confused whether to apply for student or skilled sponsored visa

Good day po. Still a newbie here and im so amazed na may forum pla na ganito, ngtutulungan.. Share ko lng po ang concern ko. Last month my aunt (first cousin of my mom) called me if im nterested to stay with her n Goldcoast, Queensland.pwde dw sila mgsponsor ng husband nya, an Austalian citizen. Im a graduate of BS Accountancy at 7 yrs na akong ngttrabaho sa government in the Accounting Department(not a CPA)in a permanent position. I took masters in public administration din and graduated last 2011. Confused now if i will apply for a student visa or skilled sponsored visa. Ano po ba ang mas favorable? Thank u..

@erikathy - go to the accountant threads.. to check the requirements..
if you can pass IELTS and skills assessment as Accountant, then skilled migrant visa is the better option..

What exactly ung pag sponsor? To sponsor or Invite for tourist visa lang? Kasi i know sariling merits mo pa rin lahat.

If i were u i would go for accountant skilled visa - PR visa189. Then kapag may permanent visa kana saka kana magshift ng career or kung anong work gusto mo. Kung gusto mo magstudy mas cheaper at walang masyadong restrictions kapag may PR visa kna. besides you will still undergo PR visa processing kahit piliin mo mag student visa.

    Goodluck

My aunt said that they will provide for my school needs and other living expenses there. They will let me stay with them also pra d na ako magrent. His husband kasi may business doon so eligible dw sla magsponsor. Dont know if we can qualify kung dalawa kami under the sponsorship of my aunt. Mas malaki ba ang financial requirement ng PR compared to Student Visa?

Ah sponsor your needs malaking tipid nga yan. Kahit student visa pwede mong isama husband mo. Remember they just sponsoring your financial and other needs, whether you are qualified still and mainly depends on your "own" merits and decision of DIBP officer.

Check mo ung student visa requirements sa DIBP website and/or sa student visa thread dito. Mas magastos syempre visa processing ng PR visa, pero under 189 wala nman show money requirements unlike sa student visa which im not exactly sure.

At the end of the day, kahit mag student visa ka, its just a temporary visa. But to test the waters muna kung magugustuhan mo sa OZ then ok na din student muna. Up to you.

"The Skilled Regional (Provisional) Subclass 489 visa is a 4-year provisional visa which requires holders to live and work in a regional area to obtain permanent residence. To qualify, you would need be sponsored by either a relative living in a designated area or a State or Territory Government." How about this visa? I clicked on the designated areas and found Queensland as one of the places. I think I prefer a PR visa na.hehe thanks for answering my queries.

I am not familiar with 489 visa, 4-years provisional visa then saka palang mag PR? Why not go straight sa PR visa. You have the necessary experiences. The best visa class for me is 189, no restrictions kahit saan ka magstay. In 4 years time you can apply for Aussie citizenship. Pag PR kana, mas mura tuition fee kasi considered ka as domestic student. Processing for 189 nowadays is much faster and madami pa slot for accountants. just check lang about your points and other queries sa accountant thread.

if your eligible to apply skilled sponsored ito ang piliin mo kaysa student. Kung mayrun man ganun din you need to take IELST. Cheers

I've been reading other threads that give me insights regarding the right visa. PR visa is more strategic and practical nga nmn if ur really aiming for citizenship. Yun nga lang d ako masyado confident regarding sa points na mkukuha ko because of my grades in college but nkabawi nmn nung nag masters na. D ko kasi msyado feel mag accountancy dati kaya lng lola ko ngpapaaral sa akin and she wanted me to study in that field to help her with the business..If i will submit my skills assessment and the result is favorable (like they didn't mind my not-so-poor grades), do i have a higher chance of getting approved after I lodged my visa application? If i will try to apply for a 189 visa and didn't reach the desired points can i opt for a 489-relative sponsored visa instead without having to pay another visa fee?

"d ako masyado confident regarding sa points na mkukuha ko because of my grades in college but nkabawi nmn nung nag masters na" Your grades doesn't matter as long as you completed your university degree. Get 189 at all cost if you have atleast 60 points or higher. When you passed IELTS and got favourable assessment from (CPAA/ICAA/IPAA), getting visa approval after lodgment is almost sure. Not unless you fail medical/ have criminal records.

Academic IELTS for accountants. Also, its a pre-requisite documents when applying for assessment sa CPAA/ICAA.

iba iba ang requirements ng assessing agency... (e.g. academic for accountants, nursing, and teachers)...
pag walang IELTS requirements, then ang generic IELTS (as required by DIAC) ang minimum requiremnt..
