Land Surveyors, how is the current job market situation?

I'm planning to go to Western Australia by Sept-Oct this year. I have tried applying while still outside Australia pero wala pang mga reply (The big 3 jobsites + Linkedin + Workabroad) Though I keep getting calls and emails for middle east & Sg jobs. I have no friends who are in my line of work in Australia, even batchmates in college (very few practice my line of work) majority goes GIS, kaya mahirap i-gauge ang situation. What I've noticed in SOL is that they have a ceiling for surveyors (960) but they have only gotten (25) last 2013. That's a good thing, right? But I also know that there is slowdown in the construction and mining sectors.

Are there any Surveyors or anybody involved in Geomatics, that can point me in the right direction? Many thanks to your replies.

    interesting. practicing GEs? i'll check it out. though i really would prefer a job in western australia. pero kung saan muna makahanap. saka na maging choosy. haha.
