Hi, I'm starting my ACS skills assessment soon. With regards sa employment reference letter, necessary po ba na in-detail ilagay ung description ng mga projects/applications na sinupport ko? thank you!

Tanong lang po mga kapatid. Hingi lang po ako ng opinyon ninyo. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education major in Computer Education po ako graduate and I've been working as a system programmer/developer for almost 10 years. Is my course considered ICT course since major in computer din naman? Need ko lang malamang kung gagawa ba ako ng RPL o hinde. Thanks in advance po.

@naxia, hindi po necessary na ilagay yung mga projects/applications, as long na in detailed yung job descriptions nyo sa nominated occupation.

@wolfbomb i think may percentage na tinitignan ang ACS sa curriculum natin depende sa nominated occupation. You can check naman sa anszco kung ano yung mga required na subjects per occupation. Ask natin mga experts hehe. Kasi sa case mo baka RPL ka. Minimun 6 years ibabawas dun. Pero syempre mas alam nung ibang nakaexperience na na halos same sa case.mo

@J_Oz, noted bro. so it means kung approved RPL ko dun sa 10 years ko 4 years lang pwede ko i claim which is 5pts lang di ba? then sa Educational qualifications i should get the lowest which is 10pts tama ba? if reject ang ACS assessment means wala ako pwede magamit na points?

@wolfbomb yes 5 points for skilled.experience. Yung educational qualifications naman pwede ipaasses sa ibang assessing body ata and you can still get 15 points. Any inputs from other members?... if ACS result is not suitable, you cant proceed with skilled migration ata...

@J_Oz, i see ganun pala yun. ibang assessing body talaga? saan sir? so yung skills ko sa ACS then sa educ qual ko saan?

Yes yong sa ACS kasi may option dun kung RPL etc... sa educ qual eh ang normal na nakikita ko dito vetassess pero kasi hindi ko talaga sure kung depende ba yun sa degree mo...

@wolfbomb sure no problem. Dito rin ako nanghingi ng help e hehe. Bale 15pts for educ qualification and 5 points for skilled. 6+ years kasi exp ko pero yun 2years binawas. Good luck and sana may makatulong sa case mo para makapag process ka na rin.

@wolfbomb, sa pagkakaintindi ko, RPL if the IT content of the college degree is zero to minimal (e.g. Accountancy). In your case it might be considered an IT course to some extent and like what @J_Oz have said, it all boils down to how much IT subjects are present in your course syllabus. Based from what I have read so far, once ACS provided the Skills Assessment result, it will also include an educational assessment. If they find your course lacking a certain amount of 'IT-ness', most likely you will be referred to other assessing authorities as a form of remedy (e.g. VETASSESS).

But, in the event that ACS is able to give opinion about your educational achievement (favorable or not), I believe you may no longer be allowed to seek another education assessment from other assessing authorities (e.g. VETASSESS).

@altuser41 ayun thanks for clarifying this. So iassess nya muna sarili niya? Kasi understanding ko rin basta mameet mo yung required nila e. Pwede siya makakuha ng bachelor degree with ICT minor no?

Anyway hindi ko sure sa process kung kelangan ba mag pa assess muna or direcho RPL na. Dba may option dun sa ACS.

@altuser41, @J_Oz - balak ko nga sir i-push na lang para malaman ko kung need ko RPL o hinde. as what i've read kung di sufficient yung content parang ia-advice ka na mag RPL route. kaya sana may mahingian ako ng sample ng RPL para ginagawa ko na habang nagaantay at nagpreprepare ng ibang docs.

By the way sir, from your timeline i notice that may VETASSESS at ACS assessment ka. More or less kasi baka parehas ng Nominated Occupation mo ang kukunin ko. Why do you have 2 assessing agencies?

page 9 andon yung certain portion of the total units you took required para maassess as bachelors, associate or diploma degree. :-)

Hello, ngrerequire po ba usually si ACS ng abstract ng research project for an undergraduate program? took up BS Computer Science and we had a Special Problem course nung last year ng college. parang research project sya.. appreciate your help! thanks!
