Mga troops... hindi ko na kau iisa isahin replayan ah... So far ok naman dito sa melbourne. Super lamig ngaun dito... Ayun need namin bumili ng heater kasi sa gabi super lamig.
Nakapag-enroll na din kami sa medicare, waiting nalang to send ung card sa house address namin. Centerlink also is done, pero waiting pa kami ng Tax Reference Number para sa claim ng Family Tax Benefit. Nakapagsubmit na kami ng request for TRN.

Sa Job hunting.. start na din ako, cyempre... Umpisahan ko muna sa nominated occupation ko. Marami pa naman baon.. Although marami naman jobs na pwedeng patusin kung gipit talaga sa budget.

Experience ko sa NAB migrant banking... Grabe ang laki ng bawas sa forex.. nalungkot talaga ako. nabawasan ng halos 300AUD. Advise ko.. kung kaya nyo hand carry better.. tapos dito nalang kau mag-open. Another thing.. kokonti ang atm ng NAB dito (Melbourne).. advise sa akin ng mga tropa ko na noypi dito is commonwealth bank, kasi madami ATM.

Another thing.. Mga tropang SG peeps dyan.. Make sure to convert ung drivers license nyo to SG.. para direct na. Late kong nalaman ito kaya hnd ako nakapagconvert.. Well.. kung may PH driver license ka naman., pwede gamitin ng 6 months tapos need na to convert to AU license.

Hi Bro, wala ba expiration yan like dapat maactivate in few months yun acct dun sa AU? Parang may nabasa kse ako dito sa ibang thread nagshare na migrant may open an acct at least 2 months prior to trip to AU.

yun sa NAB, single transfer transaction lang nag charged na ng 300aud? tsaka di ba pag nihand-carry may limit lang and need ideclare?

sa DL conversion, iaallow ba nila maconvert kung bago lang license? like if i recently converted to SG license. Or need ko rin pakita Ph license along with SG license para mapaconvert to AU?

Ako, will try ANZ bank. Meron dito e. Gusto ko lang ganyan para mas safe kasi di ko dala dala lahat at one time. Konti lang dadalhin kong pera, pang 1 buwan lang. Kasi pag marami na dalang gamit, tsaka documents, ang hirap pa isipin at mag alala sa dala dalang pera. Tsaka alam mo naman sa pinas, nakakatakot matiktikan sa airport. Baka kung ano pa mangyari.

@gilberttkd Thanks sa pag share, nagreresearch pa naman ako kanina ng migrants banking... Paano ba yun? For example andyan ka sa SG, SG Dollar ang dineposit mo, tapos may forex gap because of current exchange rate?

Reply to all nalng ulet...

Ang ginawa ko is punta ako sa BDO.. peso kasi account ko. Kinonvert nila sa USD.. tapos tsaka telegraphic transfer. NAB na ang nagvonvert ng pera from USD to AUD hindi BDO. Inabangan ko nlng sa internet banking kung magkano ang papasok na pera. Roughly 10k USD ung pinadala ko. ONE transaction lang.

USD daw kasi ang ginagamit sa telegraphic transfer. Hnd ko alam kung pwede ung bibili ng AUD sa money changer tapos papatelegraphic transfer sa bank.

Sa driver license naman.. from PH license to SG license take lng ng BTT basic theory test. 11 sgd yata un. Tapos kapag may sg license ka na.. direct conversion na ung sg license mo to oz license dito. Kapag pinas license naman hawak mo.. pwede mo gamitin within 6 months lng tapos need to take eye test.. hazard test.. practical driving test at isa pang test. 4 yata un na test eh. Right hand drive din dito.

Hirap kami ngaun at nakikisakay lng.. ang lalayo ng sakayan at hnd namin kabisado ang lugar.

Pasencya na kung hnd ko nasagot iba.. PM nyo nlng ako pra sa specific questions nyo.

Ang heater na tinutukoy ko is ung heater para sa room... hindi ung heater sa faucet. Portable heater na kasinlaki ng microwave oven.Tagos kasi sa buto ang lamig. Hehe.. hope nasagot ko lahat ng tanong nyo. Ingatz.

Mostly sa usd to aud.. hnd ko pa nakausap banker dito sa OZ. Kasi kapag magpapadala ka ng pera cyempre may expected amount ka na in AUD base sa forex sa internet. Pero hnd mo alam magkano until makita mo sa ibanking mo. Kung wala naman sa 10kUSD.. handcarry nyo nlng. Or papalit kau jan ng AUD tapos dito na kau mag open. Ingat lng na genuine ibibigay sa inyo na AUD at malakihang halaga yan.

Thanks sa pagreply @gilberttkd. Yup im referring to the same heater, hehe, usually kasama na ito sa mga malalamig na place. Kase mga ibang kakilala ko yun nirerent nila may kasama na heater, so I thought standard yun. Was just suprised when you said you need to buy pa.

Yun sa driver's license I already have Sg DL but this year lang naacquire. Not sure if AU will allow me to have this converted since less than a yr pa lang sakin. Thanks again.

This is a late post na overwhelm lang these past few weeks when we received the golden email of our Visa Grant on October 15. Got the invitation from the State of Victoria
Applied VISA on 28 March 2014
May 2014 frontloaded everything(Form 80,documents,NBI,SGCOC....)
15 July 2014 Medical with my family at Drs. Horne (very accommodating clinic, I recommend them, the staff were very kind and helpful)
17 July 2014 Drs. Horne Clinic submitted the result ( I called them just to check they said they have submitted on 17 July)
July to October waiting for CO
2 October I called DIBP, the guy said it is still being processed no decision has been made.
15 October the Golden Email arrived! Direct Grant. Praise you Lord! Answered prayer. Our wait may be long but it is all worth it. God answers prayers at the appropriate time.

IED 1 April

We will be going to Melbourne this January.

@bookworm Yes July na kasi kami nag medical, pero ok lang basta na approve kami. Hinintay ko rin si CO mag email.Di nagparamdam, direct grant pala kami. Anyway ok lang yung timing ng approval, perfect timing sa plans namin. Kaya dapat pala, frontload na agad lahat ng documents, including yung form 80 and magpamedical agad para direct grant.
