for this informative thread specifically on being a registered carer.
I am a SAHM as well and planning to enrol as a registered carer and put up a family day care.
Ang question ko lang kay @johnandjosh or anybody who could answer my question is how do you manage to send and pickup your kid/s to and from school kung carer ka and you need to be at home all day to care for other kids? I asked this because my husband works on a day shift and ako ang naghahatid and sundo sa kid namin. We don't have any parent or relative staying with us. Thanks in advance for your reply. ;)

Hi, I am moving din with wife and 1y/o baby to Sydney by Oct/Nov this year under PR visa na kami 3. Ask ko lang sa may mga experience na sa child care, kelangan ba andun na si baby para mapawaitlist sa childcare? Balak ko kasi sa pinas muna sila ni misis hanggat wala pa childcare. Balita ko matagal daw waiting list e.

How about ung private carers especially pinoys? May contact po kayo? Thanks!
