Hi!

I found something that might help...

    Hepatitis
Australian health authorities consider that the risk of newly arrived
migrants transmitting hepatitis is low. Screening for
hepatitis is nevertheless mandatory if you are:
    • pregnant;
    • an unaccompanied refugee minor;
    • a child for adoption; or
    • a child in the care of an Australian state or territory
    government welfare authority.
Examining doctors or MOCs may also ask any applicant to
undergo tests for hepatitis where they consider it necessary.

Where you test positive for hepatitis, your application will not
necessarily be rejected although further tests may be required.

In most cases you will be asked to give an undertaking to report
to the Health Undertaking Service for referral to state or
territory health authorities on arrival in Australia.

Hi when its comes to health issue it's a case to case basis. Dipende sa panel doctor at CO if you need additional blood test or other medical test to make sure your healthy or mababa ang level ng hepa b. Importante your honest sa pag fill up ng form kung may mga health issue. If you think your qualified ang skilled mo, you have budget sa fees at pasado ka naman sa IELTS at sa iba pang examination para ma recognize ang profession mo just try for it. samahan mo ng dasal at ipaubaya kay GOD ang application mo if is will of GOD.

    http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/815.pdf

    Good luck and GOD bless...

Hi @kaycee, meron silang hbsag reactive na test. nandun din sa medical na forms tanong if reactive ba yung results mo to hepatitis. If alam mong oo, dapat ideclare mo.

God bless!

binasa ko na mabuti uli yung sa DIAC website and other links. Public threat daw ang hep b for temporary visa applicants na magwowork as a nurse. I dont understand, are they more strict with temporary visa applicants?

@kaycee I think they are more stricter with Temporary visa applicants because they have no Medicare or health care provided by the Gov't. Kaya siguro mas strict sila when it comes to temporary residents.

@prettylala - it is always better to say the truth sa medical exam..

the only thing na pwede mangyari, your medical results will go to status "Referred", for further analysis.. and it will add approximately 2-3 months sa total visa processing time..

Makikitanong na rin ako. How about yong mga major operations like sa kidney. Since birth ung case na not functional ung right kidney so naoperahan mga late 1990's. ^^

@prettylala I second @lock_code2004 , kailangan nyo po ideclare yan. If you passed their health requirements, iggrant pa rin naman po kayo ng visa.

@Strader, yep I think mare"referred" sya for further analysis. Just prepare all the med cert just in case hingin ng CO sau.

general question po... like sa case ni @prettylala, any kind of illness po not necessarily Hepa-B, what if hindi ni-declare ng applicant then nakalusot sa medical.

I advise you to say the truth.

Goodluck.. cheers

@TotoyOZresident thanks. We kept our recent check.up records like sa mga lab tests. Mga twice or thrice a year din naman kasi pumupunta sa doctor for check.up.. conscious lang sa health kasi isa na ang kidney but the body itself is well adjusted already to 1 kidney since inborn defect ung right kidney.

At least kung darating na kami sa time for medical meron na kaming med cert. May idea na ^^

just be prepared that if you declare, be ready for the long process of Medication, test, proof na OK na, etc...
generally even if you have have a letter from your specialist that it is "inactive", the Doctors from the Certified Clinic (for example st luke's malate) is the one na kailangan na mag certify that it is really inactive/cured. So definitely there would be a lot of test.
Basically if you declare, you need to satisfy them of their requirements.

Doesnt matter if you get a visa or not. You wont get a hospital job for sure if you have hep b. when i got a job here as a nurse even if i have been living in nz prior to that meaning i had to get medicals x2 also while in nz for the visa and for my job there. i had to undergo all tests again paid by the hospital when i got to oz even if i did visa medicals too.

I know someone who had childhood tb completely cured na kasi in her 30s already and has worked in dubai in icu also. She underwent all tests again here even if she passed her visa medicals. Her x ray showed scarring. She was not allowed to work even though she had letters from her pinas doctor, dubai doctor and the doctor who did her oz visa until she had mantoux or qt gold, ct scans paid by the hospital and reviewed by the oz doctor na scar lng talaga yun and not active tb.

So kahit maka lusot ka sa medicals for visa. Consider what kind of employment you will get in oz. i mean why would they hire someone with a blood borne pathogen when there are thousands of british, indian and other asians with tons of experience who do not have a questionable medical background? It may sound harsh but nurses are a dime a dozen here.

    Sad but true.
